Relax on Huge Porch Overlooking Marsh- Short Walk to Beach

Edisto Island is a relaxing paradise. This Marshfront home has outstanding views with sunsets that are breathtaking. An extra large screened porch allows for rocking to the beautiful marsh view, or outdoor dining . The porch also has a dinner table that helps you enjoy the sunset or enjoy your morning coffee with the abundance of nature.

Our favorite part is the rustle of the big Palmetto Tree next to the porch that lulls you. Located on the right side of the duplex, with the bike path right out front. Only a short block to the ocean beach.

In the winter, we have a beautiful gas fireplace to let you feel cozy.

Plenty of room to bring your boat to park while staying.

Internet Service, No Smoking, No Pets.

There is a service for linens and towels on the island, Edisto Essentials: https://edistoessentials.com/products. You will need to contact them for pricing. If you choose, we do supply linens so you don't need to bring your own, but please make sure to give yourself time to wash and replace the linens we provide you or bring your own. We have a listing of the bed sizes on our property page for reference.

The porch was great! With beautiful views of the marsh and wildlife. We really enjoyed it - with some minor changes it would have been perfect, there were lots of cobwebs and the ceiling fan was broken. The house itself was nice, good layout for a small group. The kitchen had lots of dishes and good variety of cookware - we cooked in for several meals. The TV was easy to use and we could connect to our own accounts without any problems- A plus! Our biggest complaint and the reason we did not give this a 5 star rating were the beds. We know that it comes down to personal preferences but we found the beds were not comfortable - we tried them all. There were pillow tops on all the beds that made them way too soft and not supportive. This was not good for people with back problems. The location is another plus, we liked the views of the marsh to watch the sunset and the walk to the beach was easy - just a few blocks. Or you can drive and parking at the beach was always available. So overall a really wonderful experience! Would recommend!!

Quiet stay

The house was just as described and has just as gorgeous sunsets on marsh as others described. Just minutes to beach access and all things Edisto. Perfect for our friend long weekend wrapping up summer.

Relaxing Break

We enjoyed waking up to the wild life and views of the screened in porch and watching the sunsets from there in the evening. The house was clean, comfortable and a great place to stay. Looking forward to coming back as well as sharing with everyone we know.

Beautiful location and home. Owner was very accommodating with a mix up. Great beach choices within a very short walk or drive. Screened in porch was heavenly for wine and coffee time.

Piece of heaven

I have been going to Edisto Beach since I was born 45 years ago. This was the first time I stayed on the marsh side and this was the perfect house. The back screened in porch is the best part of the house. It fit our family perfectly and we would definitely stay here again!

No frills but does the job well

We stayed at this property recently while visiting Edisto for a wedding. Overall, the house served its purpose well and was great value for money. The house is a little dated, but everything was functional, and if you are like us, you aren't going on vacation to stay inside your house all day anyways. One thing to note that wasn't entirely clear is that this house is one side of a duplex, which wasn't a problem for us, but may be worth knowing for some.

Very nice place!

We loved the place. We would have given it 5 stars except for the dryer belt broke and it took a couple of days to get it fixed. I wished it could have been fixed faster. Also, you have to bring your own sheets and pillow cases. Of course, bringing your own towels and washcloths is quite normal. It could use a few kitchen washcloths and dish towels. Other than that it was great! It is well stocked with plenty of cookware and utensils. Plenty of dishes as well. The beach is less than a 5 min walk away. The island is not as commercialized as other places. That is exactly what we wanted! Thanks to the owners!

Great Location/ Upkeep needed.

This unit is perfectly located on the Marsh side of Edisto. The residence is nice but was unkempt. The dishwasher had not been run yet and the coffee maker was still full of grinds and dirty from the previous user. The Master bathtub had not been cleaned and had hair in it. The bedroom closets had blankets, and pillows just lying on the floor unfolded. As the owner noted the lockbox to get the key to the unit was quite difficult to get open. The last morning, there was a heavy rainstorm. The gutter over the steps was full and the water poured over the steps like a waterfall. Made it tough to load up the car. It really is a nice place , but more attention to housekeeping should be noted.

Cute & relaxing

Pros: Cute Clean Quiet Decent internet/TV options Close to beach (beach is what I would call a clean "swimming" beach. It isn't one to walk around if you want to poke around in tide pools, etc. as those aren't around). Easy to get food (we stayed during off season) Could be improved: Fridge Water/Ice Filter needs changing. Ran out of toilet paper in 1 bath as there wasn't a spare -- had to replace from the master spare. Both porch ceiling fans out of balance, forcing us to turn them off. This is a duplex, walls between units are thin (neighbor was doing work with electric drill/screwdriver). **If you choose to use their sheets, you are forced to wait until everything is washed, dried, folded, & put back in place or you get charged. This is the 1st VRBO we've ever encountered this type of expectation. Typically, it's either "strip the bed and put sheets by washer", or "please start the wash as you leave". We waited until sheets were in the dryer and left as we didn't have time to stick around to do their cleaning crew's duties before needing to check out. Finally - it would have been nice to see small sized hand/body soaps and/or shampoo/conditioner for the shower (or even one of those units that mounts to the shower wall that you can refill in bulk). Everything else was provided (even a very small flat iron for my hair, nice!), so it was surprising not to see these small items. Best things to see: Botany Bay Preserve (also see Boneyard Beach @low tide!) Serpentarium

Home was old and out dated. It was not very clean. Comforter on master did not seem clean and had debris in fuzzy side. Sheets did not fit oversized mattress which was stained. Tumbled sheets in cabinets and closets, so did not know if clean or not. Extra blankets did have debris in them. Porch had torn screen and cobwebs. Kitchen cabinet door fell off of hinge. Showers had mildew. Towel sets left out were not complete. Location and view were good. House was swept and mopped.

I can’t say enough about communication they respond quickly and work with you . Simply The Best! The home is small and charming you could easily stay at a bigger home but this is my 8th stay here and it feels like going home. The sunset view from the deck is beautiful it’s a short walk to the beach and the marsh is on the backside of the home to me the best of both.

La Marsh Inn

This has been my 7th stay at LaMarsh Inn I have been going twice a year since 2022 it’s a quaint little charm brings me back and the owners are very quick to respond. You can drive down to the point for a beautiful sunset or walk to the sound end of the beach is about a block and a half. In the fall the pistol shrimp are a joy to hear from the marsh. Great place on the marsh

This was our second spring break staying here and we loved it both times. The house is so nice and quiet and the view from the screened in porch is absolutely amazing. Highly recommend
