This was a lovely place to stay. The casita is clean and cozy, yard is relaxing (with a fabulous hot tub) host is wonderful, and the area is beautiful (and very convenient to Balboa Park). There are several cute coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance.
Amazing place. Perfect for 1 person business or conference travel. Excellent communication. Beautiful shared backyard. Will definitely stay here again.
"Had a great stay in SD. Super close to the park and the Zoo. The hot tub was awesome and really helped me unwind. Met expectations, would stay again."
Perfect spot within walking distance to all the South Park restaurants and shops. Frank was really responsive with messages and I felt comfortable as a solo female traveler. Would stay again!
Excellent spot for the solo traveler or a couple. The casita is very cozy with a heater in the bathroom and air conditioner for warmer days. Microwave, refrigerator and coffee brewer/pods were perfect for a morning start. Quiet location within a few blocks of excellent South Park restaurants. The North Park restaurant scene is also close by. Easy access to San Diego Zoo and Balboa Park and waterfront is within 3 miles. The patio has a sitting area, gas fire pit, and a hottub. A great place to take a pause and relax.
Frank’s space was perfect for a lovely little getaway! It is not large, but there is everything you need for a cozy day. The neighborhood was wonderful, with plenty of restaurants and shopping within walking distance. And the hot tub was a wonderful bonus!
It was just what I had hoped for! Beautiful and peaceful. I had everything I needed and could walk to lots of nice places to eat or shop. Hot tub and backyard privacy were the best! Thank you, Frank!
My girlfriend and I stayed here for 3 days, it was amazing. We loved the back patio, there was an area to enjoy your morning coffee or a wine to relax at night next to the fire pit. Bonus, theres a hot tub that was so relaxing. Eveything things so close, you can be at a beach in a blink, or a very short walk to delicious places to eat or have a drink. The owner was very accommodating, very friendly, super nice gentleman. He will stay out of your way or talk to him, he has great stories.
Alright, listen—if you’re coming to San Diego and don’t stay here, that’s on you. This place is an absolute find. South Park has that perfect mix of neighborhood charm and cool-factor—great bars, killer food, and Balboa Park basically in your backyard. The owner? Top-tier. Friendly, easygoing, and genuinely cool—none of that fake-nice host energy. As a marketing person, I’m tempted to brand this spot “Heaven on Fir” because honestly, it’s that good. I’ve stayed in plenty of rentals, but this one? Five stars, no notes. Book it before someone else with taste does.
Great spot to stay while attending a conference! The casita is clean, comfortable, and the fridge, coffee maker, and microwave in the closet are a nice touch. The outdoor area is beautiful and spacious. Close to bus access.
