Relaxing Cabin with Private Lake and Plenty of Outdoor Activities

Uncle Pudd’s Cabin is a quiet little getaway out at Wild Rose Ranch in Farmersville, Texas.

Out here you can slow down and enjoy the country. Swing in a hammock under the big pecan and oak trees, spend the afternoon fishing in our stocked lake, or just sit on the porch and enjoy the peace and quiet.

At night, the stars come out and the ranch gets real still. It’s the kind of place where you can unplug for a few days and enjoy the outdoors without the crowds.

When the day winds down, fire up the wood-fired hot tub next to the cabin and relax under the Texas sky.

Wild Rose Ranch also has several outdoor recreation areas including three gun ranges and an archery range for guests who want to enjoy more of the property.

We’re located about an hour from the DFW Metroplex, but it feels a whole lot further once you get out here.

Guest Access

Guests have access to the cabin, the area around the cabin, and the wood-fired hot tub during their stay.

Other parts of the ranch, including the fishing lake, gun ranges, and archery range, are available after a quick property tour and a signed liability waiver. This helps us go over the layout of the ranch and make sure everyone understands the safety guidelines.

Check-In Information

Check-in is between 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM.

• Arrivals between 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM incur a $35 late check-in fee
• Arrivals after 10:00 PM must be approved in advance and incur a $50 late check-in fee

We had originally booked the cabin but were told that it was unavailable. But instead of just letting us figure out where to stay, the hosts were incredible and offered us 'The Bunkhouse" in blue ridge instead. They were the most caring and accommodating hosts anyone could ever ask for and the true definition of southern hospitality. We felt right at home at this place and it was perfect for our needs. Couldn't ask for nicer hosts, who truly care about their guests and make sure that everything is impeccable. We are definitely planning to come back.

Whether it’s relaxing under the shade of the pecan and oak trees, spending time by the fishing lake, or enjoying the quiet Texas nights, the goal has always been simple — to create a place where people can slow down and enjoy the land.

Why they chose this property

The ranch sits in the quiet Texas countryside where you can enjoy open land, fresh air, and dark skies at night, but it’s still only about an hour from the DFW Metroplex.

Guests can truly unplug here while still being close enough for an easy weekend trip from the city.

What makes this property special is that it’s a real working family ranch, not just a cabin rental. Guests can enjoy the natural beauty of the land while also having access to unique amenities like the stocked fishing lake, farm animals, multiple gun ranges, and an archery range.
