Our home has 3 bedrooms and a queen-sized Murphy bed upstairs. The primary suite is on the main floor and has a beautiful ensuite bath with soaking tub. Upstairs there is a large guest bath, and there is a desk with monitor and printer in the guest room if you need to work. All the bedrooms have black-out shades. The whole house is yours to enjoy!
Nearby you will find great restaurants, wineries, breweries. Some of our favorites in town include Stonewalls for delicious American food, LP on Main for great food with a Louisiana twist, Puerto Nuevo for great Mexican food and Peddlin' Pig for BBQ.
Banner Elk Winery is about 10 minutes away, just outside downtown. It is a picturesque place to hang out, drink wine and listen to music. Grandfather Winery, an area classic is only about 6 miles away as well.
Alpine Mountain Coaster is 5 minutes down the road- fun for all ages.
Many great hikes are nearby, and are close to Grandfather Mountain. There are many public mountain golf courses. We even have a brand new golf simulator place called The Turn about 3 minutes up the road.
For winter sports enthusiasts: Sugar Mountain is 5 minutes away and Beech Mountain is about 15 minutes. We have a closet outside on our porch to keep your ski/snowboarding gear safely stored.
Kids love gem mining and trout fishing. There are many choices close by. Tate Evans Park in downtown Banner Elk has a great playground area and a creek.
Whether it's skiing at Sugar Mountain, enjoying a great meal, or taking advantage of all the area has to offer, our house will provide a comfortable place to come home to.

Frequently asked questions
About the host
Hosted by Brenda Griner

I'm originally from NY, back have lived in Florida (same as a lot of folks in WNC) most of my adult life. I love hosting because I really enjoy sharing my beautiful home with other families. I love hearing what a nice time they had, or how lovely my home is!
Why they chose this property
Banner Elk has small town charm with great food, wineries and microbreweries. Sugar Mountain is 5 minutes away. Also so much great hiking nearby. Its in between Boone (App State) and Blowing Rock. It's the best of location- close to everything. The neighborhood itself is quiet- it feels like a true getaway.
What makes this property unique
Our home is comfortable but leans more towards modern in decor. The main living area is spacious and inviting. On our deck you will find a great hot tub and grill. There is a cozy fire pit out back. We have a beautiful view from the house. The driveway is mostly flat, so no 4 WD is needed. 5 minutes from Sugar and 5 minute from downtown
