You can access the Alpine Loop directly from the cabin on your 4-wheelers....no trailering needed. There is a fire pit outside to enjoy in the evening after a fun day in the mountains. Lake City
Located in Lake City, this cabin is in a rural area and in the mountains. Hard Tack Mine and Animas Forks are local landmarks, and the area's natural beauty can be seen at Bill Hare Gulch Wilderness Study Area and Slumgullion Earthflow. Make sure you get close to the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.
Perfect location on the lake with stunning views. The unit had everything and was uniquely decorated with art, photographs and personal items that made us feel right at home.Definitely on our list of places to return.

Cozy, clean and a magnificent view!😊
I have preferred staying in this cabin for the view, access to trails and the closeness to town.
This cabin is feet from Lake San Cristobal with an amazing view down the Alpine Loop. Wildlife abounds. Highlight of the trip was quite moments sitting on the porch or around the fire pit. The accommodations helped make this our favorite trip to Lake City. Kitchen was usable and equipped. Bedroom was warm and comfortable. I can't say better things other than a few run-ins with spiders.
We spent 3 nights in this very cute little cabin. Pros - Location is perfect as it sits right on the Alpine Loop, Views - I could spend every evening for the rest of my life sitting on the porch looking over the lake and mountains, Clean - It is very clean and charming little cabin, great for a weeked get away. Cons - Comfort - The futon couch and chairs in the TV area are not comfortable at all and the plastic over the dining room table chairs make that seating less than desirable, Dated - the furniture throughout the property is very dated, and could be updated.
At the end of the day, I would recommend this cabin for a short stay. However, if this were our VRBO we would invest a few thousand dollars and make it more comfortable and updated. So much promise in this little place and it could truly be AMAZING if someone were to invest just a little bit of time and money into it.
Overall we enjoyed our stay. We hiked 14ers each day and it was nice to have a home base that was close and convenient to everything!
This was easily on of our most favorite vacations and the setting and the cabin were perfect for it. The view from the front porch each morning or next to the campfire at night was nothing less than inspirational. The 5 nites we spent there flew by. There was absolutely NOTHING that we wanted for in this cabin. Its much more roomy than the photos appear, and has a very well equipped kitchen, and all the supplies. The lake was very nearby and a small place to park our kayaks for our morning paddle on a pristine glass mountain lake surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in colorado. The bed was comfortable. You could easily fit 4 or 5 persons there but...with two it was perfect. The place was immaculately clean and so many little touches such as maps to the hiking, guides to the area, games and puzzles, dry wood for the campfire, a few blocks of firestarter, a great gas grill, a full size fridge and freezer. Did I mention the views? Thank you for hosting us in this beautiful place. I am quite certain we will be back and for longer next time.

Clean and cozy cabin with fully equipped kitchen. The morning views of the lake and night time fires under the stars made for an amazing week. Will definitely use Lakeview Property Management for our next trip here.
We were pleasantly surprised by the roominess of the cabin. We’ll supplied. Nice touch was the gas grill and a supply of fire wood for the fire pit. Location was great near the lake.
We had an amazing stay at this cabin on the lake for our honeymoon! The views are incredible and the cabin was nice and cozy! Would definitely stay again!
My husband and I were looking for a secluded getaway in the mountains with a lake. We found a great spot. Took a nice hike and kayaked while we stayed. The space was good for what we were looking for.
