Nice little spot

Things were great here, quiet and close to what we needed. Front door was a little janky, but after some investigation, we made it work.

This was perfect for our family in town for my daughter's wedding. We were grateful it was available on short notice as the first property we booked cancelled just 2 days before our arrival.

Cozy home

Great location close to U of A. The rooms were nice and cozy. Rooms are just as seen on pictures. Only struggle was opening and closing the door.

Good location and lots of room

Cute house. Large master suite. Everything was generally good. Kitchen countertops were not clean and floors could have been cleaner. Front door lockbox situation is difficult and should be improved.

Beautiful home

It was perfect, the only issue was I had 4 bed rooms and 5 beds as a filter and one of the rooms and bed was a crib. Not exactly what I was expecting, but still a perfect space.

Gem Show weekend

The house looks & feels great. The only thing of note: the front yard/parking area is pea gravel - which comes into the house in the soles of even the tiniest shoes. The house has hardwood floors, so it creates a challenge once you take off your shoes…. CB instantly stepping on gravel: ouch!Bedding, towels, pillows - everything new and great quality. Lots of dishes and kitchen items. Overall a great space, and would be happy to stay there again next year.

We had a pleasant stay

The accommodations were as shown on the listing. The neighborhood is nice and the location is centrally located for our needs. The big tree in the back should probably be cut down soon.

Great Location

We needed space for four adults and a one-year-old, so this house worked perfectly for us. The facilities are modern and pleasant. It would be nice to have a couple of pans or cookie sheets for use in the oven, but otherwise the kitchen supplies were adequate. The location of the house is great - within an easy walk of a park with playground as well as restaurants and neighborhood for strolling. Also an easy walk to UofA.

My family has deep roots in Arizona, having lived here since before 1880. My great-aunt even worked for The Tombstone Epitaph in the early 1900s — a historic connection I’m proud of. Founded in January 1880, The Tombstone Epitaph is the oldest continuously published newspaper in Arizona and remains a vital source for stories about the Old West’s history and culture.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, hiking, and spending time outdoors with family and friends. Arizona’s natural beauty and rich history continue to inspire both my leisure and lifestyle.

Why they chose this property

The Sam Hughes neighborhood is one of Tucson's most sought-after areas, cherished by locals and families alike. With its tree-lined streets, historic charm, and central location, it’s easy to see why so many home seekers consider Sam Hughes a favorite place to live.

Residents and visitors enjoy a wide variety of nearby activities. From top-rated dinner spots and cozy coffee houses to outdoor adventures like golfing, mountain biking, road cycling, swimming, and even skydiving — there’s something for everyone.

The area also boasts vibrant cultural and entertainment venues, including live music, theater, museums, and art events. Local wineries and breweries frequently host tastings and events, making it easy to enjoy the best of Tucson’s food and drink scene right in your neighborhood.

What makes this property unique

This historic and beautifully remodeled home, originally built in the 1940s, was thoughtfully updated in 2024. It features a charming open living room with a fireplace framed in hand-placed stone, offering a warm and inviting glow — perfect for cozy evenings.

The original hardwood floors have been carefully preserved, maintaining the home's timeless character, while the kitchen, bathrooms, and third and fourth bedrooms have been updated with stylish, modern tile.

Enjoy mornings on the covered front porch and unwind in the shady, private backyard complete with a covered patio. Entertain with ease using the built-in propane gas BBQ, or gather around the outdoor mesquite wood-burning fireplace for a classic Arizona evening under the stars.
