Fresh Local Produce
Stop at dozens of family-run fruit stands with some of the best roadside markets in Canada, packed with cherries, peaches, apricots, apples, veggies, baked goods, and more (many stands have been operating for generations).
Wineries:
Wine lovers will enjoy over 15–20 boutique wineries (plus a few cideries). Many offer tastings of organic and estate-grown wines in picturesque settings with valley views—perfect for a relaxed afternoon tour.
Hiking:
The area features excellent trails for all levels:
Pincushion Trail — Offers panoramic views across the Valley.
Barcelo Falls — A scenic hike leading to a beautiful waterfall.
Cathedral Provincial Park
A rewarding alpine circuit with glacier-topped peaks, indigo lakes, and wildflower meadows (access via a scenic jeep shuttle or full-day hike from the trailhead).
Apex Mountain Ski Resort:
In summer, enjoy hiking and mountain biking amid wildflowers and alpine scenery. In winter, it transforms into a premier ski and snowboard destination with downhill runs, tubing, skating, and more.
Similkameen River:
Cool off with a dip and gentle float. Best spot is the Ashnola Bridge "red bridge" dating back to 1909 in Keremeos.
Yellow Lake:
A quick and easy spot for fishing (stocked with rainbow trout, brook trout, kokanee, and perch—great for shore or boat fishing) and peaceful canoeing/kayaking. There's a boat launch (no motors allowed), accessible dock. No swimming in this lake.
Ginty's Pond:
A peaceful wetland and bird sanctuary ideal for quiet nature walks, wildlife viewing, and a relaxing escape in the valley. No swimming at this pond.
Historic Grist Mill and Gardens
The Grist Mill is 145 years old and a provincial heritage site with many events / tours.

The dark nights make for incredible star gazing—especially on clear summer nights.
