WE HAVE 2 VACATION RENTALS ON LAKE WALLENPAUPACK THAT ARE RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER. PLEASE ALSO CHECK OUR BEAUTIFUL LAKEFRONT CHALET LISTING 995970.
Our lakefront cabin is the perfect location for relaxation. It is located near the end of a small private road with only 3 other houses, in a quiet setting on the eastern side of Lake Wallenpaupack. The cabin is set back about 200 feet from the lake and a private walkway leads you down to the private lakeside picnic and sitting area and the dock that is shared with the guests of our chalet. There is a view of the lake from the cabin broken up by pine trees, and magnificent views from the lakeside picnic/sitting area and dock. The dock is available late May through mid-October and can handle two 20+ foot boats (1 per house).
The dock is perfect for sunbathing, fishing, swimming or just relaxing and catching the magnificent Wallenpaupack Sunsets. The cabin includes wifi, streaming hi def TV, and it has a fully furnished kitchen, dining area and breakfast area, along with a living room, recently upgraded bathroom with shower/tub. There is a large deck in front of the cabin, with a gas grill and picnic table. There is a private fire pit in the wooded area alongside the cabin. Guests will need to bring their own towels, linens and blankets, unless other arrangements are made with the owner.
This is a great location for relaxing with family and friends. Our Sunset View Chalet is located right next door, and we frequently have guests who rent both houses for larger family gatherings.
The cabin was built in the 1950s. The bathroom, windows and flooring have been updated, a large deck has been added for grilling and outdoor dining and relaxiing, but the cabin retains much of it's rustic charm. If you are looking for a modern house with the latest amenities, please check out our Sunset View Chalet (Homeaway Property #995970).
One word of caution, our properties are NOT for those who are looking for a place to let loose and have a wild, loud party. It is a family neighborhood and there is a noise curfew at 10pm that is enforced. If you are looking for a great place for family and friends to gather in a peaceful setting, it is ideal. Thanks!!!

Stayed here on a rainy weekend with my husband and 5 month old. The cabin itself is cozy and has all the comforts of home. The location is not only great for lake access but other activities in the area as well. Looking forward to coming back in the future.

Great quite cabin, close to lake
Our family spent the weekend at the cabin and loved every minute of it, even though the internet wasn’t working the kids had a great time! The cabin was tucked away with plenty of privacy and the views of the sunset were beautiful.

Hi Dana,
Thanks so much for coming up. I am happy to hear you enjoyed your stay. Sorry you had an issue with the internet. Wish you had given me or Jenn, our property manager, a call and we could have easily talked you through connecting. We have 3 houses next to each other, so even if 1 is down you can always connect to one of the other networks as described in the home instructions. Thanks again for coming up and we hope you and your family return soon!
We had a weekend to get away before our kids went back to college and this was just what we needed. David's house on the lkae was quiet, cozy and restful. Plenty of things to do in the area, including renting a pontoon boat for the day, right down the road. Looking forward to spending more time there.

Great house in peaceful setting.
This was a perfect spot for a relaxing long weekend. Sunning on the dock, reading on the deck, grilling and games, and a nice hike near by. 4.5 stars. Nicely priced, near a lot, pretty setting.

I've been enjoying Lake Wallenpaupack for over 50 years and have rented many lake side cabins for family vacation. This place was just right for our group of 6 adults - a perfect blend of classic cabin living with the necessary comfort upgrades. Shared dock, although not ideal, worked out fine and was not a detriment to our stay.
We enjoyed the front deck and fire pit area.

Hi Rita, Thanks again for your stay! I'm sorry to hear you felt the cabin was not clean and the kitchen was not well supplied. I've sent you a couple of emails asking if you to be more specific about cleaning so I can discuss this with my cleaning people, as this is the first time we have received a complaint in a while. We have been using the same cleaning crew for several years, and if they are missing areas I would like to address that with them. I also asked you to please let me know where you feel the kitchen was not well supplied, so we can address that as well. Your input would be really helpful.
We had a great time during our week at the lake! The cabin was exactly what we had anticipated, and had everything we needed for our family of 4. The cabin was clean and well-maintained, and both David (owner) and Jennifer (property manager) were super easy to communicate with and very responsive. It's a nice quiet street, with great views of the lake and easy access to the nearby restaurants when we didn't feel like cooking. We can't wait to make a return reservation!!
overall place was nice and sufficient for what we wanted- the floors were sparkling- the windows had spider webs- only one bathroom- which might have been better if there was another mirror so you could get ready at another mirror- and have the bathroom for bathroom usage- the TV was fine- the flower couch sank down - but the beds were OK- which is what counts-

Beautiful view but poor response with property manager
House needs more storage in the kitchen like a baker's rack.

Thanks for your rental and thanks for this review and for touching base off line to explain the situation you encountered with a slow response to your request. My apologies. I hope the partial refund we sent helps make up for slow response and please take me up on the discount if you decide to return to one of our properties.
Hi Marvin, Thanks again for your rental. In our listing and the materials we email to you, we explain that the dock is shared with the guests of our chalet. There is room for the guests of each house to have one boat that is tied up to either side of the dock. Also, the Lake authorities demand that all docks be removed from the lake in the late fall and winter. We cannot gurantee a dock will be in the water until late May, and the dock is removed from the water sometime after Oct 15. Since you arrived on Oct 10, the dock was avaialble for your stay. I usually tell folks not to count on the dock after Oct 15th. All of the docks are floating docks and in the beginning of the season the lake level is high and the dock is right up near the steps. However, during the course of the summer, the power company generates electricity and the lake level lowers a bit and we all have to progressively push our docks out through the boating season.

Just okay.
It was OK. I don't think it has been deep cleaned in years. The couches are old and sunken. Some of the dishes weren't cleaned all the way. The AC in the attic room was not working. One of the "Bedrooms" is really just a nook next to the attic room. Also, there was the skeletal remains of some animal right by the vehicle pull up at the house. The deck and deck furniture was covered with tree debris.

Edward,
Thanks for your review, my only regret is that you didn't contact us while you were there to let us try to address these concerns. We have a property manager and cleaning crew on retainer, and I try to make it clear in our communications that we want to make sure we address issues like these if they arise, so you have the best stay possible. I have alerted our cleaning staff that you had an issue with the dishes. The guest that came in after you told us that the vent for the AC in the attic room had disconnected, so we were able to address that quickly during their stay. Yes, there is a smaller bedroom with an angular roof with a full size bed and a dresser. I tried to depict that accurately in the photo and the description which reads "Fourth small angular bedroom with full size bed." I'm sorry if that was not evident. Your concern about the deck furniture and tree debris was very legit after the storm, and we became aware of that after you left. We also just replaced the grill last week, which was worn and I purchased a leaf blower and instructed my cleaning crew to blow off the deck between visits. I will have to reevaluate the couches. I have also asked my cleaning crew to look for skeletal remains near the driveway. Thanks again for your stay and for bringing these issues to my attention. David.
Our overall impression of the house and property was positive. If you are looking for a house that is in the woods but also near town then this is for you! The house is old and rustic but some updates have been made. The kitchen space was ok for the 2 of us but would be difficult to have enough space to prepare food for a larger group of people. The grill only worked on the left side and it took a very long time to cook 4 burgers. The fire pit area is well maintained and has plenty of seating. The dock was difficult to access for us 55+ year olds. Not enough flat rocks to easily get up on the dock. The location to view the sunset was nice but the picnic table was not maintained . The beds were extremely comfortable and the bathroom suited our needs. I wish there had been an exhaust fan in the bathroom . The living room and tv area were great.
The host and property manager were excellent to communicate with and answered all of our questions prior to our stay.. Overall I recommend this location.
My husband and I brought our boat to the cabin so we could fish for the week. Having a boat dock gave us easy access to the lake as well as viewing beautiful sunsets right in our own backyard. The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed. We played corn hole with our neighbors in the chalet next-door it made for a fun evening.

Hi Louise, Thanks again for coming up to the cabin. I still get a thrill from hanging out on the dock and taking photos of the sunsets! I hope we get a chance to host you and your family again!!
Was great overall experience. Couple of improvements can be done in my opinion: one room with queen bed is located on the very top of the stairs has no door. There is no privacy if a married couple sleeps in this room and you hear all guests on each floor. Besides that I love the place
Cabin was exactly as advertised. Perfect size for my wife & I as we celebrated our anniversary. Easy access to the lake where each night the sunsets were magnificent. Also the Autumn foliage really added to the scenery. Restaurants and the lake trail are very close by. Very peaceful, which is what we were looking for.

Thanks for coming up, we are glad you enjoyed your stay at the chalet!! Hope to see you again!
Great location on the lake. They weren’t kidding that they have the beat sunsets! Well stocked for our family’s needs. Close to stores and restaurants too.
This property was perfect. Our friends had the house next door and we rented a pontoon boat for the week. It was just perfect and the house was just right. It’s a great location. There was some rain and the dock floated a way a little and they were in quick contact and fixed everything right away.
We had a wonderful time , size of home was perfect for our stay. We have the boat dock that the kids loved to fish off of. Would recommend to stay. Kids didn’t like the bugs but were in the woods.
We have had a house on the lake since 1999. Lake Wallenpaupack is a beautiful, big boating lake and a great place to relax. Our kids loved to visit the lake as they grew up and now love to return for mini vacations. We now have 2 houses which are right next to each other, which makes it a great spot for family reunions.
Why they chose this property
Our Sunset View Cabin is located on a small private road in a peaceful, quiet setting. The house is priced similar to what you would pay for a lakefront hotel room, with the benefit of having a whole 4 bedroom house and private deck for you and your guests to enjoy. You have views of the lake, through the trees, from the house and if you walk straight ahead (about 200 feet) down to the lake, there is a great private lakeside setting with a picnic table and 2 Adirondack-style chairs, and then stairs down to the dock that is shared with our chalet. The dock has a swim ladder and is ideal for watching the amazing sunsets, fishing or sunbathing.
What makes this property unique
Our Cabin is located in one of the most scenic areas of the lake. The lake is about 1 and 1/2 miles across and our property faces west. You have magnificent wide views of the lake and of Epply Island, which is a great location for picnics, if you have a boat. There are 2 boat rental facilities within a mile of the cabin, if you would like to rent a boat. You can walk to The Boat House restaurant from the property.
