* House has great layout and is well equipped for family visit
* Outstanding location: beautiful view over salt marsh, short walk on lovely island roads to two beaches
* relatively close to Wellfleet center and Eastham for shopping
* paradise for active dogs; traffic-free routes for runners
This is a beautiful house on a gem location. Lt Island is a stunning place and with the high tide restriction to the island is quiet and like being at camp. The house has 2 decks looking over the tidal salt marsh. The listing makes clear that there was 1 air conditioning unit in the main space. It had been moved to a back bedroom and we needed to move it back to the kitchen area. The primary bedroom is on the second level with no AC, only a ceiling fan. It was 91 degrees up there and uninhabitable. The property management was extremely nice and brought out a second AC unit for that room.

Lt. Lieutenant Island family vacation
Great, great great vacation! Absolutely fabulous location, beautiful short walk to a gorgeous harbor beach. Checking in was a problem, cleaners arrived 45 minutes after us. The house is very nice. The owner needs to fix a few broken appliances ie toaster, clothes drier and the most problematic work around was absolutely no empty kitchen cabinets for food that we brought. The water is ok for cooking but undrinkable which is not a complaint, it’s not unusual for the area. A heads up though, plan on bringing some gallons.
Great house, in a remote part of Cape Cod. Almost never ran into anyone on the beaches on Lt. Island during our 2 week stay. We really appreciated the pet friendly accommodations, our dog may have enjoyed this vacation more than us. Home was as advertised, absolutely no issues. We hope to stay at this property for years to come.
Very dirty when arrived. Kitchen and lower bathroom a mess!
Where to begin. Let's start with the good. The location and privacy is great. Loved the decks and two full bathrooms.
Now, the bad..... kitchen was filthy, lower bathroom looked unclean for at least the last 4 stays, we had to scrub it for a solid hour. We had ants in the kitchen on the counter tops. I
The management group just said sorry, have not had that before and threw some ant cups down. Water filter was bad, undrinkable water. Sink has a leak underneath and starting to rot. This is a forgotten summer home or the management group just doesnt care!

Before you read or consider this review, please be sure to look at the other reviews. Not only does this property consistently receive high marks, it has many happy repeaters!
The views from the upper and lower decks are wonderful--Lt. Island is a truly magical place. This house is comfortable and thoughfully laid out. Plenty of room, all the amenities you need and dog-friendly too!
The water on the island is both potable and drinkable. Some folks notice a bit of a salty taste, some do not. When this tenant called us about the water, we immediately provided bottled water.
When they called a second time about the ants, we immediately came over and laid out ant cups and sprayed the perimeter. Ants--the tiny ones called sugar ants--are common on the Cape. And easy to find when you have open food out on the counters which was present when we came over with the ant cups. And yes, there had been no mention of ants by previous tenants this year. No mention after, either.
As for cleanliness, we have had no complaints this summer and none from this tenant upon arrival or during the other two calls. Please be sure to always call if anything is amiss! We would have responded the same way we responded to the other two calls--promptly and effectively.
We were sad to receive this review as it does not reflect the experiences of other tenants who have booked on this site or directly with us.

Splendid island house with magnificent views.
This house is just as pictured. We love an unconventional, island setting close to a bay. Wonderful walks, scenery, and breezes. The upstairs master bedroom suite is magnificent..The bathroom is great with much attention to detail. The service provided by the realtor group is wonderful. They made sure we had everything we needed and delivered some needed things to the house. When there was an unexpected house problem the response was immediate and thorough. We would stay here again, and fully recommend this house to others. Thank you all...a splendid vacation. Sheila and Peter

Charming, light filled and well maintained.
We loved our stay in this cottage on Lt. Island. The home had everything you needed, was well maintained, beautifully decorated, and very relaxing. Beautiful views off either of the two decks to the sprawling tidal marsh. Short walk to bay. Dog friendly. Would definitely recommend and rent again.
