We lovingly called this the 'Witch's Cabin". Everything was as listed. We had fun trying to figure out the history and original design of the cabin. Marc was great to work with and responded very quickly. If you are looking for quiet, rustic, and charming this is the place.

Nice, quiet getaway
My wife and I had a great week here. The cottage is clean and comfortable. It’s a great jumping off point for visiting West Jefferson, Boone, the Parkway and beyond. We had never been to this part of the state and really enjoyed it. We particularly liked West Jefferson, which is 15-20 minutes away. They have a nice brewery, restaurants, and a cool little movie theater.
The cottage was comfortable. We stayed upstairs so we could open the door to the deck at night. The sound of the river made for nice sleep!
My husband and I and our two dogs had a great time. The house was very cute and the neighborhood was quite. We were close to downtown Jefferson as well as West Jefferson. Only complaints are that the oven would not work properly so was unable to cook in it and only one couch to lounge in. Loved the upstairs master's suite as well. Would recommend though.
Our family of four had a lovely house to stay in while we had a family wedding at a home on the New River a few miles away. We were grateful for the wi-fi service when we had car problems and had to utilize it to contact AAA. :) It was also nice to have the A/C and other modern conveniences that you may not have in all the cabins up in this area. The only downside for the cabin (to me) was my allergies affected me with the dog hair in the carpet. However, it is quite nice to have a dog-friendly house so I shouldn't complain about that! Thank you again!
We absolutely loved our stay here. There was plenty of room for our family of four and dog. Our kids had so much fun exploring the house and grounds. The house had everything we needed, including a well-equipped kitchen to cook meals. The property was well-situated for easy day trips to Tweetsie Railroad and Boone. Finally, Marc was a wonderful host—responsive, kind, and communicative.
Marc’s cottage is in a great location: private among the trees but close enough to W Jeff that we could quickly and easily drive into town for lunch, and very close to state parks for hiking/picnics. The cottage furniture was comfortable and there were plenty of places to choose from that make perfect reading nooks. It’s a great place to chill in for days or be home base for adventures. We will be back!
Mark spot was phenomenal. We were looking to get away from people and crowds the scenery the rustic of the cabin the location was everything we were looking for the wood stove was a A+ upstairs in the master bathroom we love the view and the area we will definitely be back. It was perfect for our third year anniversary. We’ll book again in the future. Thank you for everything.
The property was nice and secluded. We brought our dogs and they had plenty of room to play around. The house was so corky and cute! We really enjoyed sitting out on the deck at night and star gazing! There was zero light pollution and I even saw a shooting star! We had a blast and definitely recommend this place
So much charm here. Had everything we needed in the kitchen, smart tv, comfy beds, and adequate bath. Loved that we were able to bring our dog. He loved walking the property. Will definitely be back! Thanks!
Enjoyed our stay and time with family. Host was a good communicator. Cabin was clean and neat. There was a leak in the upstairs roof which allowed water to leak onto futon, making it unusable. Fortunately, my adult daughters were ok sharing a bed. Overall, a neat place in a very quiet area.
I rented the house for friends to stay in during my wedding weekend. They loved it! They said it was beautiful, clean, comfortable and adorable. They also loved the great kitchen.
The place was nice, but couldn’t get WiFi at all. We tried many times and I even had my grandkids try for me. We loved the flag. Thanks for letting us have r dogs. The little ones loved it.
