About this property
Rustic camp on the shores of Upper Wilson Pond
Nestled in the Maine Highlands between Moosehead Lake and the Hundred-Mile Wilderness, Upper Wilson Pond is known for its seclusion, abundant wildlife, and calm waters. Situated steps from the southwest shore, Loon Lodge of Upper Wilson Pond is an inviting, off-the-grid, rustic retreat where the call of loons and lapping water can be heard both day and night. The camp is available to rent from the middle of May, shortly after the ice goes out, to mid-September, when fall is settling in.
From Scammon Road on the ridge, the long gravel driveway winds down to the camp below. The driveway to the camp is shared by the owners who have an additional parking area and a separate boat dock on the property.
Loon Lodge features an open-concept kitchen/living room, an indoor bathroom, and three bedrooms as well as a sleeping cabin, making it ideal for everything from hosting a large party to escaping for a personal retreat. Gravity-fed running water and gas-powered refrigerator, stove, lights, and water heater contribute to the rustic comfort of the Maine camp experience and more than compensate for the lack of electricity. Steps from the door, guests will find a dock for boating, fishing, and swimming.
Loon Lodge's close proximity to Greenville makes it an ideal base to explore the town and the larger Moosehead Lake region.

A beautiful and quiet place in the woods...a place to get away and enjoy nature...We've been staying here for a few years now and it never disappoints.
Comfortable cabin has everything you need. In the woods, on the pond/lake, with a beautiful view and surroundings. For us, it is a peaceful, romantic place.
This was our second stay at the property. The house is a perfect combination of rustic and comfortable. The kitchen and linens were well stocked, the beds and living room seating are comfortable and this portion of Wilson Pond is quiet and beautiful. 6 Humming birds shared the feeder, the loons called frequently, and bald eagles flew over the lake. Wonderful.
Perfect place to disconnect with family and relax! The views were breathtaking, the fish were biting, and the marshmallows were toasted. Will be back again next year!
We had a wonderful time. Just like the reviews. Beautiful location, clean rustic cabin with all needed amenities, gracious hosts (plus great weather).
A real gem!
We enjoyed our stay. Loved being off the grid and surrounded by such beauty. The fishing was great and the loons at night were awesome. You get the full greenville experience here. Still only 10 minutes from town. This place is a hidden gem.
Close enough to Greenville to have access to the fun activities like katahdin ship, hiking trials, shopping, the grocery store, supplies, seaplanes if you want them, etc. It is a wonderful peaceful spot with good fishing and lake swimming. New solar battery means the lights at night are reliable but the warm gas lamp glow is still available. We love this place.
We were looking for a private cabin with nice swimming / fishing access and this was perfect. Very simple, clean and remote. Plenty of space for large family. Nice pier for swimming and fishing. Great view of the sky for watching the metor shower and northern lights. We would recommend!
Great as always. It is so peaceful so close to the lake. The water was warm enough to swim and the sunrises are amazing. You can see so many stars at night and hear the loons sing. The solar power is enough to run the lights as long as we needed and having lights upstairs now is great. The sleeping cabin provides an extra peaceful place to nap. Great spot to read. Plenty of hiking nearby. Good fishing. Fun to watch the eagles.
The property was perfect for our family vacation. The lack of electricity or cell network was a big plus in our book. It was good to get our teens disconnected for a few days!
It’s the perfect location if you want that remote lakeside cabin experience, while being a short drive from town or the many outdoor activities in the area. We hope to go back again next year!
We had a great time. So relaxing. So beautiful. Everything we needed. Close enough to town for convenience but far enough away for privacy. Roomy enough for us to have privacy. Loved the big window and window seats. Thank you.
Cabin is rustic but comfy. Solar lights work great, and the gas lights are good for after dinner ambiance.
Lots of room with lots of bedding choices in a perfect picturesque place. Would be nice if there were more trout and less perch.
Lake was fun to paddle on but for us swimming was limited due to wind and air temp.
Loved this spot for our family get-together over the Fourth of July; the paddling on Upper Wilson is amazing - we made it to the top of the lake and saw lots of loons and a grazing moose. The huge picture window means that even if it's raining you've got a gorgeous view of Elephant Mountain. Really comfy beds!! Not far from Greenville but you feel as though you're far away from it all.
A rustic cabin with few other camps in the neighborhood. Quiet, loon calls, Bald Eagle swooping for fish, the photo books with pictures of those whom we met years ago at this and the other camp - all priceless. We rented a boat, enjoyed fishing as well as walking on wooded trails. The driveway was a challenge for a filled van, but we made it. Clean and comfortable. This time I will never forget the sight of a rainbow across Elephant Mountain.
