This was a perfect space for us. The cottage was well appointed with everything we needed and very convenient to many attractions in Gloucester. The off street parking was definitely a plus. We ate outdoors whenever possible, relaxed in the chairs overlooking the river and had a wonderful show of white and blue herons one morning. We would choose this place again when traveling to Gloucester.
The stay was great! One concern I had was the locking mechanisms on the kitchen door and French doors. It took us a little while to figure out how to lock the kitchen door, but the French glass door would not lock for us.
This location turned out to be the best location for us, we were here for our son’s wedding at the Hammond Castle with the wedding rehearsal dinner at the Castle Manor Inn, which is a block away.
The house was clean and roomy enough for the 5 of us that stayed. We had some family and friends over after the rehearsal dinner and the wedding and it was perfect because some of the people were staying at the Castle Manor Inn.
Gordon was very good to answer questions and responsive.
I needed to call the 24/7 line for the code to get in before we left, as I did not have one. The woman I spoke to was delightful and saved the day!
The house is spacious. The kitchen is fully furnished with dishes, glasses and cook wear and has a nice Keurig! It has an eat in table and sliders over looking the backyard and marsh with really comfy adarondack chairs. It was tranquel! There was a massive thunderstorm storm and was quite the sight from the sliders. The view it offers is the bay with boats, the marsh with so many birds and in the distance was the train track. You could feel the train rumble and hear the engine then could watch the entire train pass by. There are 3 bedrooms! Plenty enough for the family. They provide a great sitting area in the living room with a huge table to play games at or enjoy dinner while watching TV which we never do! The house is hardwood throughout so no carpeting for those with severe allergies and leather sofas instead of upholstered. This is actually what made me pick the house as my daughter's fiancee has life threatening allergies to dust mites. There is a window AC in the living room and fans are provided in each room.
The only thing we wished we had was more pillows so bring extra if you sleep with more than 1.
It is close to town and so many activities! We had a great week and would go back! 😊

Great place!
The house is clean and nice, but it's the view that's fantastic. We could sit and watch the birds, the boats, and the marsh grasses for hours. Gordon is friendly and very responsive. We really enjoyed our stay.
We walked in and started our fun. Great memories were made there!
The home was perfectly clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed. The yard was perfect for spending lots of time outside and the view was serene. It was close to dining, ice cream, boating and Dunkin. All within walking distance. Highly recommend.
The house was very clean when we arrived. Had everything we needed from towels to kitchen necessities. Great view and location to the beach. Only negative for us was that we could not bring our dog. Otherwise it was perfect.
The Blue Heron Cottage was perfect for our family beach vacation. Close to beaches, towns, and parks. Clean and cozy. Gordon was very responsive and easy to talk to. Would definitely come back again!
The house is in impeccable condition. The view is not done justice by the photos, it is spectacular. Nice quiet place, but conveniently located. I would be disappointed if this place is not available on my next trip to Gloucester.
The house was very clean and in the perfect location. Cape Ann Marina is less than a minute away. We liked the property so much we booked for next year before checking out.

great
Loved the cottage and it had everything we needed. You could watch the boats leaving in the morning and watch them come back at night. Swans were seen in the distance and could see all the boats at the marina. Was very close to everything we wanted to see.

Perfectly Ideal
From beginning to end, I couldn't have imagined how amazing this house would be. We originally, accidentally, booked for the wrong weekend and were able to change it for Fiesta weekend in less than a minute once we realized (months later). Gordon allowed us to check in early, as we were trying to beat rush hour traffic coming from Boston. The house was immaculate, perfect accommodations. Gordon even took time out of his busy day to bring us a brand new gas tank for the grill. The location is ideal, 15 minutes ride to Wingaersheek. Less than 5 minutes walking to the Causeway & Mile Marker. We even walked back from Fiesta (downtown) one night (about 30 minute walk).
The yard is beautiful, we were able to host a few friends for a grilled dinner after the beach one day, there is SO MUCH SPACE! Perfect for morning coffees (or mimosas).
My mother made me promise we will rent this house every year, and for longer next time, so I will see you next Fiesta! Thank you again.
Added perk is we met his lovely wife and just so happens she is originally from my same area of Boston, down to the same parish!
P.S. I secretly want to leave a bad review to deter renters because I'm afraid this gem will always be fully booked.

Cute home with amazing views!
We booked this home to be near our son and his family.
The house was newly painted and very clean.
The backyard is a great gathering place with fantastic views.
Dishwasher, washer and dryer came in very handy.
If you are visiting Gloucester, I recommend this property for you lodging choice.

Ideal and Quiet Location
I was fortunate to book this property on very short notice. It was better than the pictures portray. The rooms are clean and well furnished, and the layout of the house is open and breezy. But the true gem is the view over the marsh and river, and the backyard. It feels like an oasis. The owner was very responsive and friendly. I highly recommend this property. Nothing too fancy but everything you need for a visit to a truly wonderful area, and you're minutes from the city and amenities, but in your own quiet spot.

Perfect for a family week together!
We had a wonderful time! Although the temperatures were unbearable some days, we thoroughly enjoyed the house and yard! The beaches are about a 12 minute drive away, not walkable. There was a lot of construction going on, so we visited Stage Fort Park, Half Moon Beach, where my daughter and son-in-law got married last year! Beautiful views! Rockport is not far and a great little town for shopping! We even rented a boat for the day and went fishing and hung in the water at Wingearsheek beach. All beaches have a parking fee, so be mindful of that before you load up the car. I would definitely rent this home again!
