About this property

Large, open floor plan. Water views of Lanes Cove. Walk to Plum Cove beach.

This 950 square foot duplex one bedroom home is deceiving from the outside, once an old store in Lanesville Village now a village home overlooking the Cove. inside it is well appointed remodeled home featuring a large loft master bedroom upstairs and more sleeping and living on the ground floor. Air conditioning throughout~ though with the cove breezes it is unlikely you will need it. There is a large separate eat in kitchen with all the appliances, and almost everything else you may need downstairs.-BYOL (bring your own lobsters). Included are more conveniences, in the kitchen spices, and basic pantry items, in the bath- hair dryer,, towels and linens, a washer and dryer,. Our home features comfortable seating, games, books and more! Close to everything, yet a real vacation spot.
Walk a couple doors down to the package/general store for marinated meats and some wine, settle in on the deck to enjoy the famous sunset over Lanes Cove. Wake up and start at the Plum Cove cafe for coffee on your way to Plum Cove beach, never crowded! Great for families and sea glass hunting! Like a more rugged hike explore the wooded quarries of the Greenbelt - great on a hot day. Lots more a short drive away, like Rockport and Bearskin Neck, large beaches like Good Harbor, Wingarsheek, Cranes and more. Many people come to relax but if you want to visit Rockport, Salem or Boston they are easy to jump to- catch the train for a day jaunt to Salem or Bostona couple miles away (three stations to choose from), Rockport is just a mile up the road as you pass by Lobster Cove.We will consider your dog, but require a special dog security deposit. Dedicated parking for one car and street parking is always available.

John and I purchased this house because we love Lanesville so much! We vacationed here for years, as we like the casual vibe and the mix of friendly, interesting people from artists to lobster men and scientists. The natural beauty and lots of open space close to an intimate village make this a special place. This is not fancy, we were going for beach cottage when we fixed up and furnished our home. We tried to make our place comfortable, and clean and hope you don't work too much. Though you could with internet available. Well stocked with games and beach reading. We really want you to enjoy it as much as we do.
We have our fur kids, so we understand good and bad dogs. We have one of each and will allow yours but expect you to keep your fur kids and real ones on a short leash.

Why they chose this property

We live in North Central Mass and getting to our families place in Falmouth (the other Cape was getting to daunting with traffic). We wanted an escape that we could enjoy that was not over run with summer people. This place is well situated close to everything, with parking, very comfortable and you don't have to fret about it. Close enough not to spend a day getting there but it was 'away' enough to be really relaxing.

What makes this property unique

The best part of the Cove is the warm sheltered water to dabble in. It is not the gorgeous albeit popular beach like Good Harbor or Cranes. Those are close enough to go to, but at the end of the day I take my glass of wine and go sit on the rocks and watch what National Geographic referred to as one of the best places anywhere to watch the sunset. Kayak magazine wrote up the cove too as a 'best of' place to set out. I also enjoy walking around the 'block' ocean side of course-the whole shoreline from the breakwater is conservation and people go sit up to look over Hampton and watch the fireworks Saturday and Wednesday nights. Feeling ambitious, kayak straight across to Wingarsheek. Lanesville is like going back in time, very relaxing.
