Bait and switch?

At the last minute the host called to say there was a “maintenance issue” with the room we had reserved. Instead of the balcony room, we ended up at the rear of the house. Furniture was yard sale stuff, mismatched and broken. No “amenities”. No hairdryer, one bottle of soap in bathroom, no shampoo, no bath mat, mismatched threadbare towels, dirty floor. Air freshener diffuser was empty. Hallway was circuitous and dangerously blocked by a ladder. This place was one step up from a hostel. And certainly not worth what we paid.. Host did offer us a parking space, free.

Studio a block from the beach and restaurants

We only stayed at the property for one night. It is very close to the beach and great restaurants. Communication with the property manager was excellent. We had a few issues there was no TV remote, there was a broken medicine cabinet, and the door lock was hard to get into. There was also some dried food on one of the appliances and the floor was gritty and could have been cleaned better. However with only being there one night the property manager listened to the concerns and said they would take care of it when we left. This is a very small studio apartment with a lot of big furniture. You need to find parking on the street unless you pay for a parking spot. Just watch the signs to make sure you're parking in the appropriate places. It is a busy street. There are a lot of stairs to get to the apartment so I would not suggest this if you have any form of mobility issues. The next door neighbors were very friendly and helpful.
