About this property

Rivers Edge Victorian Inn

About this space
Located on a private scenic lot just blocks from downtown, this property is on the edge of so much: the edge of the Warroad River; the edge of Lake of the Woods; the edge of the country - just 7 1/2 miles from the Canadian Border; and the edge of the 700,000 acre majestic Beltrami Island State Forest. Whether you are in the area to fish, attend a performance at Rivers Edge Performing Arts Center, a hockey tournament, to play golf, or attend an event, you will feel welcome here
The space
The house has a small but well equipped kitchen, a large dining and living room, with one bedroom and a bathroom on the main level. Upstairs you will find three more rooms with a large master bedroom and updated bathroom.

Outside you will find much to do from kayaking to canoeing and paddle boarding. You can fish off the dock or park your boat at the dock. Boat launching and access to the river would be at the Point in Warroad.

In the winter you can ski, skate, fat tire bike or snowshoe the Rivers Bend Skate Path. Or ice fish.
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire property.
Other things to note
Hosts are often available to offer yoga and meditation classes if you wish.

$10 a person or $30 for a small group.

My brother and I took our sons on a fishing trip and stayed at Rivers Edge Victorian Inn. The accommodations fit us perfectly: comfortable space to stretch out, a stocked kitchen, well-appointed and cleaned, easy access with a boat and trailer, spacious lawn with a campfire setting along the river. We would come again, and the fishing was great in early June.

Hockey Weekend

We came up for the high school hockey holiday classic. My wife, son and I stayed here while the team was at a near by hotel within walking distance. Great location, with a rink and start to the River Skate Path right off the front porch. We intended to have the team over to skate, but the weather didn’t cooperate. They did come for a bonfire and outdoor potluck dinner. We enjoyed our two nights here. Lots of character, clean, and well stocked with everything we needed.

Excellent views of the river!

If you're coming to Warroad to check out state parks and forests, this has to be the best place to rest after your hikes! We enjoyed being able to make meals in the kitchen, which has pretty much every tool and utensil you could want, including a pan, pots, baking sheets, tongs, and more. The separate dining room was perfect for both meals and playing games. The hosts stock a few games in the downstairs bedroom, if you're up for a game of Phase 10 or Uno with family or friends. If you're bringing a pet, it's easy to close off rooms that you're not using to avoid letting them roam too freely in unused spaces. The large windows in almost all of the rooms made for great bird-watching for our cat—and ourselves as well! The landscaping and bird feeder was a draw for Yellow Warblers, Eastern Phoebes, Red-Winged Blackbirds, and Robins. Sitting outside on the porch swing or the Adirondack chairs to take in the river view was the highlight of each evening.A couple of accessibility notices, in case it helps: (1) If you use a sleeping aid (white noise machine, CPAP, etc.), it may be hard to find or to reach a plug in a bedroom. Three-prong plugs are also at a premium. (2) If you have issues with stairs, the ones to the second floor are not very deep, and the curved stairs to the left at the top do not have a rail to continue to hang onto. There is a bedroom downstairs along with a bathroom, although be aware that the downstairs bathroom has a claw-foot tub only, no shower.

Our family has rented this property to host family events because of its central
Location, huge yard, water access, and beautiful home for gathering family together. We have also rented skates in the winter and played hockey or skates the river path. We had never thought of owning a BnB . Burned t came on the market we thought - what a great opportunity for us to have the property to use for our family but also to create a space for others to make memories too. This property is so important to the community that we also did not want it to go back to being a private home. So we took the plunge and are just thrilled!!

Why they chose this property

This property is central to everything in Warroad from bike paths to coffee shops and the new Riverside Performing Arts Center. Downtown is a few blocks. It’s close to the hockey arena and access pout to Lake of the Woods and Seven Clans Casino is not far either.

What makes this property unique

It was built by a beloved veterinarian named Doctor Hughes in 1910. He operated his practice in the home. That is why it is called Doc’s.
