Featured on HGTV's The Boise Boys as the iconic "View House," this designer hillside retreat pairs panoramic city views with amenities you don't usually find together: a 6-person cedar barrel sauna, a 4-person hot tub overlooking downtown, two living rooms with fireplaces, and indoor-outdoor flow built for groups and families up to 10.
Designed for the moments you'll remember
Start your mornings with coffee at the floor-to-ceiling glass overlooking downtown Boise. Spend afternoons walking the Boise Greenbelt, exploring local breweries, or catching a Boise State game. End the day in the cedar sauna, then the hot tub, then around the fire pit under the stars. Sunset over the foothills from the deck is the moment guests come back for.
The Location
Set in Boise's quiet Central Rim neighborhood, you are elevated above the city but minutes from everything. Five minutes to downtown restaurants and Whole Foods, walking distance to Albertsons Park and the Boise Greenbelt for river paths, biking, and running. A short stroll to a beloved local dog park. About 25 minutes to the airport.
The neighborhood itself is one of the things guests mention most: tree-lined streets, peaceful, high-end homes, the kind of place where you can take a slow morning walk and forget you are in a city at all.
Sleeping and Living Layout (Sleeps 10)
Primary Bedroom: King bed, TV, stunning views, and direct access to the hot tub from the room.
Bedroom 2: Queen bed.
Bedroom 3: Queen bed.
Bedroom 4: Two full beds, perfect for kids or additional guests.

The Outdoor Spaces

Instructions are on the door of the barrel and walk-through is in your welcome guide.
Hot Tub (4-person)
Set on the deck overlooking downtown Boise. The view is the whole point. City lights at night, sunrise over the foothills in the morning. Direct door access from the primary bedroom so you can roll out of bed and into it. Cover provided, set to 102F by default (adjustable), chemistry refreshed and tested between every guest. Towels and a robe basket are stocked in the primary closet.
The Deck

Thank you for staying with us and for the kind note. If something fell short during your visit we would love a quick message so we can keep improving. Always happy to welcome you back. Hampton
We had an amazing stay at this property! The home is exactly as advertised — the views of the city and mountains are stunning and truly make the space feel special. Everything was spotless when we arrived, and the layout was perfect for our family of five. The hot tub and sauna were huge hits after long days out exploring, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook comfortably at home. The living area was cozy and inviting, with plenty of room for everyone to relax. Great fireplace, easy to use.The host was responsive, friendly, and made the whole process easy. Overall, this was one of the best rentals we’ve stayed in — comfortable, well‑equipped, and in a fantastic location. We’d happily rent here again.

Thank you for staying with us! We enjoyed hosting you guys!!
House was clean and as described. It was the perfect balance between adult and kid. Loved the hot tub and the toys provided. It made a huge difference. Close to downtown without being in downtown. Beds and couches were comfortable. View was amazing and the host was responsive and very accommodating to our circumstances. Would definitely stay here again.

This made our day. The mix of adult comfort and kid-friendly extras is exactly what we aim for, and the hot tub after a long day is our favorite too. Thanks for the trust and please come back. Hampton and the View House team
The house is beautiful and had everything we needed for a group of 6 adults. Location was perfect for getting downtown. Property Manager was very responsive/ communicative. Beautiful views.

Thank you. We love hosting groups that get to enjoy the views together and want guests to feel taken care of start to finish. Glad it landed that way for you. Hampton
Nice home. Noise level was high between the major highway right below and the echos from upstairs tv through the whole house. Only complaint.

Thank you for staying and for the honest feedback. The connector road below does carry on quiet nights, and we are working on softening the sound between floors. Your note helps us prioritize. The view always wins us back, hope to host you again. Hampton
We reserved this property for a small work retreat and after arriving and seeing the condition of the home could not comfortably stay and needed to find alternate lodging. The upstairs is terribly hot. We turned on the mini split and after an hour it was still 82 degrees. The walls are very dirty and full of scrapes and scuffs. The black sheets in the upstairs bedroom are pilled and have pet hair all over them. Each of the other beds had pet hair and human hair. The floor around the toilet had hair, the bathtubs had hair. The ceiling air return vent is covered in filth and spider webs. The mini split unit has two black handprints on it. The kitchen table is stained and dirty. The deck is in disrepair with loose tiles and worn out furniture. The entire yard of grass is completely dead. The two trash cans out front were overflowing with garbage. The driveway is covered in smashed berries from the nearby trees. We regularly rent from VRBO and have not had such a bait and switch experience. We asked the host for a partial refund and he declined. See attached photos.

Hi Hillary,
Thank you for your feedback. We take every guest experience seriously and strive to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort—reflected in our 30 five-star reviews across Vrbo and other rental platforms(current rating there 4.96*), with consistent praise for the cleanliness and quality of the home.
Upon learning of your concerns, we immediately dispatched our cleaning team to refresh all linens and ensure everything was up to our standards. We always aim to make guests comfortable and wish you had reached out by phone before leaving the property, as many of the concerns you raised could have been resolved quickly with a simple conversation.
Regarding temperature: the home is equipped with central air, multiple mini split units, and a whole house fan system. The fan is designed to bring in cooler outdoor air but should not be used on hot 90-degree days as it counteracts the AC. After your early departure, I personally arrived at the house within 20 minutes and found the thermostat set to 78, all mini splits turned off, and the whole house fan running—explaining much of the discomfort.
We conducted a full post-stay audit and found one hair strand, which was promptly cleaned. We did not find the level of cleanliness issues described, and as such, did not find grounds for a refund. We understand your disappointment, but we stand by the accuracy of our listing and the integrity of our hosting approach.
We’re always available to help resolve issues in real time, and encourage future guests to reach out so we can ensure a great experience.
Thank you,
Cary
This property has an amazing view! Everything about the property was satisfactory and the host was quick to answer any questions I had. My family of 5 was very comfortable and enjoyed all the amenities- jacuzzi, sauna, stocked kitchen, etc. I would highly recommend this home to others. The only draw back I found was the location to the greenbelt trail. I thought, based on satellite images, the trail could be accessed directly from the house but because the house is on a hill and the trail is fenced at the bottom of the hill, accessing it was approx. a half mile away through the neighborhood.

About the host
Hosted by Hampton
Hi, I'm Hampton, and I host the View House along with our local team.
Back in the 2010s I lived on vacation rentals for almost three years, hopping cities and learning what makes a stay great (and what falls flat). When we built out the View House, I poured every one of those lessons into the property. Real beds. Stocked kitchens. Clear instructions. Fast responses. The little details that turn a vacation rental into somewhere you actually want to be.
We have been hosting at the View House for two years and love every chance to welcome new guests to Boise. Whether you are coming for a family reunion, a work week, a long weekend, or just the view, we'd love to host you. Reach out anytime, we respond within the hour.
Why they chose this property
Central Rim is one of those rare Boise neighborhoods where you can step out the door for a quiet walk under tree-lined streets, then be at downtown restaurants five minutes later. It is elevated above the city, so the views stay yours, and high-end enough that the streets are calm at night.
What sold me on this spot specifically: you can walk to Albertsons Park, drop down to the Boise Greenbelt for a riverside run, hit a favorite local dog park, then drive five minutes to Whole Foods or any of the breweries and restaurants downtown. About 25 minutes to the airport when it is time to head home.
If you want a Boise stay where the morning coffee view is the first thing you remember and you never feel like you are far from anything, this is the corner of the city for it.
What makes this property unique
The View House was built and designed for HGTV's The Boise Boys, which means the home you are looking at is the actual TV property, not a copy. Designer interiors, custom finishes, and the kind of architectural details that came from a build, not a renovation.
But the day-to-day moments are what guests come back for: morning coffee at the floor-to-ceiling glass overlooking downtown, an afternoon in the 6-person cedar barrel sauna, sunset in the 4-person hot tub with the city lights coming on below, ending the night around the fire pit.
The home sleeps 10 across 4 bedrooms, with two living rooms, two fireplaces, a fully stocked kitchen, a dedicated workspace with a desk and external monitor, and a fenced yard for pets. Built for groups but also works for couples who want a high-end weekend, or families who need room to spread out.
