About this property
Recently renovated East Side gem- walk to Brown, Wayland Sq, and more!
Adjacent to Brown University's Ladd Observatory, this single-family home showcases a Dutch Colonial exterior with a contemporary interior design. Renovated in 2023-24, the home features high ceilings and ample natural light. The great room combines dining and living spaces with a generous chef's kitchen and island seating for five. Situated in the heart of the east side of Providence, it is within walking distance of coffee shops, bakeries, restaurants, and boutique shops. Visiting someone at Brown? You are just under a mile to campus. Wake up to enjoy a cup of coffee on the front porch swing or enjoy a glass of wine and read a book by the fire after a day in town. Feeling competitive? Head down to the basement for a game of pool - another space offering a wet bar and large TV to watch the game. If you just want to relax, use the soaking tub in the primary suite for some R&R.
This four-bedroom house offers 3 full baths and 2 half bathrooms, providing plenty of space for renters. On-site parking is available for 7 cars.

About the host
Hosted by Maribeth Balon
Hi - Maribeth and Drew here! We spent the past year pouring our hearts into renovating this home. Born and raised in RI, we want others to explore all that Rhode Island has to offer and have a comfortable home that puts you in the center of it all. I am an event planner and happy to offer additional help in ensuring you are making the most of your stay. Drew is an independent contractor that picked out every detail of our Observatory home, with an eye toward entertaining, outdoor enjoyment, and child/pet friendly spaces.
Why they chose this property
We have lived in this neighborhood for the past 8 years. Our previous home was six blocks away, and our love for this neighborhood has kept us firmly rooted here. Everything you need is within walking distance: shops, restaurants, and parks.
What makes this property unique
We live on a quiet street with minimal traffic. Our next door neighbor is the Ladd Observatory. Owned by Brown University, the grounds are open to the public and park-like setting. It is a quiet, beautifully maintained public property with mature plantings and an historic main building. The Observatory building is also open to the public on Tuesday nights, and offers a unique experience for both new and experienced astronomers.
