This was a fantastic home base for our trip. The view of the mountains is awesome, and the yard was spacious and fenced for our dog. We got some pretty nice bird pictures just walking around the neighborhood, including hummingbirds in the yard. The trip to Fred Vaca Park also yielded some nice sightings. Trips into town are easy, and you've got a 20 min head start towards the ski area (which was hiking for us, in August). Moira is very pleasant, and, though we didn't really need anything extra, I can tell from our interactions that she'd step right up. I've stayed in adobe houses before. If you haven't, do some research or ask Moira re: the best ways to manage temps in the summer. We found it best to keep the pool area closed off, both for safety of our dog and to keep the bedrooms cooler. Adobe is an awesome insulator if you take advantage of the cool nights.
