In Eddyville's serene haven, a captivating three-bedroom retreat offers breathtaking lake vistas and limitless opportunities for exploration. Just a short walk from the serene shores of Lake Barkley and the Cumberland River, you'll find endless opportunities to relax, explore, and create unforgettable memories.

As you step inside, you'll be greeted by a fully stocked kitchen, complete with a stove, oven, refrigerator, and all the necessary appliances to whip up delicious meals. Unwind by the cozy fireplace or enjoy a movie night on the smart TV with satellite/cable channels. Refresh in the two bathrooms, complete with towels and take advantage of the in-unit washer and dryer. And Lucky Lake now has Fiber Internet!!!

The drive is steep so no trailers can be taken down it but there is plenty of parking for trailers at the top. You are in a valley and it is private with deer, birds and other wildlife passing through. There is an outdoor shower and a fire pit.

Lucky Lake House is on McNabb Bay which is essentially half way between Prizer Point Marina and Eddy Creek Marina. Mineral Mounds State Park and great golf course is just up the road. If the core of engineers has dropped the water out of the lake Dryden Creek Boat Ramp is less than a mile from Lucky Lake house and very convenient.

Eddyville has Venture River Family Water Park and Cadiz has many antique shops to explore.

We had a good time. Was slightly disappointed that the listing stated an old geezer row boat and 2 kayaks. Which was why we chose this rental over others and the boat was gone & 1 kayaked had a hole so was unusable. Owner offered to bring another or repair but we bought an inflatable boat and had a good time anyway. Pictures made it look bigger but there was enough room for everyone and the lake access was nice. Definately a steep driveway lol. Quiet & peaceful just what we needed.

We enjoyed our stay in the lake house. It was spacious with a large desk overlooking the yard with deer, squirrels, and lots of birds. Beds and other facilities were great!

Weekend

Friends get a way

We had another wonderful trip with two other couples. This is our 4th trip down to this property and we love this particular portion of the lake. House was clean and ready for us. Will definitely be back.

Private and Peaceful

We had a great time. We lucked out and the weather was in the mid 70s/low 80s for our two nights in late June, so we spent the majority of our time out on the big deck. The interior was perfect for our group of four adults. It kind of felt like being on a space ship going up that driveway. LOL

2024 Barkley

The inside of the house was perfect, had everything we needed. The smoke detector upstairs needed a battery, which we did not have, chirped our entire stay and had to be silenced twice a day. It would have been nice if the deck furniture had been cleaned before our arrival. None of the deck furniture could be used until cleaned. This was our second time staying and would consider staying longer if the outdoor areas were better kept up. The grill drip tray was left on the deck full of grease along with candles turned upside down on the table which had melted all over the table. There were multiple broken boards on the walkway to the dock.

The woods and lake

This locations offers a great balance Of wooded seclusion and lakefront. The property is accurately described. Yes, the driveway is steep, but manageable. The kitchen is small, but efficient and very well stocked. The deck is a great place to read, relax and watch the lake. Communication with the owner is great and the check-in process is easy. The place has tons of towels and every kitchen item you need. Also a good amount of TP and paper towel to get you started. You’ll find they leave some stuff from prior renters like salt/pepper, seasonings and even some cornmeal and flour in the freezer if you catch a fish big enough to fry. The only negatives were the bugs and the internet. The internet is super slow, as in almost unusable. As someone who often has to work remotely, I like to mention internet speed. The bugs are nothing the owner can control. It’s a wooded lot on a lake. We had never to been to this area at this time of year so I didn’t know what to expect. Too many bugs for me. The outdoor area was unusable after dark and we were hesitant to even open the door for fear of letting them all in. That said, I would recommend this property for anyone who knows what to expect regarding the bugs... it may not be for me.

driveway was difficult to go down. House was nice but a little on the dirty side. plenty of space to spread out and husband and grandson loved the fishing. overall we had a very nice time at this location.

Great week at the lake

My family and I really enjoyed our stay here. Property was perfect for our needs with a covered dock for the boat, room for the dog to run and a nice home with newer appliances and a large grill with places to relax both inside and out.

This is our new favorite place. The house was clean and homey, the grounds are lovely, and we enjoyed the ease of having our boat in the private dock and coming back and forth. We will be back!

Private - Wonderful Place to Stay

This place is so private and very nice. Has everything you would need. The boat dock is a plus! The boat ramp is only 1.5 miles away at Dryden Boat Ramp. When water level is up you can leave your boat at the dock. Perfect for a family or for a girls trip! The host is AWESOME....she is fantistic to communicate with! Any questions you might have....she will respoind asap! We will come back again! Loved the place (otherthan the very very steep hill to get to it!) BUT worth it! Take your boat hitch off, or you will drag when going back up the hill!

Beautiful location and helpful host

Our family enjoyed our time at this property. The renovations to the house were great and, while it was slightly smaller than we'd envisioned, it worked well. Plenty of towels, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, etc. where most homes do not offer these amenities. The host was responsive and helpful. I loved that the property was pet-friendly! The grounds and dock need attention. It is a large property, so plenty of space for dogs and children to play and explore. The deck spindles do not go all the way to the deck floor so small children and dogs could be injured or fall through. The dock does not have stairs, and a portion of the bumper was not attached; exposing nails. We were able to swim and fish safely despite that. The fire pit was great for s'mores but someone had burned cabinets and there were nails/screws and hinges in the dirt on one side. Again, we could safely use the firepit by keeping pets and people away from the side with the hazards. I brought safety issues to the host's attention; she was responsive and seemed willing to address them for future guests. The cove itself is beautiful and very peaceful - not much boat traffic and we enjoyed floating on the water and kayaking. The driveway is incredibly steep and I recommend checking your brakes before arriving - mountain-grade incline for certain. We could get up and down - we have four-wheel drive vehicles and the pavement was dry. If the issues mentioned are addressed, I will stay again! Great location!

I love all water activities and currently spend time in KY, IN, TN or FL. I am always doing something on or near water and the lake is one of my favorite getaway places. No crowds, no traffic, and only the sounds of boats or fish jumping on my hook.

Why they chose this property

Lucky Lake House was purchased in 2002. The goal was to find a place that was on the lake, had a dock, had privacy and wasn't so large that it would take a day to clean. When we saw the for sale sign at the top of the hill but could not see the house a good feeling came into my heart. The realtor said some where afraid of the steep drive and I thought 'there are tons of steep drives around here' but none that has such a great place at the bottom of the hill.
