We travel not to escape but to explore

This magnificent penthouse apartment has the 'wow" factor you have been looking for and is a perfect starting point for getting to know the area. Our past guests love our development of just 40 units for its friendly staff and owners and since we are just outside of the main town, you will enjoy a more quiet location. Many of our owners are Canadians and Americans so most of the communication here is in English. With 24-hour security and generator backup, an onsite administrator, maintenance staff, and concierge service, it would be hard to beat the level of safety, support, and security that we are able to offer.

Featuring 25-foot soaring vaulted ceilings, oversized windows, and sliding doors to let in lots of light and complemented by a spacious open concept layout. Featuring a white leather couch and love chair, 3 LCD TVs (2 smart TVs), LED lighting throughout, high-efficiency inverter AC units in the living room and both bedrooms, granite countertops, and a king-size bed in each bedroom with a super comfortable Sealy Posturepedic pillow-top mattress. The kitchen has a gas stove, a Panasonic inverter microwave, and a Samsung fridge. Also included is your own stackable washer/dryer in the apartment, as well as a reverse osmosis drinking water system in the kitchen for your convenience and good health. Each bedroom has a computer workstation and free fiber-optic WiFi with a base upload rate of 7 Mbps upgradable to100 Mbps. The outdoor patio has 2 reclining loungers and a round teak dining table with 4 chairs.

On the common grounds, you will find a gorgeous pool with about a dozen lounge chairs and umbrellas as well as under the shade of some coconut trees on a sand dune overlooking the ocean. Next to the pool is Martini's Restaurant, which serves excellent American/Caribbean food and even delivers to your room. Of course, there is a happy hour every evening from 4-6 pm. In front of the development is a sandy beach perfect for strolling on the beach for miles or a dip into the warm ocean. Best of all, we are located just 25 minutes away from the Puerto Plata International Airport.

Please note that due to popular demand by our retirees and work from home guests who prefer a bit of extra space, we quote a more affordable 'base pricing' for 2 people only. For additional guests, we charge $18/person/night for up to a total of 4 people staying in the apartment.

Pictures do not lie

The pictures online could not be more accurate. You walk on that porch and see nothing but ocean. Place was very clean. Stocked with all accessories you need to be comfortable. Security and staff made you feel welcome, safe and helped where needed. Restaurant on site is a great added bonus. Would highly recommend this rental!

Fabulous Vacation!

We had a wonderful vacation! A tranquil setting with an incredible view of the ocean from the balcony. The homeowners were very responsive. The condo was (frankly) better than the photos! Martini's Restaurant was a favorite gathering place for all the local homeowners, and we had most of our meals there. The daily happy hour was a must! We are planning on returning again next year! We have had great luck with the HomeAway web site, and properties rented through them.

A piece of paradise.

The apartment was excellent. Just as described and very well maintained. In fact the entire complex was well maintained. Also the apartment is WELL equipped with QUALITY items throughout. It didn’t lack anything that we needed. The onsite restaurant had good food at reasonable prices, daily specials and happy hour. I have only one negative issue. The screen was missing from the patio sliding door so we couldn’t enjoy the cool ocean breezes while in the living room or dining room. Overall I give this property a definite 5 stars. Having a comfortable, clean, modern, quality apartment certainly made our vacation more enjoyable.

Fantastic Holiday

This is our 5th year coming to the DR, but our 1st time staying at Cabarete East. This condo was amazing. I love the quiet location just outside of Cabarete - yet still close enough to go to town - by beach, by cab.... Being on the top floor gave us the most spectacular view of the ocean and the pool. The ocean lulls you to sleep at night. The pool is clean and very inviting, and grounds are very well maintained. The restaurant has great food at very reasonable prices. The staff are very helpful. The condo itself has every amenity you could ever want/need. The furnishings are top class, especially the beds - very comfortable. We ate most of our meals on the balcony. Such a treat. The beach is beautiful. We did a lot of walking and also loved watching the kids play baseball there in the late afternoons. The owners have been very helpful and generous to accommodate us at every turn. I would absolutely recommend this condo to anyone who wants to be pampered. Thank you so much for making 2018 a blessed holiday.

Magnificent Condo

This condo was amazing! Everything shown in the list is accurate and beyond. Each room is wonderfully decorated with all the amenities you’ll ever need. The kitchen is well stocked with all the cookware and dishwater you’ll need. Martini’s is a great place to catch happy hour, Tuesday Tacos or just a snack. Town is an easy walk down the beach or along the roadway. The entire staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcomed and safe. The condo is definitely one of the best we’ve rented and plan to return soon.

Sehr schöne Wohnung, entspricht genau der Beschreibung. Traumhafter Meerblick. Restaurant

Sehr gute Kommunikation mit Jens Eigentümer der Wohnung. Die Anlage liegt ca 3 Minuten außerhalb von Cabarete ruhig direkt am Strand. Wohnung Sehr gepflegt. Jeden Mittwoch wird die Wohnung gereinigt. Wir waren 4 Wochen dort und haben den wöchentlichen Bettwäschwechsel genutzt, der nur in Absprache gemacht wurde, kosten 5 Dollar. Reinigung dagegen war im Mietpreis inbegriffen. Wir haben das Restaurant am Pool oft besucht und können es weiterempfehlen. Der Komplex ist rund um die Uhr bewacht und wir haben uns sehr sicher gefühlt. Sehr schöne Pool Anlage.

Wonderfully Relaxing

Property was exactly what we were hoping to find. The setting is exactly as pictured. Beautiful ocean views through the palm trees with the sound of the ocean all day and all night. Bedding was comfortable, linens were plentiful and of reasonable quality. Kitchen is equipped well enough to prepare meals if you choose to do so. Plenty of space throughout the condo and on the balcony. Air conditioning works well, if needed. Some nice touches that make daily life a bit more enjoyable, like bluetooth speaker, relatively modern smart televisions, and the like. All of the on site staff that we interacted with are super nice. Cleaning staff, security staff, bar/restaurant staff . . . all really nice. Jens (the owner) was quick to answer any questions we had via email, and also very accommodating with a couple of requests we made. The process of renting was, from start to finish, as easy as could be. If we ever have occasion to return to this region of the Dominican, we will definitely stay here again. A big thanks to everyone involved.

Stunning Views!

We have rented many homes over the years and this was the best home for many reasons. The home is not only beautiful with panoramic windows overlooking the sea, but contained absolutely every amenity one could want. There were three a/c units and the condo was always pleasantly cool. In addition, the owner provided bedside fans for white noise. The decor was superb! The furniture including couches and bedding was very comfortable. The condition of the condo was spotlessly clean! Cable tv enabled us to watch baseball which was very much appreciated! We enjoyed Martini's bar/grill on a daily basis and the employees were so friendly and accommodating. Finally, the owners were so responsive and accessible. Highly recommend this home!

The condo is beautiful. There is a small Resturant right next to the pool that could get you through your vacation. The staff there is lovely. The entire property is filled with great staff. The owners of the condo kept on top of everything thing for us. We hope to return again.

Fantastic place, will come again next year!

We had a wonderful stay in this quiet and clean apartment. The apartment is well furnished and has a well-equipped kitchen which made cooking fun. We prefered to make our own healthy meals from fresh ingredients over going out. The patio was a perfect place for morning coffee and for enjoying the fantastic ocean views. We enjoyed walking on the beach every day and doing yoga nearby under some palm trees. We made lots of friends as many expats live here and there is a positive vibe. We highly recommend staying here and will be back next year.

I traveled the world racing Windsurfers in the '80-'90s, and also coached the Ontario and Canadian teams leading up to the '96 Olympics. In 1991 I graduated from the University of Waterloo with a B.Sc. degree in Kinesiology, followed by becoming a Doctor of Chiropractics. I married my University sweetheart over 29 years ago and now have 3 grown children, who like their parents love to travel. They all attended the International School in Sosua after moving to the Dominican Republic in 2006 on a dare to my wife. We now split our time between Canada and the DR, enjoying the best that both places have to offer. It would be our pleasure to host you and share some of our experiences with you.

Why they chose this property

After traveling around the world my wife and I decided that Cabarete in the Dominican Republic was the ideal place for us to own a property. The weather is perfect here, and we like the lush vegetation and beautiful beaches. Except for a few holiday weekends, the area is uncrowded, which compared to Thailand and some places in Europe we have traveled to recently, is a huge plus. The locals are friendly and wonderful and it is one of the most affordable places in the Caribbean.

What makes this property unique

The Cabarete East Oceanfront Community is unique in that it is located just outside of the town center, which can get very noisy at night. The location and setting are stunningly beautiful, with miles of beaches to explore. From collecting amber to humpback whale watching in February or lying poolside with a tropical drink, this is a great place to relax and recharge your batteries. For more adrenaline-packed activities, you can kiteboard, surf, and mountain bike nearby trails right from our home.
