About the host

My wife and I are long term (over 50 years) residents of Alaska. My wife came to the interior with her family when her dad was stationed at Eielson Air Force Base. I came to the interior with my family as well when my father accepted a job as a pediatrician in a local clinic. My wife and I met in our mid 20's, married and raised two kids that are now adults.
We have enjoyed many activities over the years including watching our kids in various sports and activities, fishing, flying, running, snowmobiling and skiing both downhill and cross country. We are semi-retired and spend quite a bit of time traveling in the United States and around the world.
I spent a career in the solid waste (trash) business working for the local government and my wife has her own accounting and consulting business.
We hope you will visit the interior and enjoy and experience the many wonderful sites and activities.

Why they chose this property
Our rental home is close to both Fairbanks, AK (~7 miles) and North Pole, AK (~7 miles) and only ~4 miles from the back gate of Ft. Wainwright. It is an extremely quiet neighborhood and private.
What makes this property unique
Moose wonder through routinely, and the chances to see the aurora are excellent when they are out right from the house away from any nearby lights.
