About this property
Awesome sun-filled, newly-painted main floor near GTNP, Wilson, and Snake River
This light-filled end unit condo is cared for lovingly and impeccably. Perfectly located between the town of Jackson and Grand Teton National Park and 3 miles from Snake River access and "R Park" on the river, this 1 bedroom condo is best suited for two adults with three guests comfortably accommodated. The condo is an on the lower level in one of the newer condo buildings in the Aspens and is always cool during summer days, so air conditioning is not needed. A large floor fan is available if you want to be cold, and a Coway large air filter is in the living area. From the front deck are great views of the mountains. A queen-size sofa bed is in the living room. The condo has an upscale and fully equipped kitchen featuring stainless appliances, quartz counters, African mahogany cabinets, and a natural tile floor. The bathroom has twin china sinks, w/d, and quartz counters. The full length tiled walk-in shower with a sitting bench is tiled from floor to ceiling with tempered glass. The bathroom is painted in a light shade of blue and has original art work and photography. The bedroom's queen-size mattress has a gel covering over a firm Posture-pedic mattress and hypoallergenic padded mattress pad for a softer feel. The bed has an organic duvet cover, down comforter, and cotton coverlets. The living room is decorated with beautiful artwork by Western artists and a combination of Western and contemporary furnishings. The Sony TV is HDMI (cable) with an accompanying Sony sound bar. The fireplace is especially welcome in the winter months whereas in the summer months we love being out on the deck during the long evenings after we have recreated in the valley or returned from dinner at one of the great local restaurants . A large dining table comfortably seats four, and there is a counter with red leather bar stools and hanging art deco lights. A coffee house , independent book store, several small restaurants, and a market + deli are a few minutes' walk from the condo. Teton Village is 5 miles away -- where there is a famous summer music festival, hiking, restaurants, and a chance to paraglide, mountain bike, or go up in a hot air balloon. If you bring or rent bikes, there is a storage area under the outside stairwell where you can lock your bikes. And when you least expect it when you look out the windows, you may see a moose munching on blueberry bushes or a fox! World class skiing is just 5 miles down the road in Teton Village and cross country skiers have an abundance of choices of places nearby to ski (or snowshoe).

About the host
Hosted by Susan McKay

I have lived in Wyoming since 1966, and my daughters were born and raised here. I am retired from the University of Wyoming where I was a professor for 35 years. We love to hike and bike and eat at the wonderful JH restaurants. Sitting on the little front deck is our summer delight as we watch the aspens quivering and enjoy this beautiful place. In winter months, the moutains are clearly visible from the condo.
Why they chose this property
The condo is beautifully decorated and so comfortable and convenient to everything. Want to bike ride? The bike path that winds through the valley is accessible directly from the condo. Feel like rafting or fishing? The Snake River is a few miles away and in very warm weather, people like to have picnics on "Wilson Beach" or explore the ponds and trails at R (Rendezvous) Park which borders on the Snake River. There is a nature area on the East bank of the Snake River with long walks/runs for those inclined, and you will probably see at least one bald eagle. Want to shop or hunt for beautiful art? The town of Jackson is a 10 to 15 minutes drive (traffic can be congested in the summer) with an array of galleries and fine restaurants.
What makes this property unique
We chose this property because we had rented in the Aspens for years and loved the location. When we first walked into our condo, we fell in love with its quiet beauty and the views (though the aspen trees have grown since then and the view is now best in the winter when the leaves are gone). The condominium is in a building with just 3 other units and is located away from the road so it feels quite private and is quiet. Walking around the Aspens is a very pleasant way to start or end your day. The Aspens Market is a short walk as is Persephone, a coffee shop/restaurant, and small shops and a sushi restaurant. If you prefer public transportation, the START bus stop is nearby.
