Black Bear Townhome (End Unit) across from Purgatory - Views - Ski Shuttle

Black Bear (Unit 78) is located directly across the highway from Purgatory Resort and is a perfect base for your vacation no matter the season. Our townhome features 3 bedrooms & 2.5 bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen that opens to the living space and dining area, giving you plenty of space to relax.

The townhome home is part of the resort so you have access to free on-demand shuttle service to Purgatory Ski Resort but since it is across the highway you have the privacy and additional space a townhome affords (it’s part of a duplex). At 8,900 feet of elevation, the home is a gateway to an amazing winter playground and also serves as the perfect summer retreat, with a million acres of national forest land at your doorstep offering all your favorite mountain activities. It’s only a 2 minute walk to Twilight Lake for fishing and paddle boarding and as well as Purgatory Flats Trailhead, one of the most scenic hikes in the San Juan Mountains. Horseback riding, jeep trails, an alpine slide, epic mountain biking and the Purgatory Inferno Mountain Coaster are all less than 5 minutes from the home.

Master Bedroom - California King Bed with Ensuite Bath
2nd Bedroom - King Bed
3rd bedroom - Queen Bed

The townhome is not pet friendly - please do not bring pets.

For an optional 4% resort fee, you will have access to the Durango Mountain Club (open year round) which includes an outdoor heated pool with slide, outdoor hot tub and workout facility. When booking, just advise if you would like us to add the additional 4% resort fee.

Book at least a week and a 10% discount is automatically applied (Excludes Christmas/New Years).

Please note that, like most properties in the area, this home does not have AC, as it is uncommon for homes at this elevation. Temperatures inside the property are easily managed by using fans and opening the windows at night when temperatures drop into the 40s.
