Good location to beach

Family vacation, location was good and convenient. Not a very quiet neighborhood at all. Was plenty of room for the 8 of us staying there. Reasonable price.

SHORT STAY

The location of the house is in a good area, the house is roomy but needs a some love. The main sticking point of our stay is that when we arrived, the kitchen sink was clogged and smelled like vomit. Not sure what was going on there as no notes or an explanation was given regarding that situation. Then later we dealt with the American Legion hall next door blasting loud recorded music late into the night. Glad I brought a blue tooth speaker along with a white noise app to combat that. Property needs to be upfront with potential customers regarding what I have said here. If you don't have functional plumbing, let your customers know.

One night in Galveston.

This property needs some maintenance! The first thing we noticed was that it was hot in the house. The thermostat was set at 70, air conditioner was running, but it was 85 in the home. I messaged the owner and got a message back about the missing shower door. No response to my air conditioning questions. There were extension cords everywhere, running to lamp, and draped over the headboards. When we tried to turn on the ceiling fan, we heard the electricity cracking, but the fan did not move. We tried to turn on the track lighting in the other living area, then they flickered and would not say on. This house has some serious electrical issues and is not safe to stay in. In my phone conversation with the owner, I discussed my concerns with the electrical issues and safety of the home, she did not flinch at my comments, was only concerned the maintenance worker was not able to get into the home to address the missing shower door. Believe me, that shower door was the least of my concerns with this home. I told the owner we had closed the door, turned the knob to ensure it was locked and left the home to find a new place to stay. I don't know why the maintenance worker was not able to get in, but this was her only concern. I didn't ask for a refund, but given the home is not fit to be rented, I was a bit surprised that some kind of refund was not offered. This could be a cute property but it’s a fire danger and should not be used as a VRBO property until repairs are made
