Great Vacation

The house is large enough for 8 people to have plenty of space. The kitchen was well stocked and a nice size. The house is right on the beach, and you don't have to walk very far to the water. We all had a great time.

After many years of vacationing in this area, this home was definitely one of our favorites! This house was a perfect fit for our family of 8. The layout of the bedrooms and bathrooms were perfect. It was nice having an upper and lower deck to view the ocean as well. We will definitely be back!

Amazing location

Right on the beach. The beach behind the house is just for those who stay at the house so you don’t have to get out early to save a spot. The house is nice and the deck is trex decking not wood which is wonderful especially when you have a toddler. Our stay couldn’t have been better. Highly recommend this house.

This house was perfect for our family and teenage friends! Our daughter brought 2 friends and 3 more joined later in the week. Very private beach in front of the house. Kids had a great time biking as well. Wonderful restaurants and shopping are a short drive!

I'm spoiled now! This was our first gulf front beach house rental. Allen House did not disappoint. It was perfect for two families totaling eight. It had everything we needed, and then some. Will definitely choose Allen House again!

This house wants for very little if anything. It is not over the top luxurious, but it is lovely and very comfortable. You can't get more on the beach than this and its location is away from all the tourist spots, but close enough to them to visit if you choose. All in all it was a delightful ten days and a wonderful place to spend time with friends who you don't get to see often enough.

Amazing location!

By far the best location we have ever stayed at on a beach. The house location could not be any better than what it is- directly 100 feet from the gulf front, with crystal white sandy warm beach (never burning hot sand). The design of the house is nice. The house needs up-keeping. The rooms upstairs smelled like urine/ mildew, with clogged up bathtubs. The kitchen cabinets smelled bad.

The beach house was spotless! A fully stocked kitchen, beach chairs, laundry room, no need to bring anything except shorts and flip flops. Having your own private beach area was perfect for entertaining guests. The ocean air was so breezy, no need for the A/C. Lots to do down the road in Seaside, along with any type of restaurant you desire. Beds were comfortable and the house is big enough that our group of 8 still had a bit of privacy when needed. Absolutely fell in love with the house and the area. What a perfectly planned wedding for our son, along with the weather for a vacation. This truly is a five star beach rental you can trust ! Beautiful home, directly on the beach

Our family truly enjoyed our week in early March. Some in our group swam, temps in 68-70, like California, perfect for walks on the beach. We rented chairs everyday on our sunny week. The home worked out well, loved the upper balcony, den upstairs as well as the large wrap around deck downstairs. We even enjoyed wonderful massages (lady came to our home)in the upper balcony area for all the ladies one day. Great gift from my daughters for my birthday! The kitchen was equipped well for, layout of home perfect and property management gets 5 stars for shipping home something left accidentally. They are great to work with and happy to help in any way. We had 3 cars to park outside and this was the only concern , with one way in and out. If the owner could add a turn around, would be fabulous. Don’t miss this getaway over a little inconvenience!! We would love to come back and spend a week again with our family in this beach home that breathes ocean air, and serenity.

Beautiful location. Fantastic beach house.

The Allen house is spacious, beautiful and extremely comfortable on one of the most remarkable beaches in the Destin area. It is perfect for a large family or two couples with plenty of privacy. The ocean is thirty yards outside your back door and the lake is across the street from your front door. Seaside and Destin are close by and there are many restaurants even closer. The only negative is that we received no information from the management. We had to call for our code to enter the house. There was no printed information concerning the WiFi, what was required by us to upon leaving or what time checkbout was. Also there was almost no toilet paper or other necessities in the house. Our first event was a trip to Walmart for napkins, dish soap and extra toilet paper as there was only one roll in the bathrooms. Also foil and any other paper essentials for the kitchen had to be purchased. For one of the best beach houses we have stayed in, it was the most haphazardly managed properties. However, this is not reason enough to pass up this property for your next vacation, you will not regret making the Allen house your choice for a beach front retreat

Great Home for Families

This was the perfect house for our family of six and my parents for our week long vacation. The house is tastefully decorated with comfortable furnishings. It isn't overly fancy which is nice with 4 kids. I wasn't worried they were going to break anything yet it was a very pretty and inviting environment. The bathrooms could use a little bit of updating but overall very happy with the condition of the house. The location is great. Even though the houses around us were all booked with large groups, we felt like we had the most private beach space. It is close to stores but away from the bustle of town. The views from both sides of the house are lovely. We had to do a little bit of cleaning ourselves when we arrived because I am very picky. Mostly wiped down the kitchen counter as some of the bar area seemed to have been over looked and cleaned the windows to maximize the gorgeous view. Other than that, everything was clean. The only caution is that the house is not far from the inlet of the lake behind the house. This leaves much to be desired when wind and waves distribute the algae from the tributary down the beach. That said, from one day to the next the water can change. One day it was algae green, the next crystal clear and probably the most beautiful I have ever seen it on 30a. It literally changes over night. We loved our time at this home and plan to be back!

Fantastic view, location, amenities, spotlessness

This is one of the nicest vacation rental homes, I have ever had the pleasure of staying in...and I am a frequent renter of properties in the U.S. and abroad. I rented this house for 4 old friends (female) to get together. The house is exceptionally well-maintained and furnished with as much of an eye to comfort as to it's lovely decor. The first feature you notice is all of the large windows on every side of the house which bring great light and stunning views of the beach and Gulf. This stretch of the 30-A coast is not as high above the beach as some sections further east. This house sits quite close to the beach, so very convenient to access directly from the house. The kitchen is very well-equipped with dishes, pans, utensils that are in excellent condition and stored in clean, vinyl mesh-lined drawers. Counter space, storage space and big windows make the kitchen a pleasant space for multiple people to work in at the same time. The bedroom layout of this home was thoughtfully designed to afford bathroom privacy for each of the 4 bedrooms. The upstairs bedrooms are described as having a Jack and Jill bathroom, but the only shared space is the large tub/shower room. It is accessed on either side from equally large individual vanity sink/toilet rooms that enter into the bedrooms, so allow plenty of space and privacy. Beds were comfortable and linens of nice quality. Each bedroom had at least 2 large windows. This house sits in a quiet stretch of Dune Allen Beach in which the properties are detached homes vs. condos or other multi-unit buildings. Directly across the street is Oyster Lake which provides another pretty view from the house. Between the views, windows, layout, comfort, and absolute cleanliness, this house was outstanding. I coordinated this stay through Ocean Reef Rentals who were delightful, responsive, and conscientious from beginning to end. Thank you to the Allens and to Ocean Reef.
