Excellent stay. The house is beautiful. The owner is great to work with. And the onsite property management is responsive and friendly. It's a wonderful house that's very spacious for a family but also with nice common areas like the kitchen, patio, and swimming pool that are perfect for everyone to be together. The Pauoa community and larger Mauna Lani property also have everything needed with easy access. We enjoyed our stay and the highest compliment I can offer is we already booked again to return.

Wonderful house for a family getaway. The house provided plenty of privacy as well as great shared space. View from the pool is incredible! Short walk to the beach and Fairmont Orchid. Highly recommend!

Another great stay

We’ve stayed at this house a number of times (which is the highest compliment I can give). The owner and property manager are both extremely responsive. The house is well laid out and kept in great condition. We love breakfast and dinner on the patio looking out on the ocean with Maui in the distance. And being on the Mauna Lani property is great for access to a very good grocery store, restaurants, and beaches. Overall A+

This is a spacious and luxurious home! The house was everything we expected and more. The owner and property management were extremely helpful and lovely to work with. This SPECTACULAR home continues to be our favorite rental on the big island! It’s a tropical luxury home that hits all the right notes with space and amenities to spare. You’ll find my review below and all our glowing opinions still remain - just be aware there is no longer a billiard table. In its place is a beautifully redecorated dining room. No Ka 'Oi!

Everything about our stay, the house, the location, the amenities, the ambience and warm welcome was No Ka 'Oi! That means "The Best" in Hawaiian. The location within the exclusive Pauoa Beach Club offered privacy and amazing views while offering a full club experience and easy access to the beach and restaurants, market, shops, golf and the Mauna Lani Resort. Beautiful Home with great views & amenities

The house and property are beautiful and were perfect for our stay. We really enjoyed the pool, access to the beach, and stunning views of the landscape and ocean from the back patio and pool. The house is a 5 minute walk from the beach, where we'd go on walks in the morning and see sea turtles and explore tidal pools. We also really enjoyed having access to the Puako Beach Club, which features a stunning reef to snorkel and explore. It's a short driving distance to a few other beautiful beaches like Hapuna Beach. The house had everything we needed for a day at the beach, including beach chairs, towels, boogie boards, and umbrellas for the beach, as well as everything we needed to barbecue, cook, and enjoy relaxing family meals together on the patio. Both Stephanie and Katherine were easy to communicate with. I would love to stay here again next time we're on the Big Island.

Incredible House and Location

From the moment we parked in the driveway and received a warm greeting and house tour from Kathleen, we knew it was going to be a special and memorable stay. They would spend their days having a putting contest on the putting green next to the home pool, to using the big green lawn to play soccer or spike ball, then go play volleyball around the corner, and then head over to the beach or the private club pool (all within a 100yds) The home comes fully equipped with multiple beach towels/beach chairs/snorkel gear/ boogie boards etc. As for meals, we had dinner reservations for each night, however, the boys all wanted to cook/grill at home and swim and play at the house. This house has the best appointed kitchen I have seen at a house. All types of glasses and plates, actual sharp cooking knives, all types of pots and pans, and every kitchen gadgets you can think of from blenders, to crockpot etc. We have stayed many times on the Big Island. This house, location, amenities and layout have been the best yet!

The Ultimate Hawaii Vacation Rental

Too may VRBO review are filled with undeserving superlatives. But this incredible Pauao Beach Club Home is truly the ultimate home for a once “in a lifetime” Hawaii family vacation. The location is unbeatable, just steps to the luxury beachfront services of the Fairmont and Mauna Lani, the best restaurants just a few minutes walk away, and world-class golf outside your door. Everyone loved the infinity pool and waterfall hot tub. The beach club in front of the home also offered another resort style pool, a favorite for the adults in our group looking for a quiet place to lounge in luxury. The home is meticulously maintained, artistically appointed, and stocked with everything you need, beach toys, towels, a gourmet kitchen, blackout curtains for sleeping late, golf carts, access keys to the best private beach clubs, garage parking for multiple cars, beautiful koi pond, and so many thoughtful touches for guest’s maximum enjoyment. We loved the private outdoor showers, and the open wall pavilion where we gathered for cocktails, conversation, and games each night. This place is where families make lifelong memories. Thank you for making it available to us.

Paradise found, in Hawaii! Heaven on earth!

Our family (myself, my husband, our 2 kids- 11 yrs & 8 yrs, my brother-38yrs & my parents-both in their 70’s) recently spent 10 glorious days at the Smith residence on the Kahala coast. Our family had been through a devastating year, having just lost my brother suddenly and unexpectedly in September. We were in desperate need of time to come together, grieve and heal. There could not have been a more perfect place on earth for our vacation! My husband and I have stayed at some of the finest resorts & properties around the globe and this property is one of the most stunning we’ve ever seen! In addition to every detail being thought of & perfected...there is a magical, healing energy that permeates every inch of this special space. You will have no reason to ever leave the property. But if you so desire, the location is nothing short of spectacular. You have the beautiful Fairmont hotel a short 3 min walk, at your disposal & the most crystal clear, idyllic ocean lagoon for snorkeling and swimming! Perfect for kids (no waves!) we swam with sea turtles and the most beautiful marine life daily! The owner is so kind and responsive and the property manager, Kathleen went above and beyond to make our stay perfect! The only downside to our stay was having to say goodbye. We cannot wait to return someday, if we are blessed enough to be able to do so! Thank you, Smith family for sharing your piece of heaven on earth with us! We will cherish our memories made there & It will forever be a most special/sacred place to our family! Mahalo!

Fantastic House and Community

This was our second time staying in this house. We love the house and greater resort area and it works great for our family. The house gathering areas are accommodating for our family and the kitchen is incredibly well equipped. But the house is also designed so everyone can retreat to their own rooms or the media room for privacy if needed. The golf carts are a big plus for exploring the greater Mauna Lani property, which offers many restaurants, a well-equipped grocery store, and multiple beaches you can explore. Onsite property manager and the owner are a pleasure to deal with. We have already booked and look forward to our next stay here.

Amazing Home for Large Family and Amazing Location!

This property was superior in every way. The home, the location and all of the amenities were excellent. There was some error in the advertised information on the property and what was actually available, specifically as it related to access to the resort property at the Fairmont Orchid. This was frustrating but we were able to work around and the property owner did compensate us for the misinformation. I also believe it is now changed on the online promo. If you are looking for a great place for a good sized family then this house is a fabulous find. Super well stocked in a dream location and just a wonderful place to make lifetime memories.

Paradise near the ocean

This was our first home rental as a family group, celebrating my Mom’s 85th birthday and it couldn’t have been more perfect. This home has everything you could need for a luxury relaxing stay. Kathleen the property manager gave us a great walk-through and was attentive throughout our stay. The outdoor showers for every room were a hit and having 4 lovely rooms with en-suite bathrooms made for a comfortable stay. First time for our parents and they were blown away with the quality of the home and how much extra time we got with each other…will be back again!

Wonderful house and property

We had a great stay at this house over Thanksgiving. In fact, the highest compliment we can pay is we've already booked to stay again. The house itself is very nice and spacious with great ocean views. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked. And the surrounding area is wonderful. Excellent communication during the booking process with the owner and the local property management was also extremely helpful and responsive during out stay. There is nothing I can complain about with this property and the house and support team definitely earn a 5 star rating!

Big Island Bliss

This spectacular home is a stunningly beautiful island/Balinese single level home with breathtaking ocean/island views that can't be expressed in photos. The house itself is perfectly decorated with Hawaii-inspired art, colors and textures with comfortable sofas, chairs and beds that will delight anyone looking for a place to call home in paradise. From the breathtaking living room, to the expansive kitchen, this home is extremely stocked and organized with EVERYTHING you could wish for in a rental home - and MORE! The heated pool, the tiki torches, the koi pond, the lookout tower, the billiard table, the putting green...you will be wonderfully overwhelmed with what the features oh this gorgeous place. We almost don't want to tell anyone about it so we can rent it again. Our host and Kathleen were also extremely helpful and went out of their way to make out stay the best - Mahalo!

Two families acquired this lovely home after traveling together to the Big Island for the last 12 years. We fell in love with the Pauoa Community from the first time we stepped into the area. We keep all the doors open and enjoy the sites and sounds of Hawaii. We spend all our time on the lanai, enjoying our morning coffee or in the evening barbecuing fresh local fish and watching the sunset. Avid golfers, snorkelers and swimmers, we love that we can walk to everything we need.

Why they chose this property

This custom home reflects the feeling of Hawaii. We fell in love with the custom wood work. The open floor plan of the main living area of the house, yet providing privacy with the bedrooms. The fun factor is off the charts, swimming, putting green and a koi pond keep us all occupied and we rarely feel the need to leave the house. We want you to feel the warmth this home has to offer. We have all the current amenities, but we know you will feel a part of something special. We want you to love the house as much as we do. If the house isn't enough the Pauoa Beach Club amenities will keep you entertained the rest of the time. Finally if you need to leave the gates of Pauoa, you can walk within a mile to nearly anything else you may want to do.
