This is a lovely and spacious house. We loved being within a block of hiking trails which was great for exercise with our dog. The house was well supplied with everything needed. The wooded back yard is exceptional with a lovely deck, screen porch, pond and private walking trail. Very quiet and we slept very well. Wood floors in bedroom area creak loudly. Front steps are steep and hard to navigate when carrying things in and out.
This property is wonderful. We loved the feeling of being in the deep woods. Path going to the river and great outdoor seating and setting at the house. When we visit our son and his family next time, we will be looking to book this home!
Homey home that backs up to the Eco River. Hiking along the river was a favorite activity along with hanging out in the beautiful backyard. It was the perfect place for a family reunion!
Lovely home in Durham, NC. with beautiful landscaped outside area. Sister lives in Chapel Hill and was only about a 20-minute drive. Enjoyed the visits from the neighborhood cats.
Lu’s place is probably my favorite VRBO I’ve stayed in. The home is comfortable and cozy and she has thought of every detail you could think of. Cooking there for my family of 6 was a breeze as she had every tool, seasoning and appliance that you could possibly want and a dining table large enough for all of us. The house backs up to a state park with so much breathtaking wildlife. We must have seen 15 deer while drinking our coffee on the patio. There’s also access to trails along the river throughout the park. The master bedroom had the perfect bed. The perfect softness with plush pillows and warm blankets and it’s huge. We got the pleasure of meeting Lu during our stay and she was a lovely, genuine and warm person. We loved Scooter, the friendly neighborhood cat that would greet us each morning. The neighborhood is super safe and close to everything you need while somehow also feeling private and like you’re in.the middle of a forest. Our younger two kids felt very cool and independent staying in the garage apartment and I loved that it’s accessible from the inside of the main part of the house so that I could still supervise them. We also enjoyed the fire pit in the evenings and found the patio area to be just as comfortable as the inside of the house. I already want to come back!
House is nicely laid out with nice light ving area and decent size bedrooms. Owner who lives next door was very friendly and welcoming but not intrusive. Saw lots of deer road ng both in the front and back of the property.
We had a stay in this cozy house. Loved having first floor bedrooms and safety features w my aging parent. Convenient to all we wanted. Host was close by and responsive and friendly. Lots of outdoor spaces to chill and relax overlooking the woods!
The home was in a good location & in a quiet neighborhood. It was clean but needs some repairs and upgrades. The front porch light didn't work, paint is peeling on the hand rails leading up to the front door. In the master bath the shower doors didn't close all the way, grout was missing on some of the floor tiles, some of the bath towels had stains & pillows in the master bedroom were flat & uncomfortable. My daughter received multiple bug bites while sleeping in her bed & found a beetle in her bedding on our last day.
We had a great time staying at this very comfortable home. Fabulous bed linens and fully stocked kitchen made for a luxurious stay. Plus plenty of run to spread out. Definitely recommend the
The home was quiet and clean. Easy to find and stores/restaurants close by. We wanted to grill one evening however the grill looks like it had never been cleaned and there was mold growing on the grates. The silverware basket in the dishwasher was missing half of the bottom and the silverware fell through. The showerhead in hall bathroom was clogged with lime or other deposits. If these small details were corrected we would probably recommend
We had an excellent stay with our group! Our host, Lu, was fantastic. The home was clean and well-equipped. The neighborhood and yard were beautiful. We would highly-recommend this fabulous property for your stay!
Home was comfortable, Clean and just as it’s advertised.
Positives
- Well, stock kitchen
- Plenty of towels
- Nice TV sets in most rooms
- Grill with gas provided
- owners came over while we were out and left wood for the fire pit
- Lot of deer walking through the property
Negatives
- Not worth mentioning it was a great place
The house was very spacious and clean. It had all the amenities as described. My family really enjoyed it and we plan on renting it again in the near future.
First off, Lu is amazing. A true gold star host who is ultra communicative, has an amazing property, and was incredibly helpful for a couple particular needs.
The space…. Wow. Plenty of room for 3 generations in the home. The backyard is your own oasis to listen to wildlife, deer watch, yoga, read, and forget the rest of the world.
Take an adventure down to the swimming hole- you won’t regret it.
10/10 would return!
Great location near Eno River Park. Took a while to figure access to the park but took full advantage of it. Deck and backyard arrangements allowed outside partying in spite of the NC heat.
My partner and I enjoyed our stay at this property. There were a few minor issues inside. The master shower door didn’t close properly and slippery shower floor. Main bathroom toilet seat could use an upgrade. Nice and clean inside though. Very well stocked on everything you needed. Outside porches could’ve used some spring cleaning but overall I would stay here again.
Tranquil backyard and neighborhood with great trail hiking along the Eno River. Lu was a great property owner and very attentive to any communications.
We really enjoyed staying right on the edge of Eno River State Park. We used the fire pit nightly and enjoyed being able to walk down to the river trail from the neighborhood. We even saw a huge family of deer in the back area.
This is our 3rd stay at this wonderful property & our 2nd Easter. Even with my son living in VA now this was the perfect place to celebrate with his Durham friends & his sister who flew up from college in Tampa. 6 person dining & great kitchen. Comfortable bedding & quiet neighborhood. Deer came around & the local neighborhood cat too. Everyone wants to do it again next year!!!
We were coming town to see friends and wanted to find a place to stay close. We really couldn't have gotten closer as they lived right around the corner on Kinlock. The house was perfect for the visit to allow us to have our friends over. Our daughters were able to hang out in the bunk bed room over the garage. The adults were able to have beer and pizza on the patio on a perfectly lovely night The screened in patio made for a perfect space to sit and chat and catch up. The house was well equipped for everything we needed. It was clean and well appointed. But the best part truly is the back porch, patio, deck and surrounding area. My son, who is not outdoorsy, spent so much time exploring. My daughter and her friend swung in the hammock, giggling and catching up. And even our dogs, who don't typically travel with us, loved the screened in patio to catch some rays and a puppy nap or two. It was incredibly ideal and we can't wait to come back when we can enjoy some fall colors. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us.
We got lucky and the weather is stunning during our stay. But even if the weather wasn't perfect, the property was! A beautiful home, with everything we could want. A gorgeous patio in the back overlooking a forest. A hiking trail right there down to and along the Eno River. And a very nice host (Lu), who was responsive to answer a couple questions I had, and even came over to light the gas fireplace's pilot light. We will stay here again soon. THANK YOU.
