Best dog/beach vacation!

The house is spacious, well stocked kitchen, everything we needed: for 3 adults and 2 dogs. 3 bathrooms was a plus. The beach is very close, great for long walks with the pups. The neighborhood is quiet, clean, and upscale. The large deck overlooking the yard was very comfortable. Just what we wanted! Maria was anlways available and helpful. Planning our next trip now, and this is the place to stay!!

A Home That Has It All

The home truly has everything you need to enjoy a vacation in Cape May. All a family needs are their clothes and food and you’re set. Not having to pack a beach cart, beach chairs, beach bags, bikes, and kayaks made our trip so much easier. If you are spending the week at the bay, the location cannot be beat. Access to the bay and amazing sunsets are seconds away. If you need the beach, you’re about twenty minutes from Cape May and thirty minutes from Wildwood. Our family absolutely would stay again and highly recommend to others searching!

Family Beach Vacation

Cape May was a central meeting point for our family (folks coming from New England, PA, and DC). There were several kids (1 baby and 2 toddlers) and two dogs, and the house was perfect. It was child and pet friendly, comfortable, and located in a quiet neighborhood just a short walk from the beach. We found it very well appointed with kitchen supplies, towels, kayaks, etc. We would not hesitate to recommend this house or stay again. The owners also are extremely nice and helpful.

Great Relaxing Getaway

We just got back from our stay and can't wait to go back. This was our family's first time staying along the bay and we have become converts. It is peaceful and full of nature. We went into Cape May's downtown a few times but craved to go back to the house. We enjoyed bike riding, playing games in the yard and even kayaking. The house is well stocked for kids with many board games, art supplies, puzzles, Wii , books and outdoor games. The house is clean and spacious. Our dog loved his first vacation and enjoyed our daily walks along the bay, spotting rabbits and discovering horseshoe crabs. I highly recommend this rental for your getaway. I can't wait to go back.

Nice Getaway!

We had a fantastic stay and we had everything we needed! We enjoyed the deck for many meals and only had a small issue which is of no fault of the owner. The neighbor has 2 dogs that were out barking excessively one night. My dad asked nicely if she would take them in as we couldn’t enjoy a conversation together. She was quite rude, but her son stepped in and did take the dogs in. After that we didn’t really have an issue. The house was comfy, clean, and provided for all of our needs. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets and quality family time! Thanks for a great stay!

Vacation house in Del Haven, NJ

The house is very comfortable and equipped with everything you need for vacation. We brought our own pillows and bedding staff as it was recommended by the owner. The owner is very responsible so we did not have any issues. It is not related to the property but you need to know that even the beach is one block away you probably would not be able to swim. The water is very dirty during high tide and you cannot see the water at all during the low tide. If you really want to swim you need to drive for about 15 minutes to another beach. There are plenty of supermarkets and places to eat.

Loved it!

This is an adorable home away from home for those who want to get away from it all. We loved the designer touches in the decor and everything was so comfortable that we settled in immediately. The beach is just a quick walk down the block. I was delighted with the bay beach at this time of year, though during the summer season it may not be perfect for swimming, except for young children. The owners were very easy to work with. The only trouble we had was using the DVD player which did not have directions. We were not able to watch a movie, but they said they would make sure they got that taken care of and written down for the future. I would encourage those who like to watch movies to bring their own as the selection is limited. We would not hesitate to stay here again and would certainly be happy to recommend it. Bear in mind that Cape May's Atlantic ocean beaches are approximately 6 miles away if you want waves, restaurants or if you want to stroll on the boardwalk.

A much needed change of scenery

Our family spent a few days here over Presidents' Day weekend, and it was just the break we needed. We booked last minute, and Maria was super easy to communicate with. Finding and getting in to the house was simple. In February, one doesn't expect sun and fun on the Jersey Shore, but even with snow on the ground, it was nice to walk to the beach, hear the waves, and smell the ocean. We also made the easy drive to Wildwood and Cape May. The beach, the boardwalks - very different in February than July - but all were a welcome change of scenery. I can only imagine how fantastic this place would be in the summer! The house itself was perfect for us. Our three kids loved the upstairs sleeping area, where they each had their own private space. The sleeping area also features a bathroom, which was very convenient. There are two additional private bedrooms, and two additional baths, downstairs. All the sheets, blankets, and pillows we needed were there, and the kitchen was equipped with the usual pots and pans one needs on vacation. There were also lots of games, toys, and books; a comfy couch, and a quiet neighborhood. We were all very comfortable in the space and had a rejuvenating weekend.

More than we imagined...

As soon as we entered this warm and inviting place, we immediately felt at home. We had EVERYTHING we needed to make our week-long stay memorable including a fully equipped kitchen, beach umbrellas and chairs and even flip flops! Maria, the owner, was incredibly responsive and the sweet touches throughout the house reflect her attention to detail. The house is situated on a quiet street...about a nice 3 minute walk to the bay. We brought our dog and she LOVED running in the bay in the morning at low tide and in the evening. Her favorite thing to do was wading in at high tide to chase after the kayaks provided to guests. This is truly a magical place for dogs! The area is centrally located...we were about 15 minutes from Cape May, 20 minutes from Wildwood and 10 minutes from a major supermarket to pick up items to grill (awesome amenity) for a quiet night at home. The home is perfect for families, with a 2nd floor loft that can accommodate about 5 sleepers with their own space (divided in sections). Having a dual AC system (1st and 2nd floor) was soooo handy! We could sleep comfortably with AC without freezing our friends upstairs and they could sleep with the windows open to catch cool breezing flowing through the loft. We are making plans to return next year...it's a jewel!

Beautiful home, beautiful sunsets!

If you are looking for a quiet, well-maintained, VERY dog friendly home by a private beach with full sunset views a little further away from the action down in Cape May - this is the place! I came here for a short getaway with my family and my dogs, and we were not disappointed. The house is deceptively large, with an open concept upstairs that is very multi-kid friendly (5 people can sleep up there pretty comfortably), and two nicely sized queen bedrooms downstairs. The decor is very tasteful and inviting, and the whole place was immaculately clean! (Cannot forget to mention the enormous TV in the living room that came in handy for our movie nights!) Outside we had a large gated deck with a gas grill, and multiple tables and chairs where we spent a lot of time relaxing and enjoying the sunny days. The yard, while not huge, is fenced in and was perfect for our dogs and children to play in. Be aware that it is at least a 20 minute drive down to the Promenade in Cape May, where most of the shopping, dining, and sightseeing is. But there are plenty of attractions not too far from the house as well. And just 5 minutes away on route 47 is an adorable alpaca farm where they let you feed the animals while learning all about them. We had a blast there! The beach is just a short walk down a quiet street. and while beautiful and never crowded, it does have a few things to watch out for. There are many sharp burrs that we had to continuously pull out of our pups paws after each visit, and the wet sand does have a mud-like consistency that can suck you in up to your knees if you aren't careful! But we were there several times a day, every day! The sunsets did not disappoint. All in all - it was a lovely stay. And the owner, Maria, was an absolute pleasure! She answered ALL my questions, gave great dining recommendations, and even helped me out with a few glitches that happened along the way (none of which were her fault or had to do with the house itself). We would definitely stay here again!

Nice, pet-friendly house and great amenities on the Delaware Bay!

Our family of five booked this property for a long-weekend getaway in January, as we wanted a place where we could enjoy walks on the beach with our dog and see the sites around Cape May. This house was really great for all of that! First, let me say that the owners have gone the extra mile to offer some great amenities (kayaks, bikes, outdoor games, grill, firepit, etc.) and some very thoughtful touches to enhance the hospitality of the home--the use of the outdoor equipment alone offers a tremendous cost advantage over other properties in the area! Also, this really was the perfect place to stay with our dog--the backyard and deck are fenced, along with the front porch, and all of the furnishings in the house are "dog friendly". Next, we liked the location--it's away from the hustle and bustle of Cape May, but convenient to all attractions--and the Bay offers both beautiful sunsets and the opportunity to enjoy nature (we say a bald eagle!). Finally, I was very happy with the communication we had with the owners, easy contactless check-in, and tons of information provided. There were a few things I'd like to point out that could be improved upon or better communicated to prospective guests--these in no way spoiled our weekend, but I wanted to bring them up to be fair: 1. We would have liked to have the housekeeping policies clarified a bit better in the property's listing--we didn't find out until after we booked that we were expected to wash and put away all towels and linens on our departure, which is a perfectly reasonable request but also something we may have considered when comparing with other available properties. 2. There is poor drainage in the backyard--probably not an issue in the summer months, but definitely a factor to consider during the wetter times of the year. We found much of the backyard flooded and extremely swampy throughout our stay (even though it hadn't really rained hard recently), and this made it difficult to enjoy time outside--and even prevented us from letting our dog out unleashed, as we didn't want him to track in tons of mud. 3. The water pressure in the kitchen is quite weak, which made doing dishes an extra chore since the dishwasher was also not working. With a family of five eating most meals in, we spent a lot of time washing/drying dishes. Again, our overall stay here was great and we would definitely recommend to families or groups seeking a getaway full of time outdoors.

This was an annual trip to NJ that we wanted to share with the family which included our daughter's dog. This house was perfect, with all of us having our own space as well as plenty of shared space to be together. The fenced in yard was perfect for the dog to run around and get some off leash time and share in our outside fun while we played corn-hole or just sat outside and relaxed. We did take some of our own sheets, blankets and towels so we didn't have too much laundry to do in the morning before checkout, but there was plenty of those items at the house if you prefer and are early risers to get the laundry done before leaving. We will definitely consider this home for future trips.

The property was as described in the listing. The fenced in yard was very helpful for our two dogs. I also appreciated that the front porch was gated so if our dogs happened to get out the front door they could not leave the porch. The property owner was extraordinarily helpful when we ran into an issue outside of his control. The home was well stocked. We were able to walk to the bay which was very nice. The property owner was excellent at communicating and responded quickly to any questions we had before and during our stay.

Incredible experience!

Rich took great care of us! The property was comfortable, it was in a great location for the activities we wanted to do, and Rich was always easy to contact and very attentive to our needs! He provided so many recommendations for food and excursions, we had an absolute blast. With all the beach supplies and yard games in the shed, we had the best afternoon on the beach. When we had a question about the house, Rich was very quick to provide directions or solutions. It was a wonderful home away from home, and we plan to come back soon!

We are originally from Northeast Pennsylvania and have been coming to vacation in Cape May for decades. We have loved all of our vacations in Cape May whether it was on the beach side or the bay side. We settled on the bay side after enjoying a more relaxed version of Cape May vacations while here. The house has been owned by our family and rented out for well over a decade and has been the location of so many memories and great vacations. We settled on this area because it is close to downtown Cape May, Wildwood and the upper Cape May area. It offers and an affordable vacation with access to the bay beaches as well as a short drive to the downtown ocean side Cape May beaches. Our hope is that you will enjoy your stay and make memories like we have.

Why they chose this property

The property is a short walk to the Delaware Bay beach. The sunsets are incredible. It is a quiet residential neighborhood with great neighbors. Please be respectful to our neighbors as you enjoy your vacation. Additionally, this property is located near grocery stores, great restaurants and anything you may need.

What makes this property unique

I think the property's best feature is the size of the house for what you get. There are 2 large bedrooms on the 1st floor and 2 full bathrooms. The upstairs is an open style floorplan with 4 total beds (with privacy dividers) which makes it ideal for kids. It also has a full bathroom located on the 2nd floor which makes it nice when having a group staying upstairs. You can comfortably fit two or more families in this house. There is also another outdoor shower to clean off from the beach located next to a good size deck where you can just relax and have a drink with friends. It is a laid back version of the typical ocean beachside Cape May vacation while still having access to the great beaches and downtown shopping with a short drive. This house is a short walk or bike ride to the bay side beaches which I like very much. Some of our best memories are playing beach games like Spikeball or Kan Jam on the sandbars at low tide. The kids had a blast and the adults too :)
