About this property

Legacy House - waterfront on Bay of Quinte with spectacular sunsets

Beautiful and comfortable waterfront oasis in the country. Short drive to Prince Edward County with its restaurants wineries and activities! Approximately 2 hours from Toronto and Ottawa. Windows of the house overlook the water from almost every room! Spectacular sunsets, wonderful nighttime viewing of the moon and the stars. Minutes from Town of Napanee and all conveniences. Water is 20 feet from the house, shallow walk in - child friendly. Sun drenched deck and shaded patio both overlooking the Bay of Quinte. We have kayaks and water toys to help you enjoy your stay.

House has 3 bedrooms and a den, 2 full bathrooms along with a spacious great room, separate den with TV and books, fully equipped kitchen and laundry. Two bedrooms on the main floor, one with two single beds upstairs. There are multiple outdoor seating areas (spacious deck off livingroom, front deck, small deck off den, patio, lawn and dock) - some are in full sun others shaded by cedar trees. We provide WIFI, flat screen SMART TV with access to Netflix, Prime TV, Disney and basic cable, indoor and outdoor music speakers. There is a full set of plastic dishes and cups for outdoor use. Linens and towels (indoor and beach) are provided. Spare sets of sheets are under each bed in a plastic bin. For specific needs/concerns please contact us and we will try to assist where possible.

We have 4 kayaks, 1 stand-up paddle board and a canoe, water toys, outdoor games (badminton, bocci, frisbee) and cards/board games for your use. Shoreline is shallow walk-in and is safe for children however the Bay of Quinte does sometimes have waves and current - supervision of children is required. ** Use of watercraft requires accepting a waiver of liability. Bring swimming shoes as shoreline has pebbles/stones. We provide some life jackets however not in sizes for small children. Outdoor furniture, BBQ with propane line to house, BBQ utensils. Kitchen is fully equipped. You will enjoy all the comforts of home.

The house is a waterfront property in the country and as such has wildlife, birds and insects outside with whom we coexist. Although the house is thoroughly cleaned snd sanitized (inside and out) between each rental sometimes spider webs can reappear. Avoid leaving food or garbage outside that can attract insects or animals. Please clean up spills or you could attract ants inside.

Napanee has all amenities - grocery store, pharmacies, restaurants (dine in and all major fast food chains), Walmart, Canadian Tire, LCBO and The Beer Store. There are also Farm Stands and local boutiques. There are several Provincial Parks nearby with hiking and walking trails. There are also Wineries, Craft Breweries in Napanee.

Prince Edward County has many restaurants, Wineries, Craft Breweries, Artists Studios, and attractions. It is approximately 40 minutes drive to Picton around the water and over bridge or you could go via the Glenora Ferry which runs every 15 minutes from May to Thanksgiving. (See details below)

Beautiful sunsets at a lovely cottage
A very enjoyable 2 week stay. A well maintained property and fully equipped cottage/house. The host was very quick to respond to any questions and very helpful. It takes a while to get to Prince Edward county, but it is close enough to Napanee that you do not lack for anything. There is a breeze almost always from the lake which makes it comfortable even when it’s hot out and kept any bugs away; no problem sitting outside. The cottage has lots of windows that open so great view and ventilation. Biking in the area was easy, lots of not very busy paved roads. Water was fine for swimming, canoe/kayak/SUP, but can be quite wavy sometimes. A very enjoyable stay. A lovely place
