About this property
Folly View-Ocean sounds & views w/parking, full kitchen, A/C bedroom, Starlink
Overview: Whole home! Amazing sunrises! Located on the Coral Bay side of the island and less than a mile from Salt Pond Beach, Rams Head trailhead, and the Virgin Island National Park. This fabulous villa is a dream, built with the traditional Balinese post & beam style and featuring loads of authentic Balinese touches- including the windows and the giant conch shells on the wall (yes- they are real shells!) With over 1,500 sq ft of outdoor deck space and two dining spaces, so you can choose to dine inside or outside. 1 serene air conditioned bedroom featuring a king bed w/ luxury cooling TempurPedic mattress and 2 wonderful bathrooms with showers, you will feel right at home. If you are feeling adventurous, enjoy the outdoor shower upstairs. Or you may choose the spacious ensuite shower downstairs, with room for two. The living room offers additional space with a cozy queen sofa bed for extra comfort. Full Kitchen, parking for multiple vehicles, A/C in the bedroom, Starlink WiFi are just a few of the amenities provided. Kickback, relax, and enjoy the quiet side of St John and all our villa has to offer. 4 wheel drive is HIGHLY recommended. On-property washer/dryer available for guests staying 5 days+.
The Upstairs:
Living Room: Enjoy a comfortable couch and loveseat and a UHD 4K smart TV with Roku and soundbar while listening to the waves in the beautiful open-air living space. We also have a handful of games, cards and binoculars for you to use while you are here. There is a dining table that seats up to 6 people when the embedded butterfly leaf is unfolded. There is a small table and chairs on the side of the dining area, perfect for coffee indoors or to use as a workstation if duty calls- you will LOVE the lighting-quick Starlink wifi for all your videocalls or movie streaming. The kitchen is quite fully stocked- we enjoy cooking, so it is complete- from pots & pans to whisks and spatulas, crock pot, coffee maker & coffee grinder (and wine opener, of course).
There is an upstairs bathroom with a large outdoor shower. It features more of the Balinese touches- including the outdoor entrance into the shower- quite a conversation piece, I promise!
The back deck is our crown jewel- you will love listening to and watching the ocean waves roll in- and the abundant ocean life visible from the deck, including rays, sharks, barracudas, happy pelicans and majestic frigatebirds all enjoying the abundance of fish schooling in the bay. On the deck you will find antique Balinese recliners (they are so comfortable) and an al fresco dining space for 4.
Downstairs:
Once you go down the steps to the lower level, you will find the decking- and the views- continue. There is another wonderful space to lounge in the hammock and unwind as well as a quaint picnic table to enjoy a sunny lunch and look out over the terraced garden featuring bougainvillea, palm trees, pineapples, cacti and even a papaya tree.
Once you go into the master bedroom, you will be greeted by a large beautiful 4-post bed that supports a new KING TempurPedic luxury cooling mattress. From atop the bed, you will be able to look directly out onto the ocean. There is also a small coffee bar set-up downstairs (You are on vacation- Coffee should be just steps away!).
Walk through the Balinese double doors into the ensuite bathroom, featuring beautiful tile work and a view of the ocean while you unwind in the spacious shower.
This place is a gem- we look forward to hosting you and hope the memories you make here are as magical as this beautiful island we call home.

About the host
Hosted by SARAH CUNNINGHAM
My husband and I live in the midwest- but I have always had a need to see the ocean (my hubby would tell you it is a bit of an obsession, truthfully). I have travelled coast to coast in the US, and we have been to Thailand, French Polynesia, Hawaii, and all over the Caribbean- but there was something magical about St John that captured out hearts.
This place was so special to us, we decided to open it up to host others so they can enjoy the magic as well. There is something SO special about this island- and the rugged beauty it contains... and this house is truly our happy place. It seemed sad to have it sit empty when when we are back on the mainland working, so we decided to share it with others- we hope you love your time at Folly View and can see why it is such a gem to us.

Why they chose this property
When we drove down the hill to this property, I am not exaggerating when I tell you it was love at first sight- you will know why when you see it). We looked at the view and then each other and we. just. knew.
We love the Coral Bay side of the island (the chillness... the parking- and access to 3 grocery stores and a beach within 15 minutes is pretty awesome too). And the restaurants over here (again- with parking!) are fantastic.

What makes this property unique
We love to sit out on the deck and watch what we call "Fish TV" at the "dive bar". We watch schools of fish swim around and get chased by barracuda. There are big rays in the water as well- and we love watching the birds dive down for snack-time. We see geckos around the property (they are friend, not foe!) and we have iguanas that live in the wild areas around the villa. We see deer regularly- it is just nature in abundance. We also have wild donkeys and goats that visit the villa from time to time.
And that isn't even to mention the views of LeDuck and the rest of the BVI's, or the view of Haulover and the East End of the island.
Inside the villa, we really left the place "as we live". We stayed in a BUNCH of villas across all the USVI's and were disappointed to find them stripped down to the bare bones. I wanted to leave you a kitchen you could actually cook in- tools you would need, pans, etc. And good grief, do we love some coffee- which is why you will find a coffee maker upstairs and a little coffee bar downstairs.
