About this property
EVERGREEN: FALL RETREAT WITH SAUNA AND HOT TUB
Summary:
Welcome to your Flathead Lake-area retreat—perfect for summer adventures and relaxed Montana nights. Ideal for lake days, Glacier exploring, and group getaways.
The Space:
The barrel sauna and the speakeasy are the two halves of this house, and a good day here uses both. Ten people, six bedrooms, tucked into the hills above Flathead Lake in Somers, with enough room that everybody finds a corner.
Fall comes in slow and gold. The larch light up the hillsides through the back half of October, the summer crowds clear out, and the house settles into the season it's quietly best at. Mornings go nowhere in particular. The sauna gets used before noon instead of after midnight, somebody reads by the window for three hours, and nobody feels bad about it.
Then the snow arrives and the days get a purpose again: Whitefish Mountain is about 45 minutes to the lifts, Blacktail about 45 the other direction, and either one ends with wet gear by the door and the hot tub going under a sky with no light pollution in it.
Nights are a different house entirely. Push open the speakeasy door, deal the first hand, and see who's still standing at 2am.
Sleeping:
• Bedroom 1: King, ensuite bath, deck access, smart TV
• Bedroom 2: King, smart TV
• Bedroom 3: King, smart TV
• Bedroom 4: Two twin-over twin bunks, smart TV
• Bedroom 5: Two queens, smart TV
• Bedroom 6: King, ensuite bath, smart TV
Maximum 10 guests overnight per local regulations, regardless of bed count
The game room settles a lot of arguments and starts a few more, with arcade games, a pool table, shuffleboard, foosball, and air hockey. Out back there's a fire pit, cornhole, giant games, a spot to work on your chipping, and an axe throwing lane that sees more action than you'd expect. Come summer the whole place turns outward, with Flathead Lake and its public access points a short drive down the hill.
This one suits family retreats, wellness weeks, and friend groups where everyone wants their own room. Our local team is nearby the whole time you're here, so if anything comes up, just text us.
Guest Access:
The whole home is yours, inside and out, including the sauna, hot tub, speakeasy, and game room. The only off-limits spot is the locked cleaners' closet.
The Neighborhood:
You're up in the hills above Somers, quiet and private, with the valley and the lake spread out below.
Fall color: The larch peak across the valley through the back half of October, and it's the one thing locals genuinely plan around.
Skiing: Whitefish Mountain Resort is about 45 minutes to the lifts, consistently ranked among the top resorts in the West by SKI Magazine readers, with 3,000 acres and the snow ghosts it's known for. Blacktail Mountain, about 45 minutes the other direction above Lakeside, is the mellow, family-friendly hill locals use to teach their kids, though it runs a limited weekly schedule rather than seven days, so check their calendar before building a trip around it.
Snowshoeing & Nordic: Groomed cross-country trails run off Blacktail Road, maintained seven days a week from December through March, weather permitting. Snowshoe and ski rentals are easy to come by in Kalispell and Whitefish.
Winter festivities: The valley's festival season runs through the coldest months if you want a reason to head into town.
Food & drink: Somers and Lakeside spots are about 5 minutes out, Kalispell around 15 for groceries and a bigger restaurant scene, and Bigfork about 20 around the north shore.
On the water: Flathead Lake is a short drive down the hill, with public boat launches and a state park beach nearby where dogs are welcome on the sand. All lake recreation in the area is public access.
Nearby: The alpine coaster is about 3 minutes down the road.
Farther afield: The west entrance of Glacier National Park is roughly an hour, which makes a full day trip very doable. Glacier's high road closes seasonally, so winter visits look different from summer ones.
Getting Around:
You'll want a car here, and in winter all-wheel drive makes the drive to Whitefish considerably less interesting. Rideshare is limited in this part of the valley, so plan on driving. There's driveway parking for 7 to 8 vehicles, which handles a full house with gear.
