Beautiful Golf Course Home - last minute deal April See availability
This is a four bedroom home on the 11th tee of a luscious golf course with mountain views. There is an attached suite that is separated by locked door from either side and has a separate entrance that is occupied.
The laundry facilities will now be available on request as the suite will share them.
Please let the owner know if you have allergies or other conditions that require deep cleaning. Tucson is a very dusty city.
The golf course offers great deals for golfing has a pool, club house restaurant and gym facilities. The home has pool and spa for private enjoyment as well. Spa heating is included and if you want to heat the home pool it is $250.00/week extra (for gas). It is a family home and can accommodate children and a baby.
The master bedroom has a King bed with ensuite bathroom with shower. Two bedrooms have flat screen tvs. The family room has a 48" flat screen. Two bedrooms have double beds and one has a queen. There are two single mattresses under the beds that can be pulled out for extra guests. The second bathroom has two sinks and shower with tub. Outside there is a croquet set and a ping pong table for your entertainment. For those musically inclined the living room also has a grand piano. There is a formal dining room if you want to have the upscale meal with antique china and crystal to look pretty!!
The home is an older family home with antiques so things are not perfect and new, but are charming.
It is the perfect place to spend time away from the city, although on a golf course it is located in a rural like setting, surrounded by horse property. Horse back rides are available at the scenic Tanque Verde Ranch about 10 min drive away. It is also a short drive away from some beautiful hiking, sight seeing or big city shopping. Tucson has many amenities to offer all types of travelers.
Within 10 mins is a grocery store, three great bakery/luncheon/coffee shops Le Buzz, , a mexican restaurant, a corner pub with food and sometimes live music (the Stillhouse Grill and Bar), two pizza shops (Rosatis Pizza and Bear Canyon Pizza), a family restaurant (Risky Business) and a Dairy Queen. The new Barnyard restaurant just down the street on Tanque Verse is excellent, a bit pricey but worth it.
One of my family's favorite venues is Trail Dust Town on Wilmot (about a 15 min drive). This little complex includes Pinnacle Peak where you can enjoy a good western steak(or chicken) meal. There is a small train and other small carnival rides for kids and a western comedy live stunt show also can be attended. It gives you the feeling of being part of the old west!! You will also see western relics displayed, a vintage photos studio where you can dress the part and have it photographed, and an old style General store where you can shop for cheap tinker toys and souvenirs, then end the night at the Chocolate Depot. The neighborhood facility has a gym, there is a rock climbing club(the BLOC climbing fitness and yoga) and another gym (Desert Sports and Fitness) also within 10 min drive.
Saguaro National Park, Sabino Canyon, Mount Lemon drive and Redington Pass are all within a 15 min drive where the natural desert landscape, mountain terrain with city views can be enjoyed. Many tourists and city dwellers come to these areas to bike (motorized and cyclists). Wild life roaming are very often sighted in this rural type setting; coyotes, roadrunners, and quail are common, deer can be seen sometimes and on occasion javelinas and bobcats. Park Place, a large mall with theaters is a 20 min drive and a chichi mall, La Encantada is about 30-40 min where you will find high end shopping (Tiffany's, Coach, Anthropologie, and Michael Kors to name a few) and a number of gourmet restaurants and lounges. Downtown Tucson with numerous bars, breweries, clubs, live music and restaurants is about 30 to 40min drive. This is where large theater productions, ballets and concerts are most often performed as well at the Tucson Convention Center. The U of A Wildcats have high quality college sports games that can be attended if you plan ahead, also about 30 to 40 min drive. If you want professional sports Phoenix is about a 2 hour drive where the Coyotes hockey, Cardinals football, Diamondback baseball or Suns basketball games can be attended. A number of professional baseball teams have spring training in Phoenix including; the Cubs, the Rangers, Royals, Mariners, Padres, Dodgers, White Sox, Indians, Reds, Brewers, Angels, Rockies and Giants. The Phoenix International airport is often a few hundred dollars cheaper to fly into and has more flights if you don't mind the two hour drive after either with a rental car or shuttle (Arizona shuttles). The Tucson International Airport is about a 45 min drive to my home. Of course the world renowned Gem Show happens in Tucson Jan 17 to Feb 11, where rocks, gems and fossils are showcased and jewelry galore from all price ranges can be purchased. You have more access if you have can get a retail business license but there are many tents/venues for the public as well. If you are interested in exploring authentic Mexican culture the border town of Nogales is about 1.5 hour drive where you will find crafted goods, authentic mexican food and all other bordertown goings on!! The desert areas south of Tucson, particularly around Patagonia are well known for excellent quantity and variety of birding opportunities. Also within a 1.5 - 2 hour drive you can go to Sonoita for a wine tour, visit Kartchner Caverns, visit the historic mining town of Bisbee and do a mine tour or watch the gun fight at the restored Old Western Town of Tombstone. The website for SouthernArizonaGuide provides more information about these attractions.

Daughter graduated from UofA. The home is clean and perfect for a large group. Owner very attentive and responded quickly to needs and questions. Recommend this property without reservation.
This was a very comfortable place to stay, nice quiet location. We were intrigued by the décor, very eclectic and interesting. With all the glassware and artifacts, I would be hesitant to bring young children here, but great for adults. We would definitely stay again.
Our second year at Gwen's house. Loved it, and the 49er community.

The home accommodated our family to each have thier own room. It worked well to have everyone together between planned activities. The home had many antiques and unique pieces of furniture. The location was good for morning walks. The beds were comfortable and large towels were provided for personal use. The backyard pool was a nice place to relax and have conversations late in the afternoon. The kitchen was well stocked with various sizes of bowls, pans and spices. Somethings in the home were not clean when we arrived, e.g. the microwave and some surfaces had quite a bit of dust. Some noise from the occupied attached single unit could be heard into our unit - the person was out nights, so it did not impact sleep.

I'm glad you enjoyed the home, sorry about the not professional cleaning - will ensure this happens the next time. Also about the noise in the suite renters will accommodate each other when I am notified.
Thank you again
We had a great time at Gwen's house and at the 49er Estates. The neighborhood was very friendly; the golf and fitness center had reasonable one-month membership rates. The house is very close to the Saguaro National Park, Mount Lemmon, the Sabino Canyon, etc. We had minor issues with the wash machine and hot tub, but Gwen was quick to address them. Our three adult sons visited for a few days, two with their wives, so we made good use of the extra space and bedrooms. We look forward to a return trip.

49ers house with pool
The property needs some attention, review from last November mentioned no hot water in Master bedroom. We had the same issue, it is not a valve that is only partially turned on. The grill did not work, the pool was not working on arrival, and the pool and hot tub needed cleaning. We spent several hours doing additional cleaning. The property owner did work with us on the issues. The owner is trying but upgrades are needed.

I fixed the hot water while the guests were staying there. I provided an alternative bbq while the guests were staying there. I called the pool company the day after they arrived and it took about a week for them to respond. I cleaned the pool myself before they arrived and we experienced high winds causing more debris which was cleaned once the pool company repaired the pump.
I also offered to do additional cleaning as requested for fans and top shelves or pay for a professional cleaner. I also refunded them the cleaning fee immediately.
We had 4 bedrooms which was nice for our family of 5. We utilized the hot tub which was lovely. Kitchen is fully stocked, although we ate mostly with family. Only negative is that I could only get lukewarm water in the master bath. Hit water available everywhere else.

I found the problem with the water which I did suggest to Debbie one of the hot water taps under the sink had not been turned back on after some work had been done in the master bath - water warms now
The place was spotless and felt like a home because it was. There was a lot of room and a beautiful backyard. The neighborhood was quiet and the location was great for whatever we needed.
It was just what we needed for our extended family. We had many people join us for our son's wedding and the house was perfect for them. The TV set up was not very user friendly but they managed. The pool had some issues that were resolved but we would rent this property again. Thank you Gwen.
Great 4 bed/2 bath home on a golf course with a massive backyard including a pool, hot tub, fire pit, ping pong, grill, and others. Home has a lot of character with ample kitchen supplies, games, and movies.
I would rent this property again when back in Tucson.
Great location on the golf course. To cold to use the pool but hot tub was nice. House needs a couple of small repairs.

House
excellent location, large house and property, easy check in and a very good information book, barbecues needed cleaning but propane tank was full. Lacking fridge, cupboard, and closet space due to owners own belongings taking up most of room. Well equipped kitchen 2 of the beds were short, but good for kids.

Response from VrboOwner on 20 March 2020
I have cleaned out more closet space/cupboards for future renters. I also changed one of the beds that was antique to a longer more contemporary bed.
Will check bbq for cleanliness next time as hadn’t used it lately.
The items in the fridge were left for renters - mostly condiments as these are expensive to buy for shorter trips - will explain this in the welcome book as well.

Very nice, quiet neighborhood on a nice golf course.
This house worked very well for us. It is a bit dated but the spa worked great for us and the place was well equipped. The neighbourhood is quiet and the golf course is pretty good.

I raised my four children in this quiet beautiful setting and am not ready to let it go. Now that they are almost gone, my son is married with his first child and lives close by, my oldest daughter lives in DC and I have two highschool seniors that share their time at their dads I have lots of extra space. I like the idea of being able to share this setting with other families and earn monies to help support the upkeep of this gorgeous home.
