This cabin was first class all of the way around. We stayed here with four families in August of 2025 for a little over a week.Cabin: The cabin was beautiful; modern but rustic with an awesome game room upstairs, fun downstairs, and a beautiful porch where we spent most of our days when we weren’t in the yard or on the lake.Amenities: the house was well stocked with toys and games for the kids, a pack and play for the baby, plenty of toiletries, and great kitchenware.Yard: It was an awesome flat grass lawn with bag boards available at the place! The fireplace area overlooked the sandpit and the water with lots of firewood to use.Sandpit: this was a life saver with the kids. Nice sand far enough away from the water that you felt safe with plenty of seating to watch your kids play.Water: Just upstream from Lake Nokomis, the water ambiance felt private, but within 5 minutes you’re on the big lake surrounded by fun.Activities: when you’re not on the lake, there are quite a few restaurants within 5 minutes or so. That said, we did a lot of cooking at the house as you couldn’t beat that. The zoo in Minocqua was probably the coolest zoo I have been to. Animals roaming freely, giraffe feeding, and the bird cage was cool. Groceries: Both Tomahawk and Minocqua were close by which made groceries convenient. In summary, we couldn’t have picked a better place to spend our family summer vacation. Thank you to Abby and her family for opening your home to us!
The property was exactly as advertised and a good price for a weekend getaway.

About the host
Hosted by Abby whitish
We live in southwest Wisconsin and we are excited to host people in our new family cabin on Lake Nokomis.
Why they chose this property
When we started to get to know the area, we fell in love with the friendly people, the beautiful landscape, and all the things to do. There’s numerous places to eat on or off the lake, there’s a boat up/drive up ice cream shop, great hiking/biking trails and so much more! If you enjoy swimming, there’s multiple island beaches around the lake the pick from along with great fishing spots.
What makes this property unique
Our cabin is situated at the end of a private driveway on a peninsula. It’s on the backwaters of the lake so it’s quiet and peaceful. It’s a great place to put a kayak in and just paddle around without the worry of boats speeding by. The cabin was built with plenty of space to spread out but cozy enough to come together and enjoy family time.
