The host was very quick to respond to all questions before, during & after renting this beautiful home which is very important and much appreciated.Rarely, do website photos look as good as the actual house & property but in this case, they were accurate if not better! The house is very nicely appointed amenity-wise & decoration-wise. No corners were cut, as we could tell everything was “quality”! It was well stocked & clean. Even little details like their wine glasses, were first-rate. The beds were very comfortable & the home’s thermostat worked well. The neighborhood is peaceful, and we saw many beautiful deer in the morning– so picturesque! Regrettably, even though we tried, we weren’t able to enjoy the firepit or the fireplace because all wood provided was wet due to recent rains. The amenities offered at this property -especially outside- are unique and well thought out (even though the hot tub & fire making sources weren't usable during our visit). We don’t know if this is something that can be corrected, but the hot water took a long time to heat. And, if the firewood could be sheltered from rain, that would be desirable. But none of that was a dealbreaker, as the “pros” far outweighed any small “cons” and we enjoyed our stay very much! Unfortunately, we only rented for one night because we were in Oakhurst only to dine at the wonderful Elderberry House and visit two casinos. However, we would have loved to enjoy this wonderful property much longer!
We chose this vacation home for its proximity to Yosemite - family of 4 with our dog. Very beautiful newly renovated home. Plenty of space to spread out and beautiful landscaping outdoors. The neighborhood was beautiful and very peaceful. Lots of deer! But watch out for ticks of course if you have dogs. We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit even on the chillier nights. There was a spa we didn't use but the kids loved the trampoline. Washer/Dryer was a huge plus for our rainy trip too. Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed except a wine opener - but we loved the complimentary wine they left for us! The coffee station was also awesome. The only surprises was there was no option to use the indoor fireplace (no tools) but in fairness I did not reach out to the owner about it. Also we had some issues with the water heating for showers. We found if you run the water longer it heats up to a more comfortable temperature but it took a little while. No deal breakers though. Our first time in this area and seems like a lot of great gems out there. We found a snow park around an hour drive that was perfect since we couldn't find snow in Yosemite this time of year - Tamarack Sno Park. 15 for a day pass and the kids and dog LOVED it. We visited Yosemite for two of our days out there and its the perfect time of year with no crowds. Just a little over an hour drive. Overall very happy - comfy beds, heating worked well and lots of blankets! We had a great time. Thanks!
