Adjoining a national forest, "Les Rochers" is the only gite on this woodland domaine. It offers comfortable, spacious and exclusive accommodation for 4 people, plus a small child, occcupying the entire ground floor of our country house. There is a private outdoor terrace surrounded by beds of lavender, and extensive 5 acre grounds beyond with two children's play areas( infants swings/ older children's climbing challenge ; boules pitch; ping pong; badminton lawn; and a heated swimming pool for your exclusive use(closed midday/siesta time). Beyond the gates, numerous footpaths and bridle ways extend into the forest, making this an ideal location for lovers of wild life, rambling and mountain biking. This property is situated in a magic location along a part tarmac and part gravelled forest road, a few minutes from the village. It is perfect for all those seeking peace and tranquillity, and anyone with an interest in wild life and birds. Although it seems a world away, the nearby A75 autoroute leads to innumerable places of interest , such as Pezenas , Nimes and Carcassonne.The Mediterranean beaches are only a 50 minute drive away. The nearby medieval village of Soubes offers vibrant café life and a small shop, while the town of Lodeve has art galleries, cathedral, supermarkets and much more.

an ideal get away from it all.

Les Rochers is a lovely holiday rental. Set in woodland & it's very quiet (apart from the cicadas). Having your own pool is a big plus too as it's very hot. Most places worth a visit are accessible within one hour. The drives out are very picturesque which can make days out even longer as the photo opportunities are many! Brian was a great source of knowledge for places to visit. We particularly liked Lac Du Salagou, La Couvertoirade, Mez (although our son was stung by a jelly fish),Montpellier,Millau Viaduct & lots of other places too. Les Rochers is ideal for families, honeymooners looking for relaxation etc.

LE GÎTE DU BOUT DU MONDE

Sejourner au gîte de Brian et Joan, cela vaut bien un détour. Certes pour le rejoindre mieux vaut être équipé d'un 4x4. Mais une fois atteint, tout n'est que plénitude, calme, beauté. Très bien situé pour partir en randonnées quel que soit le mode de locomotion. La piscine est idéal quand il fait beau. Seul regret que les horaires d'accès ne coïncidaient pas avec nos activités (visites, ballades, randonnées), du coup nous n'en n'avons guère profité. Mais si vous demeurez sur place, tout est parfait pour se sentir comme au bout du monde.

Des vacances au calme

Des vacances on ne peut plus au calme, au milieu de la foret. Tous les équipements nécessaires sont présents dont piscine , Ping Ping pétanque badminton. Avec un grand terrain clos pour votre animal de compagnie . Un seul mais : un rafraîchissement de la déco et des équipements seraient à prévoir. La piscine chauffée est très agréable mais elle n est pas juste à côté du logement et pas acccessible entre midi et deux et après 18h30/19h. Toutefois nous avons passé de très bonnes vacances et Brian et Joan sont d une grande gentillesse ! Merci à eux !

A wonderful place to relax.

We chose Latigat because we were looking for a relaxing place. It was amazing because it was March, the time when the nature wakes up after winter. We enjoyed walking in the forest seeing new colours, but most of all sitting on the patio hearing the birdsong when the sun is going down. The house is very comfortable and has everything you could need. Unfortunately it wasn’t warm enough to enjoy the swimming pool of course, this is way I want to go back in summer. All in all we had a lovely time, and hope to go back and see more of the area one summer. The only problem is, the property is so lovely it's hard to drag yourself away and go sightseeing!

Why they chose this property

With reminders of Africa in the dry rocky landscape, vivid flowers and empty star laden skies, we fell in love with this wonderful location.
Joan says think of "Cragside" in Rothbury, but with a mediterranean climate.

What makes this property unique

The peace and quiet of this spot is very special, and we feel privileged to be able to enjoy the wonderful flora and fauna that surround us. Recently we have seen deer, red squirrels and a young fox in our garden, as well as myriad butterflies, wild orchids and varied bird life. And yet while the world seems far away, we can still enjoy the benfits of the wonderful towns and cities that are close by, such as Montpellier(only fifty minutes away..)
