Welcome to Hawk's View! Explore the Gorge from this ideally located home with ample space for your group. Unwind, reboot and recharge here where the spectacular view will take your breath away. Sleep up to 14 in our home, with the option of 6 more in Hawk's Nest, our guest house which is available to rent separately as described below. This is the perfect vacation get-away. Very family friendly and great for big groups.
Whether enjoying the stunning panoramic Columbia River view from almost every room and the expansive front deck and hot tub, challenging your family and friends to a rousing game of pool or darts, or cooking a delicious meal together in the large open living/dining/kitchen, this is the perfect vacation get-away. Four bedrooms and three bathrooms, A/C, WiFi, music speakers inside and out, grassy backyard with hammock and fire pit for roasting s'mores and great conversation. Our home is less than 10 minutes to downtown Hood River and 45 minutes to Mt. Hood Meadows, Timberline and Mt. Hood Ski Bowl ski areas. Return home to a soak in the hot tub (brand new in 2021!) after biking, windsurfing, kiting, hiking, skiing, or rafting and/or enjoy the cozy fireplace for your post-session pleasure. Enjoy a glass of wine from the deck and watch the sun set over the Columbia. Direct view of the windsurfing/kiting launch-- know what sail/kite you will rig before you even leave the house! The access to the water is quick and easy.
This is a perfect launching pad for wine tasting at the 30+ amazing wineries in the Columbia Gorge AVA. Even more exciting, we now have 3 great wineries (Garnier, Idiot’s Grace and Analema) and a cidery (Runcible) right in Mosier within 2 miles of our house for your tasting enjoyment without the long drive.
Mosier has as very cool vibe with a great restaurant, Mosier Company serving delicious, locally sourced food, beer, wine, cider and spirits often times coupled with live music on their outdoor patios. There is also a well-stocked grocery/market (Brenna’s) and a cute ice cream parlor and local farmers market in the summer. All are within an easy walk of our house.
Mosier offers it all in a less crowded and more affordable package including savings of 8% in lodging tax versus Hood River. All this while still being a short 6 mile drive to downtown Hood River.
Our house offers world class road biking right from the front door with direct access to The Old Columbia Highway (Route 30) and the amazing Mosier Tunnel Trail to Hood River. You can also take a short hike from the house to the beautiful Mosier Creek Waterfall/Mosier Plateau and miles of incredible wildflowers. Access to the Columbia River via Rock Creek waterfront park is only a 3 minute drive down the hill. This provides an incredible launching point for kitesurfing, windsurfing, paddle boarding, kayaking and swimming.
Our house is very kid and family friendly, and perfect for a large group. It is located on a quiet cul-de-sac that is perfect for kids to bike, scooter and skateboard on while the parents can watch over them from the decks and patios.
Four bedrooms. Upstairs has master with queen bed and en-suite bath. Second bedroom upstairs has a full bed and twin bunk beds. There is a second full bath upstairs. Large sectional couch in the living room easily sleeps two if needed. Downstairs has a full bath with shower and a bedroom with queen bunks and another bedroom with a queen bed. We encourage fun but being respectful to our neighbors is top priority. No loud parties allowed.
Parking is limited to 4 vehicles. Our home sits on a steep hill which makes for great views but the driveway is very steep. If it's at all icy or snowy we strongly encourage that you park on the street and walk up. This can be challenging for those without sure footing.
You must be a minimum of 30 years of age to rent our home.
No pets allowed.
You will have full access to the house but will not have access to the garage.
This is a high fire danger area in the summer. No open flames/fire works allowed. Please help to protect our beautiful area from fire danger!
I am readily available via phone or text and have a great local caretaker who can help if needed.
