We had a few hiccups in the beginning, keypad to get in had issues, we started grilling but the propane bottle was left on from previous guests and we had an empty propane bottle, but everything was addressed quickly with the hosts and taken care of immediately. We ended up having a very relaxing weekend with the family with gorgeous views of the lake.
Overall we had a great time. The dock was easily our favorite spot. We caught some bream, bass, catfish and a perch on the dock. Mainly bream was caught there though. It was easy to find the house when on the lake and coming back at night. The host responded in a timely manner, we had some complications with one of the kids and they were very understanding. The space is big enough to hold a large family. The views were great as well. The cabin is about 15 min away to the nearest store and about 20-25 min away to Toledo town.

Thank you so much Allison, it means a lot… hope the kid is doing good!
The place was easy to get to and the hosts made it a breeze to check in and start our stay. The place had most everything you would need for cooking and the gas grill was great. We fished and caught a few catfish and perch off of the boat deck. The place was very clean and well taken care of... great visit!

Thanks so much for the great review! We’re glad check in was easy and that you enjoyed the grill, fishing and your time on the deck. It’s always our goal to provide a clean, comfortable and well equipped space, so we’re glad that came through. You all were wonderful guests and we’d love to welcome you back anytime!
This was a great stay for our two families (4 adults, 4 young children). We had plenty of space indoors and outdoors to eat and hang out. The views are wonderful. We couldn't really fish off the dock (too shallow and maybe due to the winds?), but we drove around to find somewhere else for the kids. We had some initial issues with wifi and a toilet, but owner responded quickly with some help. Fun getaway for us!

Thank you so much, you all have been amazing guests!
Stayed here with a couple of friends for a relaxing weekend on the lake. The house was very comfortable and well equipped for the 3 of us and the dogs. We also got a lot of use out of the large dock on the water (fishing) and the kayaks provided. Communication with the host was also prompt, very professional. and polite. Would highly recommend this property, it's a gem.

Hi Nathan,
Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re thrilled to hear that you and your friends (and the dogs!) had a relaxing weekend and enjoyed all the amenities, especially the dock and kayaks. It’s great to know that the house was comfortable and well-equipped for your stay. We also truly appreciate your kind comments about our communication, it was a pleasure hosting you!
Warm regards,
The lake House Team
The property was equipped with everything we needed. We did however purchase folding chairs that we could use down at the docks. The house had window units for the air conditioning on the " older " side of the home but they worked just fine. The view was amazing! Beautiful deck, nice deck furniture and grill! And a nice hottub, which sadly we did not use. Our dogs loved sitting on the deck, watching the boats go by! Town was just a 15 minute drive!

Our family enjoyed our time at the lake and made some great memories together. We had a fun vacation, even though we were surrounded by tiny bugs during mating season, which gave us a few laughs. A few bugs got into the rooms as well. The host was very responsive and addressed our concerns right away, which we truly appreciated. That said, the property was not quite what we expected. The home is a renovated double-wide trailer. The photos primarily highlight the updated side, so we were surprised to see that the other side of the exterior appeared unfinished when we walked around the property. Aside from that, everything else was fine, and we were still able to enjoy our stay.

Pro and Con
Interior comfortable and clean. Parking tight and no way to park a boat and trailer. The front Lower step was too far off the ground. Garbage can was full. We had to haul off our garbage. We had to park the boat and trailer at someone’s house in Hemphill. Never got to use the boat.
things to fix: nail was sticking 3/4" out of wood floor. I pounded nail back into floor. we were going to grill some burgers but ran out of propane while heating up grill.the extra propane bottle was also empty. grill was was filthy and handle was covered in grease. also, the roll-out under bed baskets are easily tripped over when going around end of bed. the waterfront was great.
We had a nice relaxing time! Beautiful updated home with everything you need. Hot tub wasn't working properly was our only problem. It never heated up, but it's the middle of summer so it wasn't terrible.
