About the host
Hosted by Reid Stevenson
I’m a Missoula native with a deep love for Montana’s outdoors. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me skiing at one of our local mountains, floating the Clark Fork or Bitterroot on a warm summer day, or camping somewhere just far enough off the road to feel quiet and wild. Hosting gives me the chance to share my favorite part of the Rockies with others and help guests experience the beauty and warmth that make Missoula feel like home. If you’re visiting, I’m always happy to recommend great river access points, nearby trailheads, scenic drives, or local spots for food, coffee, and live music, depending on the season and what you enjoy. Whether you’re here to work, explore, or slow down for a while, I want your stay to feel comfortable, easy, and genuinely Missoula.
Why they chose this property
I chose to host in the Linda Vista neighborhood because it truly offers the best of both worlds. It’s close to town but still feels connected to Montana’s open space and quiet beauty. Scenic walking trails wind through the area, including one that follows the Bitterroot River, where it’s common to see deer and a variety of local birds throughout the year. It’s a place where mornings feel calm and unhurried, and it’s easy to step outside and enjoy the landscape.
Just a mile down the hill, the Miller Creek Café on the Linda Vista Golf Course is a favorite local spot for pub fare, local brews, and relaxing on the patio with mountain and fairway views. In the off-season, the golf course even turns into a casual frisbee-golf destination, which adds to the laid-back, community feel of the area. The home is also conveniently located—about 2.5 miles from Community Medical Center, under 2 miles from The Den, another great neighborhood eatery and market with sweeping valley views, and just minutes from shopping, groceries, and dining. It’s a quiet, comfortable area that balances easy access with a sense of space, which is exactly what I love about living and hosting here.

What makes this property unique
What I love most about this property is how it blends comfort, privacy, and Montana scenery in a way that feels both peaceful and practical. Being on the ground level of a split-level home, the space feels tucked in and quiet, yet it opens up to sweeping views of the Missoula Valley and surrounding mountains. Many guests tell me their favorite moments are slow mornings with coffee in the living room or evenings spent on the sheltered north-facing patio, enjoying the light and the views without the heat of direct sun.
The private patio is a real highlight. With double doors, adjustable top-down, bottom-up shades, and built-in side vents, it’s easy to let in fresh air and natural light while still maintaining privacy. In warmer months, it’s a great spot for reading, working remotely, or unwinding after a day out, and the airflow makes it comfortable without needing to open the doors wide. Inside, the layout is simple and functional, with a well-equipped kitchen, a comfortable living space, a full bathroom, and two bedrooms set slightly apart down a short hallway, which helps the space feel calm and well balanced.
Outdoors, the landscaping creates small pockets of privacy and relaxation. The patio is screened from view by a mounded planter, and the shaded lawn areas near the driveway and front yard offer additional places to sit, stretch out, or enjoy the quiet. Whether guests are here for work, an extended visit, or time outdoors, I see this space as a place to slow down, enjoy the light and views, and experience Missoula in a way that feels relaxed, private, and genuinely comfortable.
