This was the perfect weekend getaway! Quiet and remote while being close to Santa Fe. The property has a warm and artistic feel and is very comfortable.
We absolutely enjoyed our stay. The kitchen was so nice. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very comfortable. The hot tub was impeccable with stellar views! Netflix enjoyed by baby. Interesting curios and art all around!
This home was perfect for my husband and me—tucked away from the hustle and bustle yet just a short drive to everything we needed. It was spotless, had a fresh scent, and everything functioned perfectly. I highly recommend a vehicle with AWD, as mentioned in the listing. We experienced an unexpected snowstorm, making the roads a bit slick and the snowfall heavy, but it was all worth it. We cozied up and enjoyed a peaceful, quiet weekend.
This was our 25th wedding anniversary trip and this place will always be special to us! It was the perfect home, just right for 2 people! The location was quiet and looked very Santa Fe! The place we stayed was very clean which I loved! It was a unique neatly decorated home. Lovely places to sit out front and back. The hot tub was amazing! We hope to stay there again soon!
We had such a fantastic time at Dodie's place. It is so well designed, super clean and stocked with everything we needed. The furniture, the bed and the layout of the home is superb. Not to mention the gardens and hot tub. I would highly recommend this home and would rent again if we come back to this area.
Thank you Dodie!
This is the perfect place to stay if you want to be out in nature but close to Santa Fe, NM. Dodie’s home is comfortable, well stocked with everything you need, and gives you privacy to completely relax while you’re there. Our host was very responsive when we had questions. Her place is beautiful with lots of flowers and hummingbirds in the yard. We enjoyed it!
This was an excellent location to conclude our visit to New Mexico and Arizona. We had been on the road for about four days leading up to our stay and really needed a place to relax before we returned to Maine. This was the perfect location for that.
This home was amazing. Just outside Santa Fe but close enough to go into town whenever we wanted to do so. We found some local trails to hike and enjoyed incredible food and fun shopping. Dodie was the perfect host and we experienced no problems. Her home was just as described.
Unique, charming and spacious. Well appointed kitchen. Hot tub was not only great but it’s located in a secluded spot in the backyard a little below the main patio area. Plenty of sky above for stargazing!
Host, Dodie was attentive and friendly. Only a short distance to downtown Santa Fe, but all the charm of a country place. We would recommend this place to anyone!
Well provisioned home. Comfortable spaces, well stocked kitchen, good to get away location

The cabin was extremely clean and very comfortable.
We would highly recommend staying in this cabin, especially if you're a small family. Absolutely beautiful surroundings and you'll find everything you need to have a very relaxing and peaceful vacation.
The house and landscaping is pretty and great place to relax. The property owner, Dorothy Dean, went above and beyond in communication and making sure we were comfortable. Will stay again if we go back to the area.
The house was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked. The location was perfect for for getting to explore the local mountains. We hiked at holy ghost creek and the sante fe national forest near the ski slope. It was great to take a long soak in the hot tub after the long hike.
We were lucky enough to stay in Dorothy’s charming retreat outside Santa Fe. Filled with lovely folk art, it has a wonderfully peaceful feeling. We enjoyed the hot tub under the stars. Close enough to Santa Fe to go for dinner or the sites but far enough away to be another world. Would recommend highly for a romantic relaxing stay.

About the host
Hosted by Dorothy Dean
I've lived in New Mexico for 43 years, loving it the entire time.
Why they chose this property
Close to town but has the old world feeling of the Santa Fe I first met in 1979. Quiet, fresh mountain air; I walk up my road and I am in the Santa Fe National Forest. Beautiful views of the mountains the entire drive out.
What makes this property unique
The lights of the city are occluded which makes twice as many stars visible in the night sky. I love watching meteor showers from my hot tub! It is exquisitely quiet and peaceful and only 15 to 20 minutes to the plaza all along a graceful mountain road without traffic lights and only a few stop signs, no traffic!
