Great Place to Stay
This is a great place to stay. Beautiful scenery and great Santa Fe charm.
Overall a 4/5, satisfied with the property and location. Located just a short distance off HWY 14, good location for visiting Santa Fe, tiny towns on 14 and trails.

Excellent spot to stay!
This place was great. Our boys loved the little loft and playing outside. Very beautiful landscape. The House is far enough away from everything but close enough to not be a hassle to go into town. The outside could use a little cleaning up but It is a great spot.
Tom's rental was so quiet and clean and he provided absolutely everything we might need - including condiments and salad dressing! It was out in the country but easy to get to and not far from Santa Fe. The one time we had a question (because we couldn't figure something out) he responded right away. Easiest and most beautiful place I've ever stayed.

quiet, peaceful, cozy space in the mountians of new mexico
It was a wonderful, magical space, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Hearing the coyotes at night, having coffee in the meditation tower watching the sun rise was beautiful. Tom was very respectful of our space, a lovely warm hearted man. I would certainly return
If you want peace and quiet, cozy ,homey place, well equipped , great host.THIS IS THE PLACE! Great place to watch the eclipse on your private patio. Everything you need is there. Now if you are looking for 5 star accommodations, and are picky about your thread count,go find a hotel in SF. This place feels like home! Wonderful
I was extremely pleased with this experience. The house was clean, neat and well maintained. I wanted the desert living experience without being too far from Santa Fe. Quiet, peaceful. The owners were excellent communicators and there were no problems. Very spacious. A good value for the price. Would stay again.

Charming house in a peaceful relaxing setting
Had a wonderful time. The house was perfect, and the setting was very relaxing. We were close to Santa Fe and other sites to see, but yet far away enough to escape the hustle and bustle. Location was convenient to not only visit Santa Fe, but also Albuquerque and Taos, and many other sites in the area... great central location. The house itself was all that we could've asked for. Relaxed outside on the patio morning and evening. Loved watching the sunset from the meditation tower. Would definitely stay here again, house clean and well-maintained.

Perfect little getaway
This place was perfect for our family of four. My kids (ages 9 and 13) loved the loft, and spent most of their time hiding out up there! Great place to relax and escape from the hustle and bustle of the city at the end of a busy day. Everything was clean, and the kitchen had everything we needed to make a few meals in the evenings. The meditation tower is awesome, and I greatly enjoyed starting every morning out there, watching the sun rise. We look forward to returning as soon as we possibly can.

We had the BEST Christmas!
All my husband & I wanted to give our kids for Christmas was a chance to see snow & boy did we get it! We surprised them with a trip to Santa Fe & stayed at Tom's Guest House. We could not have asked for a more perfect place to stay. It's away from the hustle & bustle of the city, but close enough to go in to enjoy the lovely town of Santa Fe and the awesome sledding at The Hyde Memorial State Park! Little did we know we would encounter a blizzard on our stay & be snowed in for 2 days but thanks to the house having everything we needed, PLENTY of firewood & awesome acreage around the house to play in, we were perfectly happy staying in! The cozy fireplace & mantle made for a perfect place to hang our stockings & Tom was so nice to leave some decorations for us to decorate our little tree. He even left a little nativity scene that my kids loved stetting up. Santa found us all the way in Santa Fe & we couldn't have asked for a better Christmas! Thank you Tom for sharing your little piece of heaven with us!!
This location, the hosts, and the country home could not have been better. Perfect for a quiet getaway, had everything I needed and then some, and close (but not too close) to all that I wanted to see and do. HIGHLY recommend.

Quiet & peacful
Definitely enjoyed our stay! Had a lot of fun with my family. Nice little place to stay, plenty of space since there were 6 of us. Didn't have signal a lot of the time but gave us a chance to disconnect from the phones for a bit. Overall a nice place to stay, very quiet and peaceful.
This is the second time we have been here and we love it. So peaceful out in the country, so relaxing. And yet convenient for day trips to Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and even Taos. We loved having our morning coffee out on the patio with the refreshing views... great way to start the day. Loved the meditation tower... great sunsets and views in all directions. We will be back.
The house was amazing and very spacious. The loft was super fun with a great ladder leading up to it. The location was so peaceful and perfect for star gazing. We loved the meditation tower and wish we could have stayed much longer!
Easy to get anywhere in Santa Fe and surrounding area. A great place to stay for quiet and to enjoy the beauty of the area. It was wonderful staying in an area where houses are spaced out and almost no traffic on the road. The teens loved the loft; it was their own private vacation spot. Patio is a great place to sit in the morning and evening. The kitchen really is equipped with everything you need, and the grilll works well. Tom is an attentive host.
Easy access to Santa Fe, while still being truly in the desert. The loft was great for my partner and I, as we like a firm bed, and the thin cushions worked out well. Everyone in our group loved hearing the wildlife each morning!
From the start , we got a good vibe about the owner , Thomas . He answered all questions promptly and put us at ease prior to arriving . I felt he was a trustworthy owner . Our stay was very cozy and peaceful . House has everything you need to make it comfortable . I recommend this place if you want peace and quiet . Also , the Mine Shaft Tavern in Madrid ( about 12 minutes) has an awesome barbecue sandwich ! Keep up the good business Thomas .
My husband and I came to Santa Fe area to get away and wanted to stay in the country instead of in town. This was perfect for us. We had quiet evenings by the fire. But it is still close to restaurants and town. Stars at nights were amazing. The price is great and plenty of space.

About the host
Hosted by Thomas Berkes
I built my home and have enjoyed Santa Fe country living for many years. Traveling, sailing, cooking playing music are a few of my interests.
Why they chose this property
The casita was originally built as a music studio, then having rented it for a few years long term I wanted visitors to get the country experience while visiting Santa Fe.
What makes this property unique
Peaceful with a tower for meditation, prayer or just enjoying the view.
