Thank you to Dan Baker for sharing his cozy/classy condo, a great home base from which to discover North Idaho. The three grandkids found the multi-story arrangement to be part of the adventure, and it was no problem for our mid-30s sons. I do have to admit it was a good workout for Grandpa and me. Great Grandma was a trooper. We only made her climb the first set of stairs to the living area once each day, and she was comfortable to sleep there so never had to climb further. We all slept comfortably and the bathrooms were all very clean, roomy and functional. We did note that one of the toilet seat hinges on the 2nd floor bathroom was broken, but it didn't cause a problem for us as we had to install a riser there for Great Grandma anyway. The kitchen was clean and well stocked with dishes, cookery and utensils. We did not find replacement supplies of either paper towels or toilet paper, so we bought some and left them for the next family, plus some coffee and popsicles we didn't use up. The ice-maker wasn't hooked up, and there has been a little existing damage to one of the floorboards from a slow water leak still happening from under the fridge. The barbeque cover had been left on the balcony floor, so it and the barbeque trays were pretty dirty. I washed the barbeque exterior with hot soapy water, and I put the cover on before we left, and in the process found a trash bag full of a previous renter's soiled baby diapers still hanging from the rail post hidden behind the barbeque. We hauled it to the dumpsters with our own trash when we left. In response to someone's earlier review about the heat: Our first night we were pretty miserable until about 2:00 a.m., but it is July and we didn't arrive and open the place up until evening. The rest of our stay, with no storms in the forecast, we left upper story windows open all day and the place stayed very comfortable. Yes there are many windows without screens, and yes there were some bugs attracted to the light after dark, but only a few moths and "mosquito eaters" (and one lone mosquito with a death wish. He got his wish.) There is a huge supply of DVDs, watchable on the ground floor only, but you can stream movies in the second floor living room or the third floor master bedroom. We enjoyed our stay very much, so thanks again to our host!
