The 6800 square foot home sits on 4 acres of lake frontage on Lake Travis in Austin, Texas and sleeps 28. The property has 420 feet of water frontage that is flat to the lake so you can walk right in, this is not one of those properties that is up high on a cliff with just a lake view. The property is 2.2 miles from HEB grocery store, gas station, 7-11, restaurants, Walgreens, Target, Wells Fargo, etc….and it is the closest Lake Travis rental property to downtown
(just 22 minutes) and only 27 miles to Austin Bergstrom International Airport, making it the most desirable part of Lake Travis.

The upstairs has a massive open great room, living and dining area with a beautiful view of the lake and there is a spacious kitchen with island counter seating,. For bedrooms, there is a master, and 2 individual rooms with king beds.

Downstairs has a large game room, media room (Media room has 5 Full size beds and serves as 2 bedrooms), a bunk room with 3 bunk beds, a room with a king and murphy bed, a room with a full, a kitchen, and 3 bathrooms.

I cannot recommend Camp Sandy enough. We had the most wonderful stay, and David was the greatest host. He accommodated us with an early check in, late check out, and even sent us cookies during our stay. The grounds are so beautiful, and there are so many things to do. We had a group of 19 adults, and everyone had a blast playing volleyball, pickleball, swimming, kayaking, playing pool, and hanging out. We can’t wait to come back.

Camp Sandy was the best!

Our group loved playing volleyball, swimming in the pool, playing pickle ball and utilizing all of the activities at Camp Sandy! David and his team were super helpful and communicative. Kim said he was also super convenient in location to downtown Austin and other activities around Lake Travis! If you’re with a large group, it’s very easy to get a ride! Thanks David and Camp Sandy. Can’t wait to come back one day!

Amazing property!

This is one of the best properties I have stayed on! We had so much to do from playing badminton to playing sand volleyball. I would recommend this property for a great family vacation. It has everything you would need!

Awesome stay at a special property!

We loved our stay at Camp Sandy! David was extremely helpful and communicative from the moment we booked our stay - gave great recommendations. The property itself was perfect for our group of 15 guys, plenty of fun games & activities to do in the expansive yard a pool and hot tub. Plenty of beds for everyone and space to hang out, eat dinner, etc.Very close to marinas and launch points for a boating trip, which we did Saturday during our stay. And easy access to downtown in 20-30 mins.We would definitely highly recommend Camp Sandy for an active group of friends looking for a great place to stay near Lake Travis!

Amazing Property

Great time!

David was a FANTASTIC host. He helped us plan for a private chef to come and cook us dinner, opened up his home to us, and treated us to a GREAT weekend! Highly recommend!

We did a joint bachelorette party with all our friends and David even sent Tiffs Treats for us to enjoy. WiFi was a little rough, but wasn’t a big deal for our group. Great trip!

Great Family Reunion at a Great Place!!

Camp Sandy is a great place for a large group! There are plenty of things to do and spread out if needed! We were a group of 27 and never felt crowded at all! David, the owner and manager went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. Anytime I would text a question or concern he was right on it, not too many owners take care the way he does! Thanks David for a wonderful time!

Awesome home base for UT Austin commencement weekend

We stayed at this property with 20 people in town to attend our daughter's graduation at UT Austin. The location was about 35 min to campus but since we only needed to be on campus Friday morning for commencement activities, this property was perfect for the remainder of our 3 night stay.Communication with David was great and he met us at the house shortly after arrival to give us a tour (and surprised us with Tiff's Treats during our stay)Lots of activities for all ages (true to pictures posted on website)Outdoor pavilion had full size fridge, sink, and gas stove/oven, in addition to the large Weber grill (great for the graduation party we hosted onsite)Like other reviewers, you do need to be able to navigate stairs and slope/incline both into the house and down to the outdoor activities. All bathrooms located inside the house.We would definitely stay here for a group of our size

Great Property

We enjoyed our stay at this property. We had so much fun in the outdoors with so many activities and facilities. Perfect for 3 families. Indoors was also very good. Excellent rooms and bathrooms on 2nd floor. Well equipped game room on 1st floor for both kids and adults to enjoy. Wish lake had good water level to enjoy water sports/activities. We will be back!

Incredible Property

From initial contact to booking and arrival this transaction has been fantastic. Owner has been top shelf on all aspects of rental. Property is HUGE accommodating everyone comfortably. Rooms were fresh and bright with nice furniture. Great room was incredibly large and allowed for all of us to gather (22 adults and kids). Outdoor area was equally greasy with a large pool and great outdoor kitchen/picnic area. We will definitely rent again!!

Bachelor Party Perfection

We had a group of 15 guys for my bachelor party. This was the perfect spot. So many great areas to hang out and an abundance of activities. David went above and beyond to help us get settled and surprised us with breakfast delivery our first morning and a delivery of baked goods on another day. Wish I could give higher than 5 stars. Highly recommend!

This place is Huge & Beautiful! Everything you need in one place. It was very clean. Sand volleyball court was so much fun. The lighting at night…..Beautiful! So much entertainment. You won’t be Bored! Communication for any questions we had were always answered right away. Highly recommend!

Best VRBO Ever!

David and Emily were extremely accommodating and helpful hosts. I appreciated their overcommunication leading up to the stay. Upon check-in they did an excellent job of running me through the must knows of the VRBO. The property was clean, comfortable, stocked with necessities, and packed with activities to keep a group entertained. The house is located very close to a grocery/restaurant area as well as the lake. Absolutely no complaints, private, quiet, peaceful, and fun! Will be back again for sure.

Wonderful Memories

David was helpful every step of the way. He ensured everyone was comfortable. We ranged in age from 5 years to 76years old. There were activities for everyone. The pool was a huge success. Life jackets, water toys & rafts were all provided (even sunscreen). Corn hole, sand volleyball and so much more. Inside there were games, puzzles and 2 karaoke machines. Again, inside toiletries were available. Everyone enjoyed themselves. We made memories. Thank you, David. We loved Camp Sandy.

A 65th Birthday Celebration Full of Memories

If David could host every VRBO property, I would stay in them all. From the initial contact, until the day we left, he was amazing and helpful every step of the way. It was winter and the lake was down, but that did not stop the fun. There was no lack of entertainment on the property. It was a perfect place for all ages - my 7 siblings, their children, and a few of my nieces and nephew's children, were able come and reunite. I HIGHLY recommend this property to anyone looking for a space for your family or group to gather, cook, play, "chill", have some space for free moments to yourself and on top of that, be hosted by the best! Camp Sandy is all that much, much more. My family was complimentary of every aspect of the facility and of our host. LOVE Camp Sandy!

Book it! You won’t regret it :)

We have stayed at many vacation homes, and this has been our favorite by far! Emily and David were wonderful hosts and very accommodating. They are attentive without being intrusive. The property is amazing and exceptionally clean. If you are hesitant to book because of the low lake levels, you won’t even miss it. There is enough room for everyone to spread out and sleep comfortably, and the common spaces are big enough to fit your entire group. We especially appreciated not having to pack linens, cooking supplies, firewood, or chairs. Everything is there that you could possibly need. The property is secluded while still being close enough to town for grocery trips or deliveries. We never had to leave! Thank you David for creating this amazing place and thank you Emily for being so attentive and friendly. We will be back!

Wonderful stay!

Camp Sandy was an absolute delight. David was extremely attentive, made sure we had a thorough understanding of the property, and was responsive when we had questions. The house was well-stocked with kitchen and bathroom supplies, and if anything was lacking, David made sure we got it. We had ample room for us (a family of 23) and the food between the multiple fridges. We were able to stay cool given the over 100 degree weather this weekend and we also were very excited to make use of the meat smoker for some brisket! While the lake is low because of drought, there is a lovely pool and hot tub - and you can easily drive to a nearby lake entrance to swim or kayak. David went above and beyond to make us welcome, sending treats one day and coming by to bring extra fans and breakfast tacos another. The location is very close to stores and restaurants, but also feels very private and quiet. Both David and Camp Sandy have given our family a lot of happy memories and we would love to return.

It is hard to overstate how amazing this place is! In fact, the only thing that exceeds it is the graciousness of its host, David. There was not a single thing more we could have wanted from either: the property is stunning, it is jam-packed with things to do, the location is absolutely perfect in that it’s private yet convenient to all necessities, and David’s attentiveness before, during, and after our visit was spectacular. We highly recommend this property without reservation and look forward to returning soon!

I hosted my bachelor party at Camp Sandy and I truly couldn't have asked for a better location. Any activity you can think of is there. It's an easy place to entertain a large group. David was very communicative the whole way and offered us numerous useful food and logistics recommendations. I would certainly recommend Camp Sandy to any large group looking for a fun time on Lake Travis!

David is a gracious and responsive host! He gave a personal tour of the property upon our arrival which was very helpful. The property is beautifully appointed and VERY WELL EQUIPPED! As a group of 17, we had plenty of dishes, towels, toiletries, etc. The lower level game room was fabulous! We had a few brief showers during our stay so we made good use of that space (with 7 kids-it saved the day!) But, the highlight of our stay was the outdoor space. Pool, hot tub, "treehouse", pickle ball, kayaks, fishing, volleyball, etc. No one was ever without something to do! We had a great night making pizzas in the outdoor pizza oven and spent alot of time in the pavilion which has plenty of fans to keep you cool! I cannot say enough about how wonderful our weekend was at Camp Sandy!

This property is lovingly named after my mother, Sandy Pikoff. Camp Sandy is all about enjoying life and making happy memories with ones that you love. My mom did lots of charity work, so in her honor we are committed to sharing this beautiful property with groups of foster care kids on a regular basis, and donating a portion of our income to the local foster care community. It is a truly unique and beautiful property. I have added lots of amenities and will continue to build this into an amazing place for people to make life-long memories. I hope and expect that people will fall in love with this place and come back each year.
