The perfect getaway! Our beach home is a true gem and the perfect place to make new memories. It’s also pet friendly with prior approval. It has been fully updated and is equipped with everything you’ll need to have an amazing vacation. With just a short walk (or drive) to public beach access just down the street, you are only minutes to ocean and all the fun that awaits you at Kure Beach.

The inside of the home offers the following features:

Let’s start with this!! Pellet ice machine just like chic-fila! Yup! It’s as amazing as it sounds. As much as you want during your stay! ❤️👏🏽❤️

2 Bedrooms – A master bedroom with a king-sized bed, large closet, dresser, 2 night stand tables with drawers and a flat screen tv + a second bedroom that contains two spacious bunk beds with double sized bottom bunks, twin sized top bunks, night stand, shoe storage area with luggage stand and a dresser. Each bedroom has regular blinds and blackout shades to ensure the most restful sleep and includes linens!

2 Bathrooms – A bathroom with a shower/tub combination and one with a walk-in shower. Shampoo/conditioner and towels are provided for your convenience.

Large, Open Kitchen – This state of the art kitchen has stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, cooking utensils, a Keurig coffee machine (small regular coffee machine too) blender, a Cuisinart, ice cream maker and an under counter ice machine that makes ‘rabbit pellet’ ice cubes ideal for both drinks and filling your cooler to take to the beach.

Dining Area – Consists of a large dining table that expands to accommodate a larger crowd, as needed. It has a large cushioned bench and chairs for seating.

Cozy Living Room – A lot of care has gone into preserving the ‘old charm’ of the antique, knotty pine wood wall paneling while creating a very open, inviting respite. This is the original coast guard house of Kure Beach! A big sectional sofa (with a fold out double bed) is the perfect place to enjoy the large flat screen tv with Blu-ray player and a Bose radio. There is also built in storage in the corner of the living room containing board games, playing cards, puzzles, DVDs and much more for your entertainment.

The outside of the home offers the following features:

Top loading washer and dryer - Detergent is provided.

Private HUGE outdoor shower – The perfect area to rinse off the sun lotion and sand after a long day at the beach. The shower has both hot and cold water and an area to store your towel and clothes while you shower. It’s HUGE and totally private!

Undercover Carport – For storing your vehicle(s) or beach toys, especially nice on rainy days.

Clothing Line – For hanging up your wet bathing suits, clothes, towels so they can dry in the fresh ocean breeze.

Fully Fenced-In Backyard – A large, grassy area perfect for playing outside and doing cartwheels :) There is also a patio area with a couch, loveseat chairs, tables and a grill covered by a canopy to keep you cool on hotter days.

Outdoor Storage Building – Houses beach chairs, beach umbrella, fishing poles, beach toys, buckets, shovels, boogie boards, corn hole game portable for the beach, beach checkers, Bocce ball set, casting net, 2 adult bikes, and beach wagon for your use. WE SUPPLY ALL YOUR BEACH TOYS AND NEEDS SO YOU DONT HAVE TO!! Don’t forget we provide beach towels too!

There is seating in the front yard with a table for your drinks where you can actually sit and see the ocean! It's such a treat to say we "DO" have an ocean view! :) we are a dog friendly home but you must have approval prior to bringing your dog. 🐾

The town of Kure Beach is a bustling beach community and there is so much to enjoy in walking distance to the house to include the Atlantic ocean, pier, restaurants, playground, tennis and basketball courts, baseball field and Frisbee golf course. Inside our home, you will find a folder with detailed information on the many places to eat and activities to experience.

Nearby is Carolina Beach where you can drive your 4-wheel drive vehicle onto the beach at Freeman Park and a harbor where you can rent Sea Doos and deep sea fishing boats. There is also a very impressive NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher and access to the ferry system that can transport you to Southport and Baldhead Islands.

Our family has loved Kure Beach for 45 years with many generations having had the opportunity to enjoy this little piece of heaven. We have no doubt you will cherish your time here as much as we have in each and every season. Whether you are a family, a couple or just getting away by yourself for a bit of rest and relaxation, it’s the perfect place to reconnect, recharge and revel in the beauty around you. Great Beach Vacation Home

Our family loved the house. Ashley was a great host! She always messaged back in a timely manner to answer any questions we had. Ashley provides a house that is warm and inviting. She makes sure you have everything you need, down to q-tips if you've forget them at home. Kitchen is beautiful and fully equipped with everything you need. The beds were comfy. The water pressure in showers was awesome. There are plenty of blankets, bath towels, beach towels, and wash clothes. She even provides shampoo and conditioner. The pier is only a short walk. The kids loved riding the bikes that were also at the house. Everything you need is in walking distance or a short car ride. I loved that we could bring our dogs with us. The yard is fenced and has enough space for them to run around. The back yard seating area is so cute and comfy to hangout, once your all washed up from the ocean. I recommend this house to stay in. You won't regret it. We come to kure every year and definitely will book with Ashley again!

Amazing cottage

This house was perfect for my family of 4 which included two kids, age 6 and 9. My kids loved the bunk beds, excellent toy and boogie board selection and board games. The house is an easy walk to the beach or pier/restaurants. 2 beach wagons are provided making the beach walk even easier. The property manager was very responsive. The house was well stocked with kitchen supplies, koozies, towels, and blankets. Everything was clean. Lots of spots to sit outside and relax. Would stay here again for sure!!

Quick Beach Get Away

We bolted to the beach for 3 short days with our kids and the dog. The house is perfectly located near the beach but far enough back that the evenings were very quiet and relaxing. Walking distance to a few shops and easy access to the beach this was a perfect spot for our small family to hide out for a fast beach weekend! Beautiful house, super clean and fresh interior and quiet yard for the dog to hang out. We spent the evening walking the neighborhood and the park that is only a few blocks away. All the fun of the beach without the hassle of the crowds and noise, absolutely perfect!

Nice beach getaway

Perfect spot for our quick beach trip - house was well stocked (plenty of towels, blankets, dishes etc for our family of 5), in a nice location for the beach (5 minute walk or less). Quiet street, at least in the offseason. We loved walking the neighborhood with our dogs or biking (2 bikes available for use). The backyard was perfect for our dogs - very secure and they loved having room to run!

Great Family Place

There are so many great things I could say about our stay. First off, the location was great. It is only three short blocks from the beach, we had no issue going back and forth. The neighborhood was wonderful, quiet and very welcoming. The house was absolutely perfect! Almost all of the basics are provided, which makes packing and traveling much easier. The house is very cozy and clean, there were plenty of towels for all of us, and the ice machine was my favorite!! There is plenty of beach equipment available which came in handy for us. Our communication with the owners was wonderful. They are quick to respond and extremely welcoming. We could only stay for the weekend but were wishing it was longer by the time we had to leave. The outdoor space is absolutely beautiful at night as well. I could easily write a book about how much we enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend this place. I was iffy about it being pet-friendly since we were not traveling with pets but you can’t tell there have every been any animals here. We can’t wait to visit again!

My family spent a few days away from our hectic life in Boston. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the quiet of the beach before the summer rush. This cottage is comfortable, near to the beach, and near to many attractions. We enjoyed the yard as well, since we had a toddler and 2 dogs with us. The owner was very helpful with her recommendations, too.

Great neighborhood

Great little house in a lovely quiet neighborhood minutes from the sand and surf. Ashley was great to communicate with before and during our trip. The house was decorated in a nice beachy theme. It was stocked with everything you could need. We loved the patio and fenced yard for us and our fur babies! The covered carport was great for those rainy days. The water pressure in the showers was fantastic however to use the handheld, it can be a stretch for us who are "vertically challenged". It is a short walk (3 blocks) to the beach and some restaurants. We cut our stay short due to Mother Nature's mood of the week. We enjoyed our stay and my only recommendation would be for a mattress upgrade in the master bedroom. Ashley was quick to respond to any questions before and during our trip.

Why they chose this property

The island Cottage is the original coast guard house built in 1945. In 2014 the house was fully renovated but we kept the historic beauty touches inside. Don't let the outside of the house fool you. It's very spacious! Loved by all! Come stay and become one of our many regulars that return each year.

What makes this property unique

Newly renovated! Close to everything! Come park your car in the carport and walk to the beach, restaurants and the pier. No parking fees!!! It’s a huge bonus to be close to so much.
