Welcome to my beautiful Honolulu home, located in one of America’s premier destinations. Just a few miles from Waikiki, this residence sits atop a hill in a secure, gated community and offers sweeping ocean views, cooling trade winds, and a peaceful island atmosphere.

Occupancy Policy Although the home features three bedrooms, occupancy is limited to one guest. This is to help preserve the home and maintain the quiet, peaceful nature of the neighborhood. No additional guests or visitors are permitted at any time.
I understand this limitation may reduce the home’s appeal, and pricing has been adjusted accordingly for periods when I am away. Daily rates are lowered on the calendar during those times. Pricing and availability will continue to be updated as my travel plans become clearer, so please check back regularly. Fall, winter, and spring are typically when I am away.
Transportation Note The home is located uphill and away from stores and public transportation. A rental car is strongly recommended. Uber and taxi service can be costly, and drivers may experience difficulty accessing the gated entrance.
Booking & Review Process I have prepared a detailed rental agreement, house rules, and operating manual. Due to VRBO’s system, this document is released after booking. You will then have 72 hours (three days) to review everything, and if the home is not a good fit, the reservation may be canceled within that window.
I also request a brief FaceTime call with you during the 24 hours after your booking is placed. This is to make sure we are both a good fit for each other.

Disclosures •No additional guests or visitors are permitted on the property under any circumstances. This policy is strictly enforced and non-negotiable. If you are unable to agree to this condition, please do not proceed with booking. •The driveway is steep and may require extra care when entering or exiting the property. • Only one vehicle is permitted per reservation. • The leather couch in the family room is older and has been patched. • Security cameras are installed on the exterior of the home for safety purposes. • A portion of the master bedroom closet contains the host’s personal clothing. • The host covers the first $200 of monthly electricity usage. Any usage exceeding this amount is the guest’s responsibility. This policy encourages mindful and responsible use of air conditioning.

I chose this neighborhood nearly 28 years ago while searching for the ideal place to raise my young family. Kahala Kua is an exclusive, gated hillside community known for its privacy, tranquility, and commanding ocean views. Elevated above the city, it offers a peaceful, residential atmosphere while remaining conveniently close to downtown Honolulu, Waikiki, and the area’s premier beaches, dining, and shopping. This rare combination of quiet seclusion and central access makes Kahala Kua one of Honolulu’s most desirable neighborhoods.

After acquiring an exceptionally large lot—nearly twice the size of most properties in the neighborhood—we commissioned an architect to design a fully custom home, thoughtfully tailored to its elevated setting and ocean views. The residence was then built by one of the island’s premier builders, with careful attention to quality, proportion, and long-term livability.
