About this property
Ocean View Oasis Retreat. Comfort, plus great views! Sleeps 4.
MY GUEST HOUSE is a privately owned, gorgeous cedar cabin custom built in 2003 in one of the sweetest small towns on the Oregon Coast. If you are looking for high quality in a two bedroom home for a cozy retreat, look no further. This private retreat awaits you with airy vaulted ceilings and lots of windows overlooking the coastline. This newer home is filled with custom-designed wood finishes and has hardwood throughout. It’s truly a lovely cabin with many amenities....wood-burning stove, Wi-Fi, deck with gas grill, full kitchen with dishwasher, stackable washer/dryer in bathroom. West-facing views from living/dining area, main bedroom, and deck overlook the Neskowin Beach Golf Course and the Nestucca Bay Wildlife Refuge with lovely views of the Pacific Ocean from a high vantage point. (Please note that this location is in a part of Neskowin with full-time residents nearby. It is a quiet area and we ask our guests to be respectful of noise levels.) Sleeps 4 with 2 bedrooms (main bedroom with queen bed, plus office/bedroom with built-in desk and twin bed with trundle. The twin and trundle can be aligned together to accommodate a couple or used separately. While the room can accommodate 2 adults, some will find it more comfortable for 1 adult or 2 children). Queen size comfy bed in main bedroom faces west with views of the wildlife refuge and the ocean. Second bedroom/office faces east overlooking the drive with a view of a wooded area. Walkable to the beach (about half a mile). Note that the cabin is on a ridge overlooking the golf course, so there’s a hill to climb on the way back. Also, the trail across the wetlands (“the tsunami trail”) to get to the beach may occasionally be flooded in the winter, though it’s generally navigable with appropriate footwear (boots). Use at your own risk. An ocean-view deck off the dining area features chairs and a barbeque. In the welcoming living room you will find a wood stove, free WiFi access, cable TV, and more spectacular views. There is an extra $20 per person per night fee for more than two guests. Sorry, NO DOGS ALLOWED. NO EXCEPTIONS. (Other than officially documented service dogs.) The cabin has everything you want for your personal getaway. The living area is one stair flight up, on the second floor of the building, and the space is all on the second floor (with no further steps.) The Master Bedroom, with gorgeous ocean views, has an en-suite bath. The second bedroom/office has a good quality trundle bed that sleeps two comfortably. (FOUR PERSON MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY.) 25 year age limit. This is a high quality, custom-built home, filled with hardwoods and fine carpentry. The landscaping is lovely, with natural plantings on the grounds. You are surrounded by peaceful beauty. Relax and enjoy. Four miles of beaches to walk, explore tidepools, and have an evening beach fire. Within a short drive you have access to incredible headland hikes, and gorgeous drives. Cascade Headland is approximately 5 miles to reach the forest paths, then out to the headland. Pacific City, 10 beautiful miles to the north, offers a beach-front brew pub, a number of shops and several good restaurant choices. The headland, Cape Kiwanda, has a remarkable sandstone outcropping that is very unusual. it is a simple hike to the bowl where waves crash as they circle in. Lincoln City with its beach, restaurants, and shopping is about 10 miles south.

Everything was great at this location. Loved the cleanliness. Very complete directions about everything. Don’t think we’ll be traveling back to Oregon but would definitely recommend it to anyone headed here.

Well maintained, beautiful woodwork, fantastic sunset view, kitchen well set up, a fire was even laid in the woodstove and all I had to do was touch a match to it. We hope to stay here again.

This place has a gorgeous view, it’s very quiet and away from the main village. Great walk down to the beach, very steep for the first part but so beautiful. The host was great.

Thanks very much for your review. I really appreciate it and I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed a quiet place to celebrate your birthday.
Very cute cabin! It was very cozy. Loved the view of the ocean. The patio was so nice to drink morning coffee on. Big windows all along the cabin so there is always a view of the ocean. There is a flight of stairs to get to the living space. For families with small children there is a secure gate at the top of the stairs. If you are hoping to walk to the beach, know that it seems to be quite the walk including a steep incline. I walked for about 15 minutes then turned around when I got to a busy street you’d have to walk along to get the rest of the way to the beach. (There may have been another way that I didn’t know about). The drive to the beach was fast & easy! The cabin had all the basic kitchen equipment including a coffee pot & filters but on our visit the coffee was over a year expired so I opted for instant coffee that I had brought with me.
Wonderful getaway in this well built & sweet cabin; great location!

Hi Wendy,
Thank you for your review. We really appreciate it and know that it helps prospective guests when they’re looking for a place to stay.
Thanks again,
Roger and Joan
It was a bit smaller than we expected, which was actually perfect for my sister and I. But.” sleeps 4” was not 4 adults. It was two adults and two children as the second bed was a twin with a trundle underneath. All very comfortable very very nicely organized, clean, and a beautiful space. The walk to the beach was amazing, through a wetland wildlife area. And you could walk right into ” town” also… Which consists of one store (mercantile ) & one restaurant, both good. A great place to relax, rest & find solitude.
The Guest House is incredibly cozy and well equipped. Walking to the beach or into Neskowin was the perfect distance. And the views were spectacular. Roger was an excellent host, too!

About the host

My wife, Joan, and I are retired and though we still have to be in Portland part of the time, we spend as much time in Neskowin as we can and we love every minute. The peace we feel here just can't be duplicated. We hope that our guests feel the same rejuvenation that we do each time we arrive. Roger and Joan
Why they chose this property
We chose to build this home in a tree-filled part of Neskowin at the top of the hill. The Guest House feels both private and expansive. The sunsets are just fantastic every evening, no matter what the weather is doing.
What makes this property unique
This house was built to be a home. We did not scrimp on any details, and it was built by the finest home builders on this part of the coast. It is filled with hardwoods, fine craftsmanship, and details that most vacation homes will not live up to!
