Maplewood lakehouse was architecturally designed to capture the beauty of the surrounding Carolinian forest. The all-cedar walls exude the warmth of natural wood and give a lodge-like feel with a modern, minimalist twist. It is nestled in the beautiful and quiet community of Southcott Pines in Grand Bend. To experience one of Ontario's finest beaches you need only to walk three minutes to a private beach on the sandy Lake Huron shoreline.

Suitable for: Small families, couples getaway, quiet and small group gatherings

Sleeps: 10 max, but really 8 adults (Q and F/D beds) and 2 children (twin bunks)

Best family vacation ever!

This was by far the best family vacation we’ve ever had. Grandparents, Aunt/Uncle & Mom/Dad (and 2 littles) throughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage has absolutely everything you need for the week; just bring your food. Proximity to several beaches within walking distance made the experience delightful. Host is incredibly responsive and we had no issue at all finding the things we needed during the week. Thanks for everything!

Memorable family vacation

We had the privilege of renting the Maplewood Lakehouse for three weeks and we enjoyed every minute of it. Our kids loved showing their friends the cool loft area where movie nights, sleepovers and creative play happened. We enjoyed our morning coffees on the back porch surrounded by trees. The privacy and quietness of the area was something we commented on often. The host (Michelle) was easy to communicate with and her responses were quick and helpful. One of our favourite things to do was walk down to the beach (just around the corner) to watch the sunset. The kids would skip rocks while we reflected upon our day as the sun went down. When we wanted to spend the day at the beach, we would drive the short distance to Sun Beach where the sand was beautiful, the water warm and shallow for our young kids. The area was perfect for shaded walks, bike rides and outdoor fun. Our children loved the hammock, ladder ball and the trail in the backyard. On rainy days we would enjoy the fresh air in the screen room. The house came with everything we needed and was organized well. Thank you Michelle for an amazing stay. We highly recommend staying at Maplewood Lakehouse!

The Johnson Vacation sans Nana & Grandpa

We have an excellent impression of Maplewood Lakehouse ... but never arrived! Our kids and grandkids loved their stay, sharing great pictures of the house, it's glorious decks and the images of our granddaughters baking birthday cakes in the well equipped kitchen. They loved the property, were very pleased with its contents and adored being back at Lake Huron. I was very pleased dealing with the owner who very graciously made every effort to accommodate our unusual circumstances. This is the year the US/Canada border was closed with 2wk quarantines imposed in both directions so my husband and I decided to stay put in rural Virginia. We look forward to a future opportunity to visit personally.

Great family memories

Our accommodations were above and beyond what we could have expected. The bottle of wine and lotion was a very nice touch to welcome us. The oinery pass and private beach were also above and beyond what we could have expected. Michelle and Rick are incredible hosts. We highly recommend this hone to anyone. Thank you!!! A digital thermostat would be the only suggestion we would make ......... maybe even hot tub! LOL!!!!! Have a great time to all who are able to enjoy this property!! Thank you

Really nice home!

Great home within the neighbourhood of Southcott Pines. Has everything you need for a fabulous vacation. The kitchen is very well equipped. Great backyard for entertaining. Quick walk to the closest beach access.

There were 6 adult ladies. The property is stunning both inside and out. Every amenity that you would ever need. Close to beach. Lots of seating both inside and out. Owners were very quick to reply if we had a question. We have been coming to Grand Bend for 30 years. Love the neighbourhood of Southcott Pines. This is by far the best place that we have rented.
