About this property

Brand new and modern apartment on Red Line!

Welcome to our fully renovated 1-bedroom apartment in the heart of Chevy Chase/Friendship Heights! Our house is a 7-minute walk to Friendship Heights Metro/Bus Station and tons of shopping and dining. The apartment has beautiful and modern finishes, new furniture, a fully equipped kitchen and a working space (Apple computer and a printer). We welcome families with children and are proud to say that our neighborhood is among the safest and greenest in Washington.

This apartment is a part of our house, and therefore we put all of our passion and love into remodeling and furnishing it. David and I tried to think of everything that a businessperson, a couple or a family might need during their stay. Therefore, we have a fully equipped kitchen with new appliances and such essentials as a coffee machine, a child chair and champagne glasses (who doesn't need that on vacation, right?). We also provide a laundry room that has a new set of washer and dryer and an iron.

We stayed here for a week in late October and early November. The apartment provided everything we needed, was safe, in a great neighborhood, and quiet day and night. The host went above and beyond in anticipating what a traveler might forget to bring like snacks and toothbrushes. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking meals or heating take out food. For a basement apartment, this unit is very light and bright. The red line on the Metro is only a few blocks away. We would stay here again without reservation.

Nice neighborhood, easy access to Metro (about 12 minute walk) and near-by grocery store. This is a basement apartment and we never heard Gladys or David above us. Would definitely stay here again!

DC landing pad

This was a perfect spot for myself and my teen to return to after exploring all the sites that DC boasts. We stayed for 4 nights. There is an amazon fresh (for groceries) and friendship heights metro station within easy walking distance. I used amtrak to travel from NC to DC and was able to access all necessities visit famous landmarks without a personal vehicle. The apartment is well stocked and has lots of attention to small stuff: small size toiletries, coffee pods/creamers and a snack basket. David was responsive. Honestly, i only needed to contact him via text at checkout just as a courtesy to make him and his spouse aware that I was checking out and express thanks for the excellent accommodations. Id recommend this space to anyone exploring DC in a party of 2 or 3.

Best of DC

Such a fantastic apartment. Intentionally decorated, modern, well appointed and clean. We have stayed in several Washington DC apartments and this one stands above the rest, and by far. Gladys and David were so helpful, friendly and welcoming and quickly oriented us to the area and the apartment. Included is a new full size refrigerator with a nice sized freezer with automatic ice maker, an electric stove, microwave, toaster, everything you would need to prepare a meal, a Keurig coffee maker, great dishes, coffee and tea cups. The washer and dryer are new and large capacity, contained within a large, separate laundry room off the kitchen. The apartment had amenities that were helpful, thoughtful and a pleasant surprise. Included were a basket of treats (loved them!), a computer with a printer, extra blankets and towels, travel sized shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and even toothbrushes, if you forget to bring your own. The neighborhood was quiet, fantastic to walk around and surrounded by all kinds of destinations within short to long walking distances. Standouts were Hillwood Estate, Rock Creek Park, The National Cathedral, Rodman's (all things grocery and living related), Magruder's (grocery), and Zen Acupressure (to mitigate all the walking). The pictures and this review will not do this apartment justice but this was the best value and the best overall experience we have had in Washington DC and we will return.

Amazing location of this great English basement apartment rental. We stayed for 6 nights and enjoyed each one. The bed was comfortable and the place had everything we needed. Easy walk to Whole Foods for a few small grocery items. Plenty of things already provided, such as toilet paper, paper towels, coffee and sugar, etc. I was so glad to not have to buy paper products in order to stay here. It makes a huge difference to already have key essentials. The best part of this place is how beautiful and safe the neighborhood is and the easy access to the Metro. We will stay here again and again every time we visit DC.

Wonderful!

The property was as described - very well-maintained and ready for arrival! The hosts were very nice, communicative, and accommodating. A bad storm came through and knocked out power in the neighborhood one evening, and they brought us flashlights! We enjoyed walking the beautiful neighborhood and felt very safe walking the few blocks to the main commerce area!

Wetherford Family Vacation

David and Gladys were excellent hosts! We ordered groceries from Amazon fresh and David put our groceries in the apartment the day before our arrival. We had cold drinks waiting for us when we got in. The location is great. It is close to the metro and several restaurants. The apartment was well equipped with toiletries and k-cups. So much better than staying in a hotel. We had a great time. The accommodations are a big part of what made our trip great.
