The Boat House is a luxury semi detached 4 bedroomed villa set in an acre of lush tropical gardens with unrivalled views across one of the most beautiful bays on the south coast. The huge outdoor infinity pool is ideal for families. Each of the four air conditioned bedrooms have been meticulously designed to provide comfort and stylish living. All bedrooms are en suite and have a combination of roll top, oversized concrete tubs and rainforest showers. There are 2 large lounge areas, with large sofas and TVs. We also have a range of DVDs and a playstation for guest use. The kitchen is modern and sleek and boasts a huge centre island ideal for pre dinner drinks. Guests have use of a fridge freezer, coffee machine, kettle and toaster in the house but all meals are prepared by our amazing chefs in the main kitchen, or on our poolside charcoal BBQ. There is an indoor dining area for 10 plus ample outside dining on the terrace over looking the pool and Indian ocean. Our friendly and professional staff are on hand for your comfort and service and can arrange in house massage, yoga and day or overnight excursions. We also have an onsite personal trainer if you wish to book fitness or yoga sessions during your stay

About the host

Your host

We are a family of six who moved from the UK to Dubai in 2008. In 2009 we went to Sri Lanka for the first time and fell in love with the people, culture and country.

Why they chose this property

Our villa name was not chosen because of the obvious alliteration with our surname– it was actually chosen because of a beautiful but completely unseaworthy and ridiculously overpriced classical wooden fisherman’s boat that we purchased early on in our Sri Lanka adventure. We also thought about calling the house “Saw Coming They Us” but it didn’t quite have the same ring to it. In any event, the boat now sits in magnificent splendour in the grounds of 2Villas where our guests can look upon it and wonder at our gullibility.

Having travelled to Sri Lanka on holiday and been captivated by its culture, beauty, food, beaches, people, tea trails (we could go on – the list is impressively long) it seemed the perfect place to build our family retreat. Roping in friends and family to assist in those areas where we were less than competent (pretty much all of them) we have strived to create a home and a place that was both luxurious and comforting.

What makes this property unique

We built The Boat House from scratch having found the raw land in 2012. Going through that process creates a bond with your property that is far deeper than if we had simply purchased it. It has also meant we have designed it to be the perfect luxurious get away.
