The Sandy Bear is located on a quiet residential street in Glen Arbor, with sweeping views of Lake Michigan, steps from the beach, and a short walk to downtown. This spacious, family-ready retreat, comfortably sleeps 8 adults, and has 3 living spaces and 4 porches for relaxing and enjoying beautiful views at any time of day. There are 2 full bathrooms with tiled showers and double vanities (the master bath also has a separate bathtub), 1 half bath and an outdoor enclosed shower for freshening up after a long day of play.

The first floor features an open layout for the kitchen, dining and living rooms, a wood burning fireplace, flatscreen TV, half bath and the master suite. There are two porches on the first floor -the front porch is perfect to enjoy the morning sun to start your day and a screened-in back porch follows the sunset and has its own separate wood burning fireplace.

The second floor has two bedrooms and one den- all with queen beds. There are two decks with beautiful views of the lake and sunsets, a central seating area, and a full bath with double vanities.

The kitchen is spacious and well stocked with essentials, spices and cookware to help create memorable meals. The adjoining dining table seats ten and the breakfast bar offers four spots. The screened-in porch also has a pub table with four chairs.

In addition to the outdoor shower and porches, there is parking for four cars and a garden and fire pit for enjoying the outdoors. Steps away at our street's beach, we've set aside beach chairs for your use (labeled Sandy Bear).

- Downtime Glen Arbor is a 5 minute walk away and has many restaurants, stores, coffee shops art galleries, mini golf and more

- Glen Haven and Sleeping Bear Point are 2.5/3 miles away

Things to know:
- Sorry no pets are allowed
- When utilizing the beach, please reside within the main area, not in front of our neighbor's homes which are private up to the high water mark. You can of course walk along the entire waterfront of Lake Michigan.
- At the end of each day please stack and place our "Sandy Bear" beach chairs next to the beach deck
- This is a quiet residential street, with mostly full-time residents. Thank you for respecting your neighbors

A beautiful home in an idyllic location - the residence is well appointed with everything you would expect from a high-end rental. Access to town and all Glen Arbor has to offer is a 10 - the street (about 20 houses) share a small strip of beach, and most the community there is very friendly. Host was very easy to deal with (the owner, not a managment company) - overall a great stay!

This house was the perfect fit for our family. It's very close to the lake and a short walk into town. Perfect for our kids and their friends to walk into town when they wanted. The house is spacious and well equipped. I especially liked the screened in porch!

We absolutely LOVED this house! So spacious, comfortable and right in the heart of Glen Arbor. It’s about a 30 second walk to the water which was lovely. Communication with the rental company was a breeze and we really enjoyed our stay. Only slight downfall was that the bathroom locks didn’t work, probably damaged from previous renters but it wasn’t really an issue since there were only a few of us at the house. I reported it and was thanked and assured it would be fixed after our stay :) the house was very clean and inviting and we have no complaints ! Definitely would stay there again!

Great cottage on the big lake

The Sandy Bear cottage was perfectly situated a mere 100 yards from the boardwalk leading to the beach and 500 yards from all the shops and restaurants in the other direction. The home is so well situated close to everything that you could literally leave your car in the driveway for the entire stay and walk or bike to everything. This beautiful home had everything needed for our family to enjoy the week, and I think the best part was the beautiful decks and porches to enjoy quiet morning moments and the sunset after a long day of swimming or biking. We are bikers, so being less than a quarter mile from the Heritage Trail access was a bonus. This was a great stay, and after renting weekly cottages for 11 years in the area, I can say that this cottage was one of the best. Sincerely, The Green Family

My wife and I have been renting our house in Glen Arbor through several management companies in the past but have decided to host on our own now. We limit the number of weeks we rent our house because we love being there ourselves! We have made great memories with our family and friends and hope you will also as our guests!

Why they chose this property

Our street is close enough to walk to the beach and downtown, so it is very easy to pick up groceries, visit restaurants and stores without using a car. Our neighborhood is very close with most families that have lived on the street for more than 20 years.

What makes this property unique

When we built our house there were certain aesthetics we wanted to incorporate such as open living, dining and kitchen area, porches in front and back to follow the sun, second floor decks with great views of the lake, tile bathrooms with coastal colors and plenty of closet space. Since we are avid readers, we also installed book cases in a central hallway.
