About this property

Newly renovated historic farmhouse with all modern amenities, meals available.

Our property is perfect for family stays! You have exclusive use of the house. The warm homey feel is restful, and the beautiful property will encourage spending time outdoors enjoying wading in the creek and sipping your favorite beverage on our new deck.

Take time to reacquaint yourself with your friends and loved ones. Challenge each other in yard games of croquet, badminton, volleyball, Bocchi ball or jarts.

An old-fashioned cookout can be enjoyed by the creek. As warmer evenings draw us outdoors gather together to watch flames dance, share stories, and enjoy the yummy fun of the most beloved snack under the stars. Our pre-made s'mores kit is available with lots of variety like peanut butter cups, banana slices, chocolate-covered mint or whatever you can imagine. We will round up all the supplies for you at an additional fee, so you can focus on roasting your concoction over low, glowing coals after hungry snapping flames cooked your steak or hamburgers. Engage the children in the fun of finding just the right stick to cook their own hot dogs.

Our historic 1840 property sits on an acre and 1/2 country setting with lovely creek, yet it is conveniently close to shopping and entertainment. Total inside renovation has been completed summer of 2017.

We offer four large bedrooms with private tiled baths, which can accommodate 8 to 12 people. Our downstairs suite has two extra-long twin beds that can be converted to a California King. The dramatic white and rich blue décor brightened by tall Victorian windows gives a cheerful welcome. It's softened by the antique desk and rocker's wood tones. It's large bathroom is a natural gray with subway tiles surrounding a sunken jetted tub and raindrop shower. The sun porch is adjacent to the suite with a beautiful view of the creek and horse pasture and can be used as a kid nook using the trundle bed to sleep two except during the winter. This is a three season room.

The second floor King suite has a rich stately feel. The en suite bath is attired with an antique vessel bowl vanity. Connected is a reading room with desk and trundle bed that can be used as a kid nook. This room leads out to a new second floor deck with café table to have your coffee and read the morning paper. A small refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave are available for use on the second floor. The warm rustic feel of the double bed room lets you unwind and enjoy the peace of a simpler day. It is furnished with antiques, a sliding barn door to the shower and in room vanity. You'll want to stay in bed and cozy up with a book. We have a selection of books if you didn't bring yours.

Our Queen bedroom exemplifies the country refinement of this historic 1870 home. The room's coloring of warm browns and grays emits a calming to one's mood.

Major tourist attractions are: Hershey Park 25 minutes away, Harrisburg capital 10 minutes, Lancaster Amish Country 30 minutes down the road. Gettysburg Civil War Park 45 minutes. Our area is filled with fun, exciting events year round. Highland's golf course is across the road. The Harrisburg International Airport is 12 minutes from us and the turnpike 5 minutes.

You have full use of the large farmhouse's kitchen, laundry, living room, brand new to you.

The ground floor dining facility is a small event center. This is not a public walk in restaurant. You need not be concerned about any interference of your stay. The picture shown is a group at the restaurant. You have an eat in kitchen for 10 upstairs in the farmhouse for your use.

Rates for whole house rental is $375 to $550 a night. Meal plans available by making arrangement with Chef Duane a few days ahead. Rates fluctuate with the seasons. Summer season rental of whole house is $475 a night with a minimum stay of 2 nights. Once again a full 7 day weekly reservation gives you the weekends at the weekday rate.
For business travelers, we have a meeting room available downstairs in the restaurant.

Overnight Stay/ Wedding venue
We booked the Fulling Mill Inn for Friday and Saturday nights (for ourselves and out of town guests), and had our wedding on site on Saturday. Ourselves and our guests just loved the beautiful old house, and we ended up giving quite a few tours so people could see all the amazing features. The house was very clean, and the kitchen has pretty much anything you could possibly need. We had our wedding in the side yard, and Paula and Duane just went above and beyond making sure that everything worked out well for us and our guests. We are so happy that we found this venue, and so thankful that they opened up their incredible old home to us. Everything turned out wonderfully, we cannot say thank you enough!

Golden Anniversary Visit
4 siblings and our spouses stayed at the Fulling Mill Inn for our eldest sister's Golden Anniversary. Paula and Duane were excellent hosts. They arranged a totally off-menu cookout (which became a cook-in due to the weather) which was excellent. The weather cleared enough for S'mores by the fire. The Inn is a charming, renovated older home with a private restaurant-like eating area in the terrace level, as well as a full kitchen in the residence. They offer a bed and breakfast option, of which we did not partake (but may well at a future stay), and pre-arranged lunch and dinner options in the restaurant area. The grounds were very pretty, particularly the flowers planted immediately below the Inn. There is an upper and lower parking area, the smaller upper area is best for guest, close tot he entry - for good directions from your GPS, the 2 parking areas have 2 different addresses - just ask Paula for them. Overall we greatly enjoyed our trip and the Inn very much and will probably stay there again.

Wonderful place to stay
What a wonderful house to stay in for our family get-together. We had 5 adults and 4 children. Lots of bedrooms and bathrooms, so everyone was very comfortable. The beds, the linens and the towels were all excellent quality. The kitchen was well appointed with plentiful dishes, cookware, etc. The grounds were gorgeous and the kids loved playing outside. Location was perfect, only about 20 minutes to Hershey. Hope to stay here again, sometime!

Property address was misrepresented in listing.
This property is not listed correctly. They give you the address of the house next door (theirs). The owner was rude and dismissive when I expressed concern regarding this discrepancy. When Paula came to speak to us she assumed the my mother had reserved the facility and chose to address her not me the actual lessor. The home itself is fine. There was a ton of dust and lots of CLUTTER! This is not a home for anyone who is a minimalist or has difficulty with clutter or allergies to dust or down. The kitchen feels like the place where old China goes to die it was so cluttered and disorganized some of the drawers get stuck because they are so full of clutter. I also had to remove the DOWN bed topper as I am severely allergic to down. All the bathrooms had partially used shampoo and soap bottles I am assuming to give it a “homey” feel, though I found that to be unclean. There was also leftover food in the refrigerator. List the property correctly with the proper address; my GPS found it just fine when Inputting the proper address. This is the only property I have ever stayed in that has a junk drawer in the kitchen.

About the host

Hosted by Duane and Paula Rhodes

Host profile image
Duane and I decided to renovate the barn next to the farmhouse in 1987 to be able to fulfill his desire of running a restaurant. His mother had offered to let him use part of her home for this endeavor. This began a 40 year love of operating the Goodville House of 1870. Together they so enjoyed making her New England Fare she enjoyed at her family's table growing up in Concord, New Hampshire. Her apple pie with a slice of sharp cheddar couldn't be beat.
Duane's mother, Leona was an accomplished musician and vocalists and loved to engage our customers in sing alongs and music games. They were delighted when she honored them with serenades on their birthdays, and anniversaries.
As our three children grew up they were excited to help serve, anticipating savoring the leftover food from the evening banquet. After mother died at age 91 we inherited her property which is now the new Fulling Mill Inn and Restaurant. Come and enjoy it with us.

Why they chose this property

Duane's father was in the navy stationed at Olmstead Airforce Base here in Middletown. Duane wanted a horse and after saving enough money from his paper route deliveries his parents bought this farm to move the horse out of their garage. His family property is dear to his heart since he's been taking care of it since age 12. He has so many wonderful memories of the homestead. He and his mother loved cooking and opened The Goodville House Restaurant in their Farmhouse. We renovated the barn next door into our home and raised our three children there. We inherited the house in 2013 and decided to open up a bed and breakfast to make use of the lovely home. It took three years for the renovation and is now ready or you to enjoy. Please tour the site on the picture gallery. We eagerly anticipate your stay. Duane and Paula Rhodes.

Highland golf course is across the road. Both Hershey and Carlisle Car Show are 30 minutes away. This area has a vast selection of events, fairs, and entertainment for your enjoyment.
